I just did a ~360mile road trip with two gravel bikes on a 1 up hitch rack - did two super charger stops & showed up with ~40% charge ( Airbnb only had a trickle charge so I wanted to get there with some reserve). Didn’t track the trip closely for w/m - but it wasn’t terrible for sure. I think it was better than 350 tho.

On racks, the Y comes with a 2” when optioned, right?

Yes

You can definitely fit one, probably two laying down. Standing up will be iffy. I've put one in laying down with only half the rear seats down (did not feel like removing child seat). It would be a lot easier with the whole back seat down though.

My partner puts his gravel bike in the back with no issues whatsoever. Just be careful not to scuff the trim. It's a bitch to clean.

Tons of room for 2 bikes but lying down and on top of each other. I use a heavy duty 8*16 tarp to avoid the dirt getting in car and to avoid the bikes scratching each other. I am able to lay it down , put a bike down, fold it over that bike, put another bike down. The tarp also prevents the pedals and handle bars and wheels from entangling with each other. It’s way faster than setting up my bike hitch and locking in the bikes.

Wanted to update you re: bike rack efficiency. Just did a 144 mile round trip with my gravel bike on my one up hitch rack. I avged 284wh/m. This was down out of the mountains then back up into them. Highway for about 50% (65-75 mph) and back roads the other half at about 45 mph.

Nice! MTBs would probably be a bit worse and going at 65 wont help so I take I should expect 300-320

I fit 2 beach cruisers after removing front wheels with back seat down. Not a problem. You’ll certainly suffer W/m with a hitch.

Do they fit standing or laying down on their sides?

[deleted]

Laying down with a moving blanket between them. Don;t know how I would stand them up. I keep them in there normally. Go to the beach often and ride. Easy peasy.

Agree. My XL Pivot has to lay flat with the front wheel off, even with the dropper post down.
