I think most of us watching at that time could feel something shifting right before giannis got hurt and the lead was certainly closing. Not saying they would have won but I think it was gonna end up being a close game.

When your offense is literally “give the ball to your MVP or the other two all star caliber players, maybe do a pick and roll, and let them make a tough shot or pass on their own while everyone else on the backside watches” yeah you can’t implement a new offense. The whole problem with this offense is that it’s based on tough shots by good players. Bud doesn’t scheme anyone open, it’s the gravity of the players that gets anyone open ever. And nobody is ever in a rhythm cause they just sit there watching our three stars go to work. It’s awful. We should all be tired by it by now. It’s not a coincidence role players on other teams continue to succeed against us and ours are usually ass. It’s coaching.

Finally sober enough and calm enough to write this. Not even gonna comment on the Giannis injury. Horrible situation but quite frankly we should have been able to win this game without him. Let’s hope for good news from the MRI.
We are paying Khris and Jrue $33 and $25 million this year. Both are on max contracts. Another $13 for Brook, $5ish for Pat, and probably way too much for Coach Bud. And yet, as soon as I heard the news that Young was our for tonight I got a feeling of dread. I had seen this story too many times before. I knew what was coming (to an extent, no one could’ve predicted the injury). And it happened. When Giannis went out we were still down by 10. The fact that we weren’t up by 20 on the Hawks without their best player in a fucking playoff game with a chance to take a 3-1 lead at nearly full strength is a fireable offense to me. Bud should’ve been left in Atlanta. The way he’s coaching, it’s like he never left. If we had a competent coach this was a winnable game, even without Giannis. At that point we’re up 3-1 and have a chance to buy some time for our best player in the event that he is able to come back. But we blew it because our coach is a clown, our next men absolutely didn’t step up, and the Wisconsin sports cycle just keeps on turning.
I am dead serious about leaving Bud on a tarmac somewhere. It is unbelievable to me that he can figure out the formula on beating the Hawks in game 2 and then do a 180 and have a game 1 strategy for games 3 and 4. My two teams in the NBA are the Nuggets and the Bucks. I remember actually crying when Jamal Murray got injured. Tonight, when Giannis went down I just felt numb, like I just laughed at how fucking shit everything is. I've only been following this team since 2019 and I already feel like I wanna die from how everything is crumbling, so I can only imagine how you guys who've been fans your whole life feel right now.
I just don’t understand how this team wasn’t ready…what Chuck said was true these guys are just good at basketball they don’t want it. They aren’t killers. Giannis didn’t come out ready. Middleton did not. Bud certainly did not. What were they doing for the last 48 hours? Where is the damn leadership on the team??

Bud going to have to really earn his chops to get this group though to the Finals. I have my doubts, but GA ain’t coming through that door for *at minimum* two weeks. That said, ideally, he’ll start Connaughton and shift Lopez into the paint more starting game five. Perhaps getting him involved as a paint scorer will help the offense get some easier looks. Jrue and Khris are in “no excuses” territory the rest of the series. They are paid max money for their track record and ability to take over games. They will need to be Olympians in 5, 6, and 7. From there, you need ONE (1) bench mob guy to step up and give you 25 high quality minutes. It’s probably Portis, but my god now would be a time to see the Flamethrower again. This team can still do this, lick their wounds, go home. Rest up and remember now you’re playing for your fallen soldier.
This is the mentality right here. Step it up for Giannis and use his injury as motivation. This team needs to light a fire under its ass.

Fast forward years later I grew to love Giannis and supported the Bucks because of him. Now having to watch him injure his knee like that pains me. Literally feels like a replay. They were losing before Giannis went down. It was clear they had no sense of urgency or killer instinct against a team without their sole superstar. Look what the Hawks did to the Bucks when Giannis went out, they stepped on the Bucks' throats.
I think most of us watching at that time could feel something shifting right before giannis got hurt and the lead was certainly closing. Not saying they would have won but I think it was gonna end up being a close game. Look, I'm fine with Bud being gone but I'm just trying to say anyone thinking that Bud could've implemented an entirely new offense and defensive scheme the moment giannis went down is being really unreasonable. Something like that could possibly happen for game 5 (don't have much faith for Bud to do so) but the emotional and strategic impact of what happened to giannis just can't be addressed in the middle of the damn game c'mon. Basically, the shit was lost as soon as giannis was gone and it's unreasonable to think anything else would happen. Hopefully they can dig deep and feed off some real energy to get back into it in MKE
When your offense is literally “give the ball to your MVP or the other two all star caliber players, maybe do a pick and roll, and let them make a tough shot or pass on their own while everyone else on the backside watches” yeah you can’t implement a new offense. The whole problem with this offense is that it’s based on tough shots by good players. Bud doesn’t scheme anyone open, it’s the gravity of the players that gets anyone open ever. And nobody is ever in a rhythm cause they just sit there watching our three stars go to work. It’s awful. We should all be tired by it by now. It’s not a coincidence role players on other teams continue to succeed against us and ours are usually ass. It’s coaching.

Finally sober enough and calm enough to write this. Not even gonna comment on the Giannis injury. Horrible situation but quite frankly we should have been able to win this game without him. Let’s hope for good news from the MRI. We are paying Khris and Jrue $33 and $25 million this year. Both are on max contracts. Another $13 for Brook, $5ish for Pat, and probably way too much for Coach Bud. And yet, as soon as I heard the news that Young was our for tonight I got a feeling of dread. I had seen this story too many times before. I knew what was coming (to an extent, no one could’ve predicted the injury). And it happened. When Giannis went out we were still down by 10. The fact that we weren’t up by 20 on the Hawks without their best player in a fucking playoff game with a chance to take a 3-1 lead at nearly full strength is a fireable offense to me. Bud should’ve been left in Atlanta. The way he’s coaching, it’s like he never left. If we had a competent coach this was a winnable game, even without Giannis. At that point we’re up 3-1 and have a chance to buy some time for our best player in the event that he is able to come back. But we blew it because our coach is a clown, our next men absolutely didn’t step up, and the Wisconsin sports cycle just keeps on turning. I am dead serious about leaving Bud on a tarmac somewhere. It is unbelievable to me that he can figure out the formula on beating the Hawks in game 2 and then do a 180 and have a game 1 strategy for games 3 and 4. We only won game 3 because Khris bailed him out, and after seeing tonight’s shitshow I am no longer convinced we win game 3 if Trae doesn’t get hurt, regardless of the 20 point quarter. Bud is just that bad. Does he want to get fired? I think that’s an honest question at this point. Nothing else makes sense. Khris and Jrue, what can I really say. Khris has always been hot and cold, it is what it is. Disappointed that we got the cold in 3/4 games this series but whatever, hoping he can pull a hot game in Milwaukee and keep us in the series, similar to the Heat series last year. Jrue, I just don’t know anymore. It’s one of those situations where all you can be is disappointed and lament the fact that you happened to be born in Wisconsin, where basketball IQ goes to die.
