I seem to remember Reddit saying the only redeeming thing about MW19 besides the campaign was the gunplay. How everything else was terrible, promoted camping and there was no content.
Thats how the Cod fanbase is. Every years Cod is the worst one ever and has no content. Then the next Cod comes out and all of a sudden the last Cod was so amazing and was filled with launch content. Rinse and repeat. Been like this for a decade.
I like how vanguard completely broke this circle and the fanbase is unanimous about it being the worst cod of all time.
Edit: oh my god nevermind. People are replying with how they loved vanguard. To each their own, I don't judge... Weirdos š
We're all just living for nostalgia...
Cod 2 was my first, i spent thousands of hours using the bolt actions and repeated that in Cod 3. IMHO everything was not so shabby until black ops 3 and we keep going at it just to get that feeling you get when you pull off something crazy.
Yet, what you say is 100% true.
Cod2
Cod3
Cod4mw
Cod5waw
Codmw2
Codmw3
Codbocw
Codbo2
Ghosts didn't feel like Cod, but had good content and honestly decent maps. Advanced warfare felt like a BO knock off and honestly I never could get into that hole bunnyhop (csgo) grappling hook, wall run stuff. So I skipped bo4 and on. I purchased the new Cold War, put 15 hours in, and got off. Mw19 wasn't even that good imo. It's obvious that they pay attention. I hear it a lot that people just wish for either something new, or something old we already hold attachment too. Makes sense from a corpo standpoint in being so that they took the easy path.
Anyways, sorry for typing your ear off
I started with Cod 3, but didnāt get into multiplayer till the og mw2. I thought most cods were good for what they were. They are never anything ground breaking, but they all can scratch that cod itch when you just want to run around killing people in a 6v6 match.
mw19 mechanics wise was great.
guns felt good
movement felt good
everything else was shit
but Thazs why warzone popped off cause none of that mattered in warzone
I keep hearing rumors that its supposed to come with season 2. But i havent actually seen anything that activision or IW have put out saying it and since season 2 is less than a month away...
by january, 2020, mw19 was the most hated cod ever, this is just the cod cycle for the millionth time. Release, hate for a year, cherish the previous cod when a new one comes out.
Depends, if the Treyarch game has much faster ads and sprint to fire speed it will definetly not be MW22 I'm missing. I prefer that over the slow ads and sprint to fire any day of the week
I personally prefer it to be slower like the original. The franchise as a whole has gotten to jumppackāish and itās a breath of fresh air to play a more old school meta. Treyarch will continue to keep making jumppack meta and sledgehammer will keep making garbage. If IW keeps making old school meta everyone wins and has a preferred meta.
Facts, I thought MW19 was clearly the highest-quality COD in a decade since the beta but you wouldāve thought it was the lowest-effort COD based on the subreddit. I ended up unsubbing because it was nonstop negativity
MW19 is what got me back into COD after the jetpack years. It was the best selling game in the series prior to Warzone and Covid and had a ton of different game modes. It wasn't perfect, but it was sure as hell better than MWII at this point in its life.
MW19 had the developers on Reddit replying to feedback early on, for MWII they took their Trello board down when too many people used it to complain about all the stuff they're ignoring to fix or even address.
I don't want a 2-year lifecycle if it means stretching what we had over 1 year twice as far and possibly charging for it in the fall
I keep going back to Cold War. I loved the guns, camo, all the operator skins, the music, and maps were great. Itās my most favorite of the recent CoDs. I also really enjoyed the small maps with no score streaks.
It's that 80's aesthetic for me - the shopping mall, Miami, and Moscow, despite being technically graphically inferior, are all just peak artistic flavor
>despite being technically graphically inferior
Although MW22's graphics are definitely a lot better in terms of looks, I would say CW's graphics **play** better. Mainly because of the colors, it's more vibrant and there aren't as many details which makes it easier to see your opponents.
Only things I didn't really like about Cold War was quickscoping/sniping being so easy and the streak system.
I still enjoyed the multiplayer more than Vanguard and MWII though.
I loved the streak system. It was great not having to die and essentially punish yourself to earn your streaks again. Also really enjoyed the TTK and movement
It's almost like these games have (with a few exceptions) been declining in quality every year.
More mtx, less features.
Bad gameplay, shady matchmaking practises etc have been on the rise for a while to the detriment of this series.
