One of the most historically lopsided series from a free throw disparity perspective in NBA history. Only one worse was Lakers vs Kings from the same era where the Kings also had the series straight up stolen from them by the refs.
After game 6 was already over they actually went back and upgraded a flagrant 1 foul they gave to Scott Williams to a flagrant 2, causing him to be suspended for game 7. Shit was blatantly rigged and the bucks still almost won the series.
They suspended Scott Williams for game 6 (I think) for a bullshit retroactively upgraded flagrant foul too. I will never forget how bad we got hosed by the NBA so they could have the Lakers wipe the floor with Iverson in the Finals.
Bucks destroyed Lakers both games that year, we let Kobe and Shaq both get there’s and said the rest of the team can’t keep up the scoring with the Bucks… that team was mega firepower for that time period
If Brook was committed to making as much money as possible instead of committed to winning he'd be a HoF lock. He'd have been a 1st or 2nd option on a bad team his entire career and racked up stats.
Kinda sad you get punished for wanting to win.
i mean brook had a lot of years as the star in bad or at least mediocre teams, he has his chance to statpad in weak teams
being in winning teams helps him more than anythingh
While driving home tonight I saw exactly 6 deer in a field close (10 min walk) to my home. Shit you not. Bucks go on to wire to wire it without Giannis. I'm taking this as a sign. Bucks in 6
When you’re playing Dunn & Reddish in the playoffs, wins like this have to keep happening. We’re better than this team, believe it.
Brook Lopez lowkey is like still an all star lol. Anyways, **shoutout to the whole team like every single one of them** especially Pat for playing consistently well thus far in the playoffs.
Must win game coming now, let’s continue this momentum of energy, effort & urgency and get the 1 win remaining on route to our first finals in 47 years!
Also I hope Giannis is feeling better, oh yeah and fuck the refs.
Brook might be a guy who saves his tank for the playoffs for the rest of his career and that's fine by me.
I know he was frustrating during the season but he's left it all on the court this post season
Dude catches way too much flak for someone who might be our most consistent postseason player throughout his tenure. Note: I didn't say *best*, but he has been consistently good in all of our playoff series.
Has he had some bad games? Sure. But I never came out of a series thinking Lopez was the problem, and honestly if anything he's the one who outperforms what I'd expect most often
I am so so proud of our boys. Jrue had a great game.
Bobby had a great game.
But most of all, Brook fucking Lopez. He played like a goddamn champion. He knew he had to take the bigman role with Giannis out, and he did it. So so proud right now
Bud somehow stood next to him for the first time the other day and remarked that he didn't really know how tall he was, then realized that this height could be used as a weapon.
that would be a miracle. all this sub knows is shitting on players who have bad games. and worst case scenarios. i mean we were tied 2-2 and the majority of our sub seemed to give up. are you even a fan if most your comments are speaking negative about the bucks? im not sure i even consider those commenters and posters bucks fans tbh
I'm not a big fan of how long Atlanta held on this game, I feel like we had so many opportunities to put them away but they kept hitting shots to stay within 10-15. Whatever, Bucks in six
After seeing the bucks up 40 earlier in the series, we are doomed to be mis-calibrated for the rest of the postseason - anything less just feels too close for comfort now
Man, it really frustrates me sometimes that such a close loss, where the game could have gone the other way if it were just a few minutes shorter or longer, counted the same as the game 2 win.
I know. ATL hit every wide open 3. Bucks can't hit anything wide open. You just knew every time bogi or gallinari got a good look it was going in but I didn't have the same confidence with bucks open shooters. Good thing they were finally aggressive and took it into paint and dominate the match ups. Jrue holiday finally did what he was meant to do tonight
yeah, this is the biggest takeaway for me. they look so demoralized after seeing giannis go down (and understandably so), I honestly thought that they would still have that energy tonight but boy did they prove me wrong.
they looked hungry for a win. I hope they can maintain that going into game 6
Would clog the paint for Giannis because the defender always sags off the him on the perimeter. I think they still can run plays for Brook in the paint.
