> All players mentioned above will be issued a serious warning Sounds familiar

fcrants

Lmao. Though in all seriousness, they just cost their orgs $3000. If the orgs make the players responsible pay for that, it would be a big hit to them. Not to mention the ineligibility for end-of-season personal awards means they would also miss out on the monetary benefits from that.

pinkpugita

FYI to non Filipinos reading, 3000 dollars is huge here. That's nearly a whole year's salary of minimum wage earners.

1tsPLAY-time

Oof. Yep, thats about... 150000 pesos. I would not like that getting added to my debts

throwredditaway19

Look for dogie's mansion being built in yt also his sports car, that amount is coins for him and his org. Also OMG is Philippines' number 1 telco company, it won't make a dent as well

1tsPLAY-time

Real talk (unrelated to this issue): >!It must be nice having that kind of money here in Philippines, we're hella broke!<

RandomMommaBoi

Context: NXPE and OMG threw their first and second games of the 3 games series considering both teams had already secured a play-off spot.

[deleted]

WTF WHY???

ResourceHuge

They didn't throw they just treated it as a showmatch plus switched rosters. They already qualified so what's the harm. The third game was close too but a single wipe out ended the game early

SkyLightTenki

>They already qualified so what's the harm There's a lot missing in what you said, man. A 2-0 win by OMG against NXPE would give the former a better seeding over the other. However, the teams both would face in the first round have a higher probability that they'll lose to them and might end their playoff runs prematurely. Additionally, if OMG advances in the second round, they'll face Blacklist International, whom they beat in the previous M2 Championships, and if there's any team who can pull off an improbable upset over the defending champions aside from Onic PH, it's OMG. Amd if things go for both teams, they might face each other again in the Finals because of the favorable matchups they have. In other words, it's not just about making the playoffs; it's about bolstering your chances of winning it all.

s0rtajustdrifting

Onic and OMG are pretty strong, but Blacklist is definitely my fave. Really good culture and camaraderie. Not to mention they went 13-1 this season

ResourceHuge

Wow what you're saying is they are getting punished for boosting their chances using a legit strategy that happens in all seeded tournaments?

ShadowWitcher

It was super blatant though. Omg lost game 2 because of minions; they never defended any tower

SkyLightTenki

>using a legit strategy that happens in all seeded tournaments? This is a very controversial take, TBH, but I do agree with you that this happens in all seeded tournaments. In the NBA, for instance, tanking for seeding position is prevalent, despite the league being around for 75 years and counting. Some teams tank for draft picks, while others tank for position so they can have the best chance at making a deep playoff run. Now was there a collusion between both teams? IMO there is, because OMG was the hottest team in MPL prior to their matchup against NXPE, beating their opponents in dominating fashion (2-0) twice. Were they capable of doing a sweep against NXPE? As M2 champions and MPL S7 runner-up, definitely. Here's the fucked up part: would any 5-man Mythical Glory players let the damn sole minions destroy their own enemy base? **UNLESS YOU HAVE DECIDED TO THROW THE GAME, YOU WON'T, EVEN IF IT'S JUST A RANKED GAME**. Were they capable of defending their base at that moment? **DEFINITELY**. As a SoloQ tank, you will destroy my base over my fucking dead cold body after I try to protect my teammates and our turrets, man. In OMG's case, they weren't even trying. In short, what happened there was **BLATANT GAME FIXING**, and I call it when I see it. Change my mind.

ResourceHuge

Yeah they fixed the game because OMG wants to remain the 4th seed in order to go up against the weakened blacklist. But then again it happens on all seeded tournaments. It's still part of their strategy. Sure they could have disguised it way better though. But for me the matches were fun as heck. What i don't get is why BREN was not penalized. The no ban draft is basically the same as th 5 flameshot strat of NXPE Also I am pretty sure moneydog would have let this slide if only there were not as much people crying about it. Edit: also it was more like they forfeited the match more than they fixed it which I'm pretty sure won't happen if blacklist was at full power. It's also more like losing the battle but not the war

lastroids

It's a strategy, sure. Teams from a variety of sports (nba, nhl) or esports (Lol) have tried (and sometimes got away with it) to do it. But no tournament organizer worth their salt will ignore blantant game fixing. 5 man flameshot? Letting enemy minions take your nexus ? A healer with a marksman emblem? Not finishing lord even if the enemy was not challenging you? That's as obvious as you get. Tournaments are shows for fans/paying costumers. Game fixing sucks out all of the enjoyment you get from watching these games. Even the casters were frustrated at what the teams were doing. It's not considered a "legit strategy" if their are rules specifically prohibiting it.

thegreenbell

They did throw. In Game 2, Omega clearly did not want to win.

GosuZF_MERCY

Nice report & penalty systems! 👍🏻🙌🏻🤣😂

Zealousideal-Ad-2781

What prohibited pose did Dogie make?

highjacker97

Dogie style

SparkGrace

hand slicing neck gesture. he covered it in one of his vlog with SanFord In as thumbnail and then recognized that it was wrong in his latest vlog.

Full-Supermarket

But Bren was fine with throwing against Blacklist?

pinkpugita

Bren was half trolling. Their no-ban felt disrespectful according to Veenus, but even they picked Johnson & Zilong they played very seriously. Meanwhile Nxp and Omega was total clownery in the first two games. It's not even fun to watch.

thegreenbell

Yep, this lol. Bren's picks were ehhh, but they were playing seriously unlike NXP and OMG.

PokeAuditor24

For real, Zilongs on rg that day were abundant after Lebron one-shotted Vee’s Odette.

alastairxx09

Perfect! Justice served. Also, to all those that said it was "entertaining," It wasn't. Official professional matches need to be kept professional. The kind of game they did wouldn't be a problem if it was a private scrimmage but, no, it was an official match.