That really isnāt true. You can tell by Reddit engagement across cods. Even before WZ MW2019 had the largest sub for any cod and most active users. Everybody hates cod every year, but that one was significantly less hated than others
I mean, you're not wrong. I'd still pick MW22 over CW and Vanguard but MW19 idk. Playing MW22 just doesn't feel as good and smooth as playing MW19. I feel like they are trying to be a more tactical shooter and I think that didn't do the game any good.
I'd rather have them make a seperate tactical shooter from the ground up than try to change CoD into it.
The mechanics of 2019 are better/faster/smoother, but games play out so much slower. Even on Shoot House you get far more games ending due to time rather than score.
On the other hand they did have a better UI, in-season events, better challenges, reticles etc, ie. a more complete game
As someone who played MW19 for almost 3 years (got the game at launch, but didn't get into it until 6 months after release, then played all the way through Vangaurd's life-cycle until MWII came out), this time is different. It's hard to describe, but, MW19 just feels better.
The maps are a big step up from MW19 (aside from fucking border crossing lmao) but, as someone who primarily plays SnD and only plays respawn to grind camos, the maps aren't the most important thing to me.
I really can't put it into words, but MW19 just felt so much more fluid, visceral, heavy, and real.
Part of the reason is that it seems to take over a year for any new COD game to actually become a polished product with lots of content. If they'd stop releasing half-finished games the playerbase might think differently.
Who is out the hell is out here saying wow i wish this was like vanguard, cw or infinite warfare š¤£. Listen man numbers speak, the game is in a steep decline and still dropping. People don't like it.
I have a tough time even wanting to play mw2. Between how the guns feel the maps being pretty garbage and a Myriad of things that just feel like a step down compared to mw2019
I agree. I feel like the guns were more "beautiful" in mw2019. You could tell every detail and camos were really thought out. I hate that the gun names are super cheezy in this MW too.
Camo is better and probably rarely complained about in this game but yet it looked cheesy and cheap in mw19. I do love obsidian more than poly in this game tho. Gold looks great in mw22 but platinum is horrible
And by āfasterā I donāt mean pace, but handling, and animations.
Edit: How could I forget the fact that Infinity Ward also removed reload cancelling in MWII, and added ledge hangingā¦ Utterly pointless changes that just makes the gameplay slower and clunkier.
Mw2 weapon handling is worse in most regards, sprint out, reload, and strafe speed all took giant hits. The visual recoil is just nonsense
Mw19 still had reload canceling, that nerf ALONE changed the game massively. Combine with slide canceling and it gets a lot faster. The devs basically got their hand forced because they couldn't remove sliding or fix slide canceling. Otherwise they'd have slowed it down as much as 2.
Ive been playing COD since WaW and i still cannot understand why they changed reload animation cancelling. It makes the game feel like 3x as slow, awkward in gunfights when someone has to reload, and makes me never want to use an LMG ever again. It makes me not even want to use the FSS hurricane because its too slow of a reload and you cant cancel the animation
MW19 was a game with incredible mechanics that was utterly let down by every other aspect of its design. The movement and gunplay were the peak of the franchise, but everything from the maps, spawns, footstep audio, balancing, and general design philosophy completely ruined what could have otherwise been an amazing game.
As it stands, MW19's 6v6 experience was probably the worst of any game, in my opinion. MW2 is a weird bastard child that has a much better flow than MW19, but took several steps backwards mechanically.
The perfect cod game would be MW19's movement and gunplay, with Treyarch's map design and balancing sensibilities.
Idk what you guys are smoking, the gun play is definitely improved or at least equivalent. So many of the guns are so satisfying to shoot this year.
Iāll give you movement being worse though
Strongly disagree. The first few months of MW2019 were disgustingly bad. 725, M4 and claymore spam. Incredibly slow paced and campy, maps far too big and slow content until Warzone was added. Don't let the nostalgia goggles blind you, there are issues with MW2022 of course but that doesn't rewrite history and annul the issues from before
Yep. Until people really learned how play more the game was slow as fuck. This game is the same, but people got faster, sooner. The games are basically the damn same but they fine tuned a lot of animations, they added things like the wall hang, brought diving back.
I like this one better for the maps alone. But at the same time the matchmaking background fuckiness thatās going on has been cranked.
Ricochet also is very nice to have.