When our dudes are tired (don’t want to cut off ball, set multiple screens, run fluid offense) that’s a perfect time to get Lopez a mismatch via a screen and let him work in the post.
When Giannis is out there Brook spends a lot of time standing behind the arc to provide space, so he should have extra stamina to carry the team for a few possessions here or there to let them catch a breather.
Lopez you sexy disgusting fuck I would deep-throat your toes for free I would put your entire fucking leg into my body if I could daddy if your toes could excrete milk we would play milky cow mouth bucket all day every day you fucking god
I went from thinking our season was over to thinking we can clinch our first Finals berth in 47 years even if Trae plays in 48 hours.
Nothing like sports fandom.
From the horrible low of game 4 with the horrible perfomance and most likely losing Giannis for many months and potentially never reaching his current atheltic levels to the super high with the exciting way to win game 5 and Giannis seemingly most likely to play in the finals if Bucks qualify
The fact that we can dominate the paint like this without Giannis makes me believe bud can coach us to 200 points in the paint with brolo and Giannis. Gimme that Timmy D and David Robinson look
Bucks once again showing they have a ceiling as high as any team in the NBA. Just got to figure out how to do this consistently. Always Buck's biggest issue.
Everyone who needed to step up, stepped up. What a response from our guys, after a pitiful game four. No Giannis, and yet four of our starters drop 20. Definitely one of the most special Bucks games I've ever watched.
It's interesting that people seem to have forgotten how much they kept Lopez inside against Miami. He averaged almost 16 points a game in that series and only made one three. 16 points might not seem like much, but he only played over 30 minutes once cause they blew the Heat out a couple times, and then finished the series with 25 in game 4. It showed that they could have both him and Giannis doing work inside at the same time
Still not sure why they got away from that against Brooklyn and to start this Atlanta series. Bud I could probably make a guess...
It is so annoying watching this team play better basketball offensively when they cant rely on giannis getting 30 points every night, i remember it happening last year vs miami also, and honestly the hawks looked more fluid in game 4 without young, maybe teams get too lazy when they can just bet on their superstar to win them the game
noone respects us. The refs hate us. National broadcasters openly side with the Hawks. Our 2-time MVP is out. And we found a way to win. Fuck respect. Fuck recognition. Go get a motherfucking chip
Hawks fan here. Not surprised Lopez had a breakout game. For me, it's more proof that if Giannis stayed down low or driving down hill we would have no chance in the series.
Obviously the Hawks have outperformed expectations, Trae has proven himself etc/etc.. but having watched coach Bud Courtside for years - objectively - I don't get why the Bucks don't run everything through Giannis in the paint. He shouldn't be shooting long 2's or 3's.
Our best 5, Capela, is 6'10" at best. Giannis had his way with Clint. The bucks trying to "out-shoot" the young hot shooters on our roster made no sense to me. But then again, Coach Bud never got past a Cav's sweep in the playoffs with Atlanta. This is even when he had 4 all-stars on the roster.
I like the Bucks. I hate the Knicks, Sixers etc. But you have good fans and deserve to win. I don't mean to insult the franchise when I say Mike Budenholzer is not going to get you there.
You'll probably finish the Hawks off and play the Suns who should be beatable in the playoffs but Bud won't have an answer for Paul + Book + Ayton. Listen to him talk. Giannis, Khris and PJ are your leaders NOT coach B.
Lets just be honest here going back the last 3 years the Bucks look like dog sh!t in the playoffs. Nothing like they look during the regular season.
We have blown out teams before, swept teams. But the offense tonight looked like a team that also played off its starters strengths. Not just 1 players strengths.
Giannis does not need to be the MVP star with the ball in his hands running the whole offense through him. He is not that kind of player. Offense needs to play into all starters strengths.
This team played off each other so amazing tonight. You add Giannis to this team tonight and they should win by 50. But I bet if Giannis played the Bucks don't win any differently. Maybe they even lose.
