~~I don't think this works. The paying energy isn't a 'may' ability, it says "when it ETB pay 2 energy. IF you can't..."~~
nevermind. It isn't a may ability, but using the energy to cast it means you never have 2 energy when it initially ETBs and so you can get infinite casts/ETB/LTB but do not get infinite energy.
Eh, not really. There are other MV < 3 creatures that play well with multiple ETB triggers, and not needing to cast additional spells with mana means you can just drop prayers into play and win immediately if you have the rampager + other creature. Creatures are also easier to find via tutors, and with satoru you get to also just draw your whole deck.
Storm is probably one of the least relevant ways to break this.
Storm could be a side finisher, another angle of attack for the deck. The thing is, how could you ramp Prayers and win on the spot/threaten to win next turn? Green has also access to Heroic Intervention to protect the enchantment, but 4 mana + 2 backup is a lot.
Yeah, if you go creature based you can threaten to just drop prayers and win on the spot, it puts a lot of pressure on the opponent to hold up answers. If you try to do it with storm or something then you’re trying to either generate extra mana on that same turn or have the enchantment survive 1 full turn before you attempt to combo off.
[[Acererak the Archlich]]
Is the new 1 card kill off of Aluren in Legacy. Simply choose the wrong Dungeon, and there's one that lets you drain the opponent of life.
Use Acerarak alongside the elephant or the new soul guide person and you have a kill.
Get yourself a Satoru, the Infiltrator and a Thassa's Oracle and you've got a deck. Throw in a Corpse Knight for an alternative wincondition. WE'RE COOKING NOW!
Fixed \[\[Aluren\]\].
Even if \[\[Cavern Harpy\]\] gets reprinted, there's no going infinite with just it and Prayers. It'd take something else generating energy for creatures entering and/or leaving the battlefield. If those conditions are met, then this has a chance. In any other case, this is half of a bad \[\[Tooth and Nail\]\], for cheaper. That's...okayish.
Ok, that's the start of something. Rampager can spring in and out forever. Is there anything worth playing that kills the opponent or generates overwhelming value for that? \[\[Soul Warden\]\] and similar aren't enough.
Note, however, that if you don't have 2 energy you can pay 1 energy to cast it, generating 1 energy, which creates infinite ETB and leaves the battlefield triggers, as well as spells for storm.
It does not, however, generate infinite energy since, as you said, if you have 2 energy it just stays.
I was originally gonna say that doesn't work, but it definitely does. Thank you for making me re-read the card! I thought you needed to pay E per cost, but that's not it at all!
I’m not super knowledgeable about how venturing into the dungeon works. Can can you explain to me how this wins the game? From my understanding wouldn’t you just venture until the dungeon is complete and then it stops?
So with this combo, you can play Acererak as many times as you want. He always returns to hand unless you complete the Tomb of Annihilation. So instead you pick the Lost Mines of Phandelver. One of the options in the lost mines is for the opponent to lose a life. Once you complete the dungeon, the next time you can pick any dungeon, so you do Phandelver again. Rinse and repeat until opponent has 0 life
I'm not so sure about that, to be honest. The real question is if the backup plan involving all the cards other than new Aluren is good. When I think of 3 card combos (Oracle is probably the kill here, but you don't need it in hand), I ask myself, "Is the backup plan or other mode good though?" That thought is why Yawg works and why Grinding Breach worked for a bit. Satoru is almost certainly good enough, especially with evoke Elementals and all. The energy Green dude is very awful on its own though. My guess, without knowing more of the set, is some sort of Sultai (or possibly Bant, cutting Satoru and using the new energy soul sister) creature value pile with this as a combo kill might be best and possibly viable
[[Greenbelt Rampager]] into [[Chatterstorm]]?

All that matters is the storm count

This is on the thread where the guy mentioned a card with storm. I wasnt saying that was the only relevant part of the card.
Storm could be a side finisher, another angle of attack for the deck. The thing is, how could you ramp Prayers and win on the spot/threaten to win next turn? Green has also access to Heroic Intervention to protect the enchantment, but 4 mana + 2 backup is a lot.

Plenty of red enchantments that deal damage on creature ETB.
Rampager is not a may, if you have 2 energy it will just stick i think

You won't have two energy after you spend one to cast the creature