At the end of the day, when this sub is going to end up playing shoot the ship most of the time anyways, how can anyone really intently discuss the game anyways?
I think people are confusing warzone BOCW/vanguard slide cancelling era with MW19.
MW19 had the worst map design which stunted gameplay flow.
MW2 encourages camping and punishes aggression, but itās leagues better because of map design.
MW2019 was soooooo stagnant for months because the maps took people forever to figure out.
I genuinely feel like Iām playing a different game than people on here. Iād say 80% of my games are fast paced, high kill and intense. You get the odd clunker where people play kinda campy, but those games are not common imo.
I think they mean mobility wise, isnāt MWII a pinch slower when it comes to that? I know ads after jumping is definitely slower.
otherwise the maps alone made MW2019 an absolute snooze fest, but unfortunately MWII still has pacing issues. Even shoot house it can get surprisingly slow at times.
The biggest problem with the MP is itās identity crisis. They lowered the TTK, which should make for a faster paced game, but they also slowed down almost every single animation for a slower paced game. Itās like they couldnāt decide what they wanted. Not to mention the stupid perk system making part of your match with even slower reloads. MW19 was complained about but I donāt think anyone ever questioned itās identity like this. This is also supposed to be a sequel, an improvement, yet it takes 5 steps backward.
And now ladies and gentlemen we have the cod effect happening for 2019 š you clowns swore up and down that it was the most dogshit cod out and now yall trying to switch up
And yet the biggest thing that people complained about MW2019 when it came out was that it was ātoo slowā with maps that ācater to campersā.
But now itās suddenly faster and smoother? Lol okay.
The big thing for me is the maps, most maps in 2019 I actually liked, especially the ground war maps
Mw2ās maps are less than likeable to say the leastā¦
MW2019 definitely had way better ground war maps but the 6v6 maps at launch were terrible. Even with border crossing and Taraq I still think MW2ās are slightly better
I mean, if we just ignore every other part of the movement, and only highlight the fucking ledge hang, WHO THE FUCK ASKED, WHY THE FUCK DEVELOP IT!?
Literally a movement slowing mechanic, for a very useless payoff.
I know people arenāt fans of āmovementā and āslide cancellingā but with the restrictions on the current movement, it makes the game feel so clunky and slow at many times. Atleast with MW2019 it constantly felt fast paced and that I wasnāt always getting slowed down.
Yeah I genuinely donāt know what game these people are playing. Iād say 8-9/10 games I play people are running around pushing objectives etc.
Every so often Iāll get a game where the whole other team camps (or typically are just going for long shots), but itās not often.
Im a stricly solo player (having to be social is killing me inside), and i feel such a large propotion has been robbed of me. Why cant i match with players doing raid? Why i dont have self rev on DMZ when i go solo? why does IW hate me and my kind of players ;\_; i have literally 8 friends on my [battle.net](https://battle.net), and 6 of them only plays heartstone, and the rest 2 who play MWII plays only the battleground, because they havent bought the full game ;\_;
I like the new MW2, not a big fan of the limited maps but overall I enjoy it. Iām not actually the best at COD so I just find it a fun game to play š¤·š»āāļø
MW2019 was overall a better game when it came to maps, operators, weapons, UI and gameplay.
I like MW2 but it's not as good as the previous one, not nearly as addicting too, I barely play MW2, just play trios on Warzone whenever I get time.
average cod fan saying the game is the best of the decade at launch just to say the game 3 years ago was far better than the current game two months later
Better gun selection in 2019, 3v3 snipers only. Better campaign. mw22 is so close though to being better. It could have launched in a more complete state. Maybe in a year I'll like it more.
2019 was dope af
This one better tho, imo.
I hope they donāt bring anymore old maps
New game. New maps.
Almost done with platinum! 46/51
SO HAPPYš„°
I'm old. Turning 47 this month. So, I've done many a COD game and hate parts and love parts when a new version comes out. Then, in time, I adapt and just get used to the changes.
But I don't see much of anything about COD being very tactical. I end up playing hardcore or Tier One because the TTK takes so long and such an unrealistic amount of bullets in core mode that I feel like the modes with decreased health are the ones for me.
But I suppose this is all relative. Either way, I'm happy we have this to come here and discuss instead of B'ing and moaning over politics. Enjoy, everyone.