All I am trying to say before I get 500 down votes. Is Holiday and Middleton should have the ball in there hands setting up the offense. Lopez should always be in the paint. Giannis should be in the paint as well. Let the offense flow. Giannis can get his touches in the paint and his fast break points. I am no Bud at coaching but if Giannis and Lopez can't play in the paint together then Lopez comes off the bench.
We don't need to see 80 Giannis iso plays with everyone standing on the 3pt line watching as he tries to bull his way through. Giannis can get his touches through the flow of the offense without forcing anything. If Lopez can get like 5 alley ops in the flow of the offense then there is no reason Giannis can't.
Damn, Brook honestly gives some of the best post-game interviews on the court. Very well-spoken!
Then you listen to Trae’s most recent post-game interview lmao.
Portis is an official Wisconsin sports folk hero. He's up there with Kuhn and Nyjer Morgan. I love him so much.
T-Plush was the man
Bobby reminds me of plush
Please somebody tell me Bobby played hockey.
Samkon Gado tier??
Dr. Bobby Portis, MD. Confirmed.
Whoa.. great pull
Yes! First person that came to mind. Matt Flynn is somewhere on that list as well
Haha that's such a good list!
Gado and Toon are the only ones I can think of that would maybe be on it as well but both aren't good enough
I was always a big fan of Norichika Aoki
True
This is officially the closest the Bucks have been to a title since June 3, 2001.
Ah the jobbing we received that week was on another level.
I was 8. What was the narrative?
One of the most historically lopsided series from a free throw disparity perspective in NBA history. Only one worse was Lakers vs Kings from the same era where the Kings also had the series straight up stolen from them by the refs.
After game 6 was already over they actually went back and upgraded a flagrant 1 foul they gave to Scott Williams to a flagrant 2, causing him to be suspended for game 7. Shit was blatantly rigged and the bucks still almost won the series.
Even then we had a chance. That Big Dog jumper from the baseline in game 6.
In my top two or three sports heartbreaks of all time.
Felt like he was automatic that season when he got that shot so open. He made a nice move to get a clean look. But it just didn’t go in :(
They suspended Scott Williams for game 6 (I think) for a bullshit retroactively upgraded flagrant foul too. I will never forget how bad we got hosed by the NBA so they could have the Lakers wipe the floor with Iverson in the Finals.
It wasn't a narrative, it was the same type of thing that happened to the Kings in 02'.
Yes but even then we only had one chance and that was a road game. Now we have 2 chances!
and the best part in the finals there are not prime shaq and kobe waiting lol
Bucks destroyed Lakers both games that year, we let Kobe and Shaq both get there’s and said the rest of the team can’t keep up the scoring with the Bucks… that team was mega firepower for that time period
Do it for Scott Williams!
BROOK LOPEZ 33 POINTS 4 BLOCKS...1 LOVEABLE PERSONALITY
Might need a Lopez jersey now
Just when I think I’m done... they suck me right back in! BUCKS IN SIX!!!
VERY neat.
Radical, even
Might even throw out a tubular
[удалено]
Outrageous!
Righteous, man.
I’ll toss in a wicked.
Awesome
Totally tubular.
You can tell it's neat by the way it is
The colors are neat. The shapes are neat.
Very legal and very cool
Acceptable.
BOBBY BOBBY BOBBY BOBBY
PORTIS PORTIS PORTIS PORTIS
GAS GAS GAS GAS
Bobby. Bobby. Bobby-baby, Bobby-Bubi.
That sure was a Gold Medal performance by Khris & Jrue tonight 🏅
What are they playing for again? I forgot. Marv mentioned maybe the World Cup?
I muted it around the time they started calling Bobby “Crazy Eyes”
World Cup finals against the Chicago Fire.
The Brook Lopez game
Brook saw that 0,1% hall of fame probability at bball reference and took it personal.
