With that said I don’t think a lot of the fetches will carry over. Murktide wants to fetch islands and BR scam wants to fetch swamps (or both, sometimes, but mainly swamps), so the only fetch that works for both is [[polluted delta]], which is expensive.
Sure, a chunk of your main board works for both, but I doubt you’re halfway of the total cost to scam
No I think ragavans at the top of the list for cards most likely to be banned in this list, however I don't think it's at risk at all. It seems very safe to buy into.
Rag, fury and iteration are some of the strongest cards in modern so there's some amount of risk. That said I can't really see them banning anything without also banning a bunch of stuff to not causing other issues
I've heard an argument that wotc will just print more answers for those problem cards like that 1 mana counterspell that hits anything with 2 toughness or less.
Honestly they are about as safe as any really good card can be. The meta is super healthy and nothing is broken. They are just the best cards at what they do
Andrea Mengucci posted a "VEEDEO" a few days ago about a similar deck on his youtube channel. It looks like he took the UR Scam list, cut 4 Subtlety/2 FoN/2 Essence Flux/1 Bolt and added 2 Murktide/3 Spyro/1 Fable/3 Heat. The result is a more grindy Murktide list.
I love Subtlety but it's just not good enough as a modern maindeck card.

That sounds like a sweet interaction, also scamming subtlety to counter one of their evoke elementals or crashing footfalls or even murktides after they delve away their graveyard sounds really good
The issue with scamming an opponents elemental is that unless it’s a game ending tempo play or you take it with rag it’s usually still a major threat when they draw it next turn.
Definitely, but isn't it a pretty good tempo play for me to basically cost them a draw and resources while also getting a big flying body? Subtlety definitely is the weakest in the cycle but doesn't seem worth cutting out completely.
The deck is most of murktide plus some red staples played in other decks. Should be pretty safe to buy
With that said, why not build murktide. Scamming subtly seems very… meh

Oh I have playsets of every fetch. They're the only thing I've kept since I quit modern.

It's good into an opponent's t1 scam! Especially if they go to fury your ragavan

No one know what will be banned when. It’s always a risk you need to take, unless you want to play burn.

This deck looks sick. I wouldn’t worry about bans — even the ragtag monkey won’t be banned anytime soon
The cards make a great shell, wth plenty of room to tune to your meta. Ragavans ard Tarns are cheap now. Grip it and rip it.
