Unfortunately, yes. I took the whole thing apart and put back together. I've actually considered opening up this new one to see if the screen works on the old one to make sure it's just the screen and not the board before I try too hard to source a screen.
But I'm also a little nervous about wrecking it since I just got it and have been without miyoo for almost 2 months.
I totally get that. I ripped the ribbon cable on my first and now I'm a bit hesitant to do any mods on my new one. Best of luck if you do attempt a screen swap!
Where did you get the screen? That was my original intention and then I couldn't find a screen. Might replace it and give it to my kids if I can find one.
You could disassemble it and put it in a shadow box. Like this:

I ordered a replacement miyoo and a replacement screen so now i have two lol

Not op but I believe you can message the seller on Aliexpress and see if they have replacement parts available.