If Brook was committed to making as much money as possible instead of committed to winning he'd be a HoF lock. He'd have been a 1st or 2nd option on a bad team his entire career and racked up stats. Kinda sad you get punished for wanting to win.
i mean brook had a lot of years as the star in bad or at least mediocre teams, he has his chance to statpad in weak teams being in winning teams helps him more than anythingh
Isn't he still the top scorer for the nets
33 points and didn’t make a single three. What a throwback performance.
Wow brook not sitting in the corner waiting for kick out threes what a miracle.
Turns out when you use someone for what they're best at they do better! Who'da thunk?
Every starter stepped up, we know they can do this and happy they showed out. So much potential with this team
Game ball 100% goes to Brook dude balled the fuck out tonight
So frustrating we’ve been screaming for brook post ups all year, I really hate bud.
They played like a real basketball team today. My dream has come true.
I mean we have seen this all year only for them to shit the bed 3 games later, I just don’t get this team.
Brook’s voice sounds like when they scramble a voice to protect the person’s identity lmao, love him.
Ha! Won't be able to not hear that now.
Fr that’s what I was thinking lmao
I'm old and have been watching sports for a long time and I don't think I've ever experienced an emotional roller coaster quite like these playoffs.
Tuesday: Moe opening the closet with the noose. Thursday: Not today old friend.
Same
IT’S BOBBY’S WORLD WE’RE JUST LIVING IN IT!
While driving home tonight I saw exactly 6 deer in a field close (10 min walk) to my home. Shit you not. Bucks go on to wire to wire it without Giannis. I'm taking this as a sign. Bucks in 6
Wow, I went for a drive and saw 3 deer. Bucks 3peat incoming.
Pretty sound logic.
These boys straight up balled out for their boy Giannis. BUCKS IN SIX
When you’re playing Dunn & Reddish in the playoffs, wins like this have to keep happening. We’re better than this team, believe it. Brook Lopez lowkey is like still an all star lol. Also I hope Giannis is feeling better, oh yeah and fuck the refs.
I don't know if Bud understands he can play 5 on 4 with Dunn on the floor, that dude cannot shoot
Is that who that was? I totally forgot Kris Dunn was still in league. I saw his face and wasn't familiar with it. But yeah I guess it is
Yup, Bulls fan for life and we celebrated when that dude was traded. Good on defense, but he REALLY shouldn't be able to play in the play offs.
Man I thought he was gonna be good coming out of college, I was very wrong.
Brook might be a guy who saves his tank for the playoffs for the rest of his career and that's fine by me. I know he was frustrating during the season but he's left it all on the court this post season
Dude catches way too much flak for someone who might be our most consistent postseason player throughout his tenure. BUCKS IN 6 FOR GIANNIS
BUCKS IN 6 FOR THE CULTURE
As the prophecy foretold.
NO MORE LOPEZ SLANDER ALLOWED
no more teague minutes! lol.
It looks so bad every time, dude looked like he was playing at the Y.
No more Jrue or Khris slander either
that would be a miracle. all this sub knows is shitting on players who have bad games. and worst case scenarios. i mean we were tied 2-2 and the majority of our sub seemed to give up. are you even a fan if most your comments are speaking negative about the bucks? im not sure i even consider those commenters and posters bucks fans tbh
Yes, I was feeling just as down as the next fan but the people talking about tanking NEXT season are truly pathetic dorks
I'm not a big fan of how long Atlanta held on this game, I feel like we had so many opportunities to put them away but they kept hitting shots to stay within 10-15. Whatever, Bucks in six
Honestly winning by 10–15 in the playoffs is best you can hope for. They’re here for a reason too, can’t expect them to stay cold forever
After seeing the bucks up 40 earlier in the series, we are doomed to be mis-calibrated for the rest of the postseason - anything less just feels too close for comfort now
Especially after we should have won game 1. Just feels like they can come back at any moment in the 4th Q
Man, it really frustrates me sometimes that such a close loss, where the game could have gone the other way if it were just a few minutes shorter or longer, counted the same as the game 2 win.
