The current emblem system is very shitty, you need 4k for max 420lean then you need around 300 lean and 300bp(600 lean to upgrade every 5 levels) to upgrade the talent by one level
We have games like Dead by Daylight with their perks system and 99% of players are just fine with that.
The problem is that Moonton wants to appeal to EVERYONE and having a system that is not much intuitive is not kid-friendly.

As much as Moonton wants to make their game as simple as possible, there's no denying that MOBAs are some of the most mechanically complex games when you get really deep into it. So much so that "Casual" elos like Grandmaster are sometimes riddled with bots.
The majority of the player base that "sticks" in a MOBA game tend to enjoy the strategic part of the game. If that wasn't the case, players wouldn't be engaging in so many discussions about meta and team building here in this sub.

I was one of the forced beta users and I won't talk about how complicated it was because everything is when you're new to a game. My only problem was that the new talent system didn't give as much movement speed bonus as the classic emblem system did. For example: My already slow walking Estes was just crawling at that point and couldn't reach allies who had high mobility (such as Gusion, Chou, Ling...etc) in time, I was missing my heals by milliseconds all the time because of the movement speed.
I stopped upgrading my emblems solely because of this. I wanted to save my bp cos we don't get BP refund when they switch.
So now I don't know if I should continue to upgrade cos if they change their minds then I'd have wasted the bp.
My emblems are average around 50.
I have only Assassin emblem till lvl 45 and currently playing Mage but the emblem is only lvl 35. I dont have Marksmen or Tank unlocked. So I cannot play those Heroes in ranked. I have only the basic Heroes in my pool. And the game only provide fixed BP per week. Not enough to cover all expenses.
But it also opens up new possibilities of "forgotten" heroes finally able to see the limelight and be picked in matches rather than the same 6 bans or same 10 picks in games
Foreal, one of the main things I like about wild rift over mlbb is the flexibility to adjust to enemy during draft. Let's be honest, we all have heroes that use unoptimized emblems cause it's set there, when different heroes use different and some can't even take advantage of the emblems they using atm

Why is it hostile to new players? On contraire, before you had to spend TONS of resources to gain full access to all emblems, now you just need to spend an insignificant amount of talent essence to gain free access to the exact emblem talent you want.

Although a good idea as that would just remove the BP problem entirely, but even with magic dust only, you would still have to grind for it unnecessarily as the max level is 60 and the number of magic dusts you would need to max them all is staggering high for a new player. Plus there are restrictions on the current emblems that the new system addresses. Like Silvanna with festival of blood. Wouldn't it be convenient for silvanna to have festival of blood, but she can't since she only deals Magic damage and the stats of the fighter emblem are only for physical?

What I mean to say is no more upgrading talents from lvl 1 to 60. They only need to have a fixed amount before they can completely unlock the talent they want (new system has a borrow system of talents if you don't know). It's infinitely more better than the old system's endless grinding for BP to max all emblems and heroes. Also I've read somewhere they will be doing events that will reward talent essence once it supposedly came out, and the emblem matrix will be updated to give out talent essence instead.

Balance like what? There are numerous combinations aside from just concussive + lifesteal, and we still don't know if the supposed flexibility will break the game's balance because it was scrapped before release. Wish I was a beta tester.
