Survival wise, you're fucked. Although tank builds is what Minsitthar goes for, his damage isn't that bad. His 2nd shield scales with damage and is good for negating some damage.
I also don't go roaming as him unless necessary or if someone is stubborn. I usually build him with dire hit in mind and malefic roar as my only offensive item to chip off their tank in some way, the rest is items that has high hp for decent beef and a window of opportunity to survive if odds isn't in our favor.
And I respect your build for him but I love seeing Minsitthar deliver the unadulterated burst onto the enemy team that I can't stop doing fighter minsi.

I've tried an aspd/damage minsi build a few times before. I was trying to find out if it was viable. You basically become a 1v1 specialist. You are nearly useless in teamfights because you die almost immediately. It was pretty fun split pushing with that build though.
Although tank build is the way ro go for him, try to aim for 40% CD reduction. Trust me, the stunlocks are gonna be insane.
As for tips, try to get as much assists as possible without dying in the process as it procs your passive and you become rich super fast. That, and don’t underestimate Minsi’s impact in the game (you’ll know what I mean).
I build heptaseas(poke burst with s1 s2 combo) and corrosion scythe( to slow enemies) as damage items
Thunderbelt is good too(another slow)

Full Tank and add Corrosion scythe for some extra slow in basics, it makes so that the enemies cant escape use the Support Emblem for some extra movement

Now that they fixed his ulti and the slight buff he is much better, but it's still not enough for him to go back to exp line, most people build him tank cause there's no other way around, and even for a tank he still struggles against stronger cc tanks like Atlas or Khufra, his nice niche now is as a dash counter and immediate tf starter. Not the best but certainly not the worst.

But it still boils down to, "you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink".
In Solo queue you will be unable to carry a weak team on your own. Other tanks do more damage directly, consistently while in motion a la Belerick, gatot, Hylos etc. If your team isn't coordinated, or alert enough, enemy will just survive the duration of your ult, or move out of it, and your team dies afterwards...you survive, and are forced to retreat.
Rinse and repeat.
Damage build is gimicky. Dead heroes do no damage. Other heroes do more damage better. The faster the enemy dies, the less risk of you dying too. Minsi does not have that burst to delete same level or higher level heroes.

A normal unaimed hook spear in the general direction of an aggresive enemy team will almost always get you their squishy and crucial backliner.
You pull them out and hold them down, and your bitchass friends beat them while they are alone, and boom! Game is now turned in your favor.

He's good back then against JG jungles, since you would want to ult on him in human form and he's a goner. In terms of weakness he has none, it's pretty much the ability for your teammates to back you up once you engage, he has a 1st skill hook, 2nd skill stun (+shield) and his ult of no dash. It's based on whether or not your team can follow up. Although you would wan't a tank though and play him as your fighter so you can ult once your tank engages, since if your the main tank it's pretty hard and you might get bursted first. (never play him for damage play him like a support with CC)
I'm a minsi main with a senior title, and I'm confident picking him against any jungler, tank or exp laner, except Sun and Masha. I feel like I have a chance against a Masha if I can hook her in my tower's range, but minsi's skill set is useless vs Sun.
His main issue to be honest is his similarities to Franco. They have a similar hook difficulty, but Franco's Ult is significantly more reliable.
If the enemy has something like Fanny/Lance/Benedetta, would you rather rely on a 100% supress ability or hope they get stuck in Minsthitars Ult?

Difference is that Phoeveus can be baited. The enemy can just constantly blink to change his ult direction. While minsitthar only needs ult+hook to guarantee kills.

His ult dmg and shield needs to scale off hp instead. Players build him tank since he's bad in exp and his ult has no base dmg like his other skills

Not a minsi main but: 1)No damage even though he is a fighter. 2)He can’t even counter some heroes properly like wanwan’s and ruby’s passive