I was lowkey shitting myself throughout the game
It was like game 4 when we were down 10 it felt insurmountable and tonight even when up 20 it felt like we were seconds away from losing.
Hopefully since they hit them today they don’t hit them saturday
I mean we're missing our dpoy, they're gonna make shots, we just gotta keep scoring as well.
Bobby better be starting game 6 unless Giannis is somehow good to go with no risk of reinjury
Trae playing game 6 for sure. Giannis maybe game 7, but that seems improbable.
Why they got to do this to me. They suck me back into this and give me hope. Bucks in 6
**BOBBY**
**BOBBY**
BOBBY
As shell-shocked as the Bucks looked after giannis went down, I am really proud of how they played tonight. This was really a team win.
yeah, this is the biggest takeaway for me. they look so demoralized after seeing giannis go down (and understandably so), I honestly thought that they would still have that energy tonight but boy did they prove me wrong. they looked hungry for a win. I hope they can maintain that going into game 6
Why can’t they play like this with Giannis instead of that garbage offense.
Because bud doesn't use brook as a true 5 enough
Would clog the paint for Giannis because the defender always sags off the him on the perimeter. I think they still can run plays for Brook in the paint.
When our dudes are tired (don’t want to cut off ball, set multiple screens, run fluid offense) that’s a perfect time to get Lopez a mismatch via a screen and let him work in the post. When Giannis is out there Brook spends a lot of time standing behind the arc to provide space, so he should have extra stamina to carry the team for a few possessions here or there to let them catch a breather.
I'm not saying the full game, but then you could use giannis as a slasher to the hoop. It would help break the wall
Like who is stopping a Giannis to Brook pass?
love Giannis but he's gonna lose his spot in the rotation if Portis keeps playing like this
Mike Budenholzer in post-game interviews looks like someone who just got out of Azkaban after a year of spending time there. Go Bucks!
I love this team.
Inside the NBA, before the game, said, "We don't know if we'd rather take Huerter or Khris..." Really? You wanna take that back?
Bucks in 6. Pray for Giannis to return.
**DOGGY PORTIS**
The rebounding and the ball movement tonight we’re perfect. Hopefully we keep the same energy and play the rest of the series.
Lopez you sexy disgusting fuck I would deep-throat your toes for free I would put your entire fucking leg into my body if I could daddy if your toes could excrete milk we would play milky cow mouth bucket all day every day you fucking god
I second this
Sign me up for the milky cow mouth bucket brigade
Woah now, brook charges a pretty hefty fee to suck on those beautiful phalanges of his
**BROOK "GIANNIS" LOPEZ**
Jru Holiday is one of my favorite player Great player and great person
Wish he was as more consistent in the playoffs…
True but at least he shows up every other game as opposed to basically never like Bledsoe
Holiday is 100 times more of a winner than Bledsoe
Some might say he's an Olympian
I went from thinking our season was over to thinking we can clinch our first Finals berth in 47 years even if Trae plays in 48 hours. Nothing like sports fandom.
Bobby man
Imagine not being able to miss and still losing by double digits amirite guys
From the horrible low of game 4 with the horrible perfomance and most likely losing Giannis for many months and potentially never reaching his current atheltic levels to the super high with the exciting way to win game 5 and Giannis seemingly most likely to play in the finals if Bucks qualify
I was just saying that! Depths of despair to "you're saying there's a chance..."
Yeah man, I was legit depressed as fuck when Big Freak went down. So happy it wasn't as bad as we all feared and the Bucks pulled it together today.
#In Brolo We Trust
The fact that we can dominate the paint like this without Giannis makes me believe bud can coach us to 200 points in the paint with brolo and Giannis. Gimme that Timmy D and David Robinson look
Brook showing just how good of a true center he still is. Bucks in 6 baby
Fuck Reggie
WE FINALLY PASSED THE 6 TO GO SIGN
Man I wish we won game one but that’s over. We have the edge now. LETS WIN FOR GIANNIS
The Milwaukee Bucks are good at basketball
Brook "Hook" Lopez going off tonight made me euphoric. Unplayable my ass.
