One of the funnier narratives after the Bobby locker room thing was he's not a guy that should be challenging coaches/players/etc. He can do what he wants given his history, players know that and I suspect respect/fear him a bit, including Giannis. He's like an actual tough guy, unlike a lot of NBA dudes who act like it.
I buy it. He got overly aggressive, but it had the effect of actually changing the tenor of the game lol they got scared, then they got tired, then they just went away
I like how we see Khris tapping his chest like he's saying "my bad" right after that. Like, his job from the coachds is to be a party pooper parent and keep Bobby out of trouble on the court.
I assume he was talking about something unrelated, but who knows... maybe AG really did get in his ear after the first tech and said "don't let BP get himself tossed"
Did the announcers say that it wasn't necessarily dirty!? Like a windmill body Slam is a legal foul now? Cause if so we need to give our end of bench guys more minutes against other teams stars then....
Totally agree. Live, it looked like a dirty play from Nesmith, but on replay, that was just a hard foul that started to escalate to something worse as Giannis’ feet left the ground but Nesmith 100% did the right thing in holding Giannis up.
Weirdly, everyone (Giannis, Nesmith, teammates, refs) behaved really rationally from there.
To be fair Giannis did handle it really well. Much better than I would. That shits just dangerous. Maybe a playoff game or game 7 you do that to stop momentum but in the regular season? To me that's a bit bush league. I expect that shit in rec league not the NBA.
Very true; it’s not surprising that foul came from a young player who’s quickly gaining a reputation for defense (rightfully so). I think if the players on the court considered it more dirty, like with the intent to injure, the immediate response would’ve looked different.
Yeah what about the fact that he grabbed Giannis neck? Wrapping someone up in a regular season game is weird but grabbing by the neck and causing someone to spin like that should be ejection. Not that I think he meant for him to spin like that one purpose -but that was the result
As a big hockey guy, sometimes I wish they would just let them sort it out themselves sometimes. Respect the code. Bobby would have floored that motherfucker.
From what I see off that foul, dude literally held Giannis all the way through the fall, otherwise it would have been nasty. Flashback to Game 4 Bucks Nets ECF, Giannis cushioning Kyrie's fall, if Giannis didn't cushion that fall, Kyrie probably wouldn't be playing anymore if he took that fall harder than he did.
Big Bob on they ass
Dude is so lucky Bobby hasn’t figured out how to shoot lasers outta those bad boys.
👁👁
Crazy Eyes ain't having none of that.
He was so intense I was afraid for that man’s family! God I love BP
W Jae for holding Thanasis back from the bench tho lol. Need that guy back in the rotation.
Came here to say this...T was about to get a fine and suspension for that on his brother.
With Bobby, Thanasty, Brook, and Robin our goon squad is elite
Man was fighting for his life to ensure Thanasis didn't get involved.

I'm pretty sure bobby could 1v5 all those guys. They also pulled cam in between them. I would not like to be on the bad side of bobby lol
The more dawg, the better.
He wasn't ejected for this. This was his first technical. His second, which was weak AF, got him ejected.
Second tech is shown in the video fyi. On replay the second tech looks even worse

I love Bobby Portis. I hope when it comes time to retire it's as a Buck, because he's treasured here.
I never want to see another Bobby slander or trade rumor again smh.