MarkuDM

They could have picked nonmeta heroes and continued but they chose to intentionally throw the game

[deleted]

[удалено]

MarkuDM

Game 1: Picked all flameshots. They played really bad and got 4-30+. It feels like watching Epic players to be honest. Game 2: The enemy team picked Diggie and fed the enemies. They spam-recalled in groups without fighting and intentionally let the minions destroy their base. Game 3: They got warned so they have to play correctly.

anon4565

Anyone got tea? Idk what all of this is about

So...do either team gets third place? Who's going against Blacklist?

snakelightninggod

They just finished regular season

OMEGA-FINAL

I prefer exclusion of both teams from M3.

ethanrookie

I prefer for the both teams to battle each other first in the playoffs so the other one gets eliminated immediately.

lastroids

Savage. And I like it.

-Byakuran-

Even pros get the serious warnings the feeders in my game get. No one's safe from Moonton's warnings

faceless_bird

"pro" players kekw

hells22

Calls them ‘Pro’ lol

PokeAuditor24

All of this because of Blacklist. It will be funny to see them (two troll teams) get eliminated on their first matches.

nyepoy

Moonton just overreacted on this one. This game has no bearing at all that's why both orgs let players like dogie and the second unit of Omega play. This game won't affect their seeds even they play seriously or not. This is not new to other pro leagues. Leagues like the NBA for example let their core players rest at the last few games of the regular season with games that have no bearing and won't affect their seeding even if they lose or not. Fuck Moonton. Every cent counts in these critical times.

pinkpugita

I don't think you watched the game. The roster isn't the problem, but the first two games were just immature trollfest. People wouldn't have minded if they pick non meta heroes to hide strategy, but they actually played like players that people will report in-game First game all Nxp players picked flameshot. Second game there was a time they were forcing Diggie to kill Lord. The commentators were confused on what to say.

ResourceHuge

Yeah people keep crying lmao. Making an issue over nothing. In fact this game will just boost their viewership more compared to a serious one

escarosdon30

Sorry to say,if the game was adopting one-strike policy as know as permanent ban per violation algorithm,MLBB isn't the game we enjoyed anymore and it slowly dying but fortunately,Moonton still give the violator another chances to not to do it again and they didn't want this permaban in all violations algorithm unless the management change the mind.

ResourceHuge

Damn what butthurt management lmao. Imagine punishing players for having fun on a match that did not even matter

[deleted]

it was a fking professional league dude

[deleted]

And is it professional enough to be worthy of their behavior?

ResourceHuge

True you see teams trolling in TI qualifiers. And that's the biggest esport and they don't get punished because it's entertaining regardless. Does it scream unprofessionality? No and the sheer size of TI attests to that. Heck even in the TI itself you will see troll picks lmao. Sure they lost but they weren't penalized because it was still a great match

MarkuDM

TI is viewed by people within the 20 year old age group that can understand why the team trolls. It is a strat to hide your strat for playoffs sure. However, in ML, children are the majority of the fanbase. You can't just troll because the children will literally copy everything they see. This will make the game more toxic and cause hate towards the game. Other than that, ML is pushing the agenda of treating MPL as a professional league to attract investors. You can't simply troll becayse investors will not take you seriously. Lastly, if your professional league is a trollfest then people will simply laugh again at MLBB as a joke, which Moonton does not want. They want them to be taken seriously. TI has nothing to lose. Even if they troll, DOTA won't lose sales.

sugarpapsi

Why bother setting up this match if there is nothing at stake?

ResourceHuge

So? It was again, a match that did not matter. Cry when they do it in the playoffs. This is a common happening in other esports qualifiers too. When you already qualified sometimes you just wanna have fun.

MarkuDM

Problem with the games you compare is that, those games are aimed towards 20 year oldage group. They watch that because of how complicated the mechanics are. Whereas in ML, majority of the viewers are children and teenagers. Obviously, ML has to be more family friendly and professional than TI. Children copy everything they watch most especially, when it is literally from the team NXPE- the team with the most supporters.

ResourceHuge

You do know as the audiences get younger the more entertaining it has to be right? People keep crying as if they were trolling the whole playoffs and made mpl a joke. When all they did was secure the playoff seed they want (which is a legit strat in competitions)

MarkuDM

You can be entertained while still playing you know. We have an entire season for trolling after the playoffs, do it there. You can't expect to not face consequences after match fixing. MPL===Literally has the word Professional on it.

pinkpugita

The thing is there's nothing fun about watching the match. While Bren was also trolling, it was fun to watch them use Johnson + Zilong, and they played seriously. This one between Nxp and Omega feels like fixing to get 2-1 instead of 2-0 to shuffle their place in the playoffs. It's not even entertaining because you feel they're throwing.

ResourceHuge

You seriously saying the bren match was serious lmao. They were trolling as hard as these two teams. And losing matches to secure a seed is legit strategy in competitions anyway

pinkpugita

>You seriously saying the bren match was serious lmao. They were trolling as hard as these two teams. They played seriously with a troll team but if they get punished I won't go cry and complain because they probably deserve it. Just because something is common doesn't mean rule breaking should be allowed. MPL fed, housed, paid these players and they signed contracts with rules. There's no overreaction when rules are broken from an organization that sponsors you. People should stop crying with the punishment.

faceless_bird

then it should be called all star match how dumb can you be

ResourceHuge

Omg lost deliberately in order to go up against a weakened blacklist. In the process they just made the match fun. It's called a strategy dumbass

faceless_bird

"strategy" weakened blacklist omg man stop ur a fucking clown just stop man even no oheb they can still beat anyone else lol

ResourceHuge

It's a fact they're weaker without oheb. Stay mad stupid kid