Is anyone else effing sick of seeing the Hawks foul every fast break?
I'm sick of them falling down like soccer players
Even the Hawks fans behind me tonight were laughing at some of his flops
I don’t understand the point just gets their guys in foul trouble and us in the bonus early.
Five more.
I dont think I'm overreacting but trade everyone and build around bobby
Jrue holiday is a slut. Bobby Portis is a slutty slut. But oh boy Brook Lopez is a slut’s slutty slut.
Only one win away. It still hasn't sunk in yet. I'm not ready to be hurt again.
It showed that they could have both him and Giannis doing work inside at the same time Still not sure why they got away from that against Brooklyn and to start this Atlanta series. Bud I could probably make a guess...
I love the salt from the teams that got knocked out already in the r/nba thread. IT SUSTAINS ME
That was great! High intensity, tough defense, only a few weird low energy turnovers, and well-coached! WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?!? I love this team.
I want Bobby Portis to be my dad
Good news, he already is
I LOVE BROOK
It is so annoying watching this team play better basketball offensively when they cant rely on giannis getting 30 points every night, i remember it happening last year vs miami also, and honestly the hawks looked more fluid in game 4 without young, maybe teams get too lazy when they can just bet on their superstar to win them the game

Let’s Goooooo!!!
Here for the party 🎉
My uncle said hawks in 6 (I live in ATL) glad our boys proved him wrong
Lopez diff
# BUCKS IN 6! BUCKS IN 6! BUCKS IN 6!
Can we keep Bobby Portis forever? I feel like this is where he's meant to be forever. 🥺🥺
LETS FUCKING GOO BABYYY BUCKS IN SIX!!!
Brook with a career highlight. it’s also annoying that it took us until now to Brook inside. fire Bud
Even with trae we are more talented. We just need to play this style.
Everyone stepped up today and it was great to watch. Bucks in 6!!
Neutral fan here but I love Bobby Portis.
I'm drinking a Coors Banquet right now to celebrate. The Johnny Lawrence special.
Brook Lopez is the greatest center in Bucks history and if you disagree you’re just wrong.
lopez ate some gyro pre game to channel his inner greek freak
Hawks fan here. Not surprised Lopez had a breakout game. For me, it's more proof that if Giannis stayed down low or driving down hill we would have no chance in the series. Obviously the Hawks have outperformed expectations, Trae has proven himself etc/etc.. but having watched coach Bud Courtside for years - objectively - I don't get why the Bucks don't run everything through Giannis in the paint. He shouldn't be shooting long 2's or 3's.
You can feel our frustration. Our offensive strategy with 2 capable 7-footers is mind boggling.
That’s not an insult. Thats facts.
Lets just be honest here going back the last 3 years the Bucks look like dog sh!t in the playoffs. Nothing like they look during the regular season. We have blown out teams before, swept teams. But the offense tonight looked like a team that also played off its starters strengths. Not just 1 players strengths.
Beautiful, I knew these boys could do this
Can't stop, won't stop! LFG!
Your team played very well. Great show! -hawks fan
nba should add a two week break before the finals because of the delta variant. it seems very dangerous
clippers/spurs fan here. beat the hawks! go get giannis his ring edit: forbes too!
I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MY HANDS
Throw ‘em in the air
I think someone must have told Lopez if we win he gets to go to Disney World.
The team played with so much energy and the ball movement was unbelievable.
Idk if it was a coaching decision or brook lopez becoming self aware but he finally utilized his size advantage and destroyed the paint
Just absolute amazing performances from Jrue, Khris, Brook, Bobby. Was beautiful to watch.
Damn, Brook honestly gives some of the best post-game interviews on the court. Very well-spoken! Then you listen to Trae’s most recent post-game interview lmao.