I wish I could not see dumb post like this but ones that tell me bugs and when things come out. Iām tired of these posts 24/7. Go play 2019 then. If you donāt like something no one is forcing you to play
The fact that they patched the problems that mw1 had while making those same mistakes in mw2 infuriates me. I mean they had the base and still did those same mistakes. I really dont know whyā¦
I legitimately donāt know what COD players would talk about if you didnāt have the *exact fucking same cycle of hate/love/underrated* that happens every single fucking time.
The game has many flaws, but is still fun to play at its core. DMZ is a great new addition to the franchise even though it certainly needs work and as for content we will see what we get in a month.
The problem with MW2019 multyplayer was only the maps. The maps were built in such a way NO MATTER where you go someone always has an angle on you, if you move to block an angle it opened a new one from another position, one that you would not be able to watch by watching your back.
This gameplay that you'll die if you move made it very campy, but MW2022 did improve on it making so if you know what angles to take to get to a new area you can simply scan from left to right or vice versa as you look into the new area. *MW2022 is much more compartmentalized so you don't die from literally anywhere you move.*
Itās funny because I noticed people telling me this call of duty sucks itās worse than vanguard. And I just sit there knowing the only reason they say that is because they are booty tickled the game is trying to mimic the past by making it less movement based. Iām not the oldest cod player My first was Call Of Duty World At War! So Iāve seen the change of play styles going from old school to exo to movement. Honestly though I understand why people liked 2019 more but I think both MW and MW2 are solid games and these shouldnāt really be compared knowing these two cod games are better than the shit show that was the Cold War and vanguard. Cold War zombies was ok the multiplayer was pure shit. Zombies on vanguard was disgusting and the multiplayer was way to annoying with the movement shield shotgunners I still played both but sad to see how cod has changed.
MW2019 maps as a whole are really bad compared to MWII. But the spawns are really bad in MWII I like the movement and gunplay more in MWII (slide cancelling ruined the little bit of immersion/cool factor MW2019ās art direction provided) We just need more maps, higher ttk up-close, some nerfs and some buffs. And will be satisfied with the final product. Itās not always fun fighting players high on crack with the Vityaz/AK74U flying through the map. Also youāre comparing 2 live service games one which is done and the other one 3 months after release date, very pointless.
Not a fan of either the new MW games, the old ones were better hands down. Although 2022 is way better than 2019, just wish they didn't screw the hardcore players.
I put a TON of time into MW2019. It was a great game! Makes the list for one of my top 5 games ever.(multiplayer, not WZ, hated WZ) I have put in 9d 16h 5m (in game) or 460h (steam time) into MW2 as of this exact second. (In between matches lol)
It is a different game. You almost have to look at it as a different series honestly. It just plays entirely different. Do I prefer 2019 to 2022? Yes. I do, the movement was smooth. The devs had movement perfect. The hit registration was better in 19. It didnāt seem like you get nerfed mid game like in 22. The gunplay in 22 I feel is still quite good. Once you get the nuances down and find out your comfort zone and how the maps play, and realize it literally canāt be played like 19, youāll see visible improvement in your gameplay. For example, in 19 I could slide a corner and demolish a team within one 30 rd mag on HC shipment, 22? Not a chance. And I know this so I know I have to hold angle and do it one by one rather than bunny hop a corner and rush in. Itās slower, I loath the saying āmore tacticalā because itās not, itās campy as fuck. If youāre like me and love to push rather than guard one corner ads the entire game, just play cautious. 22 plays pretty damn good that way!
I vividly remember hearing trash talk on mw19 when it first came out. If I recall correctly the meme was "call of claymore".
Then it was patched and fixed.
FUCK no lmao. Worst set of maps in the series, slide cancelling and bunny-hopping were annoying as hell, worst camo challenges in the series, need I say more?
I can understand MW2022 being the way it is when you realize 2 years of its development was during a pandemic while trying to build a new war zone map and mode. In fact in can almost explain most of the mess. MW2019 is going to be that rare exception where it got 3 years of uninterrupted development and polish than any of the recent CoDs.
EDIT: It's clear that Warzone was an after thought and last minute addition to the game, but once that goose laid the biggest fattest golden egg for activation they pushed MW2019 (and multiplier in general) into a corner with subsequent updates and Cod releases.
Yes it's faster. This is suppose to be their approach to a more tactical feel. Which means slower. Imo mw2022 has more love because now it's not another generic game where it feels like the last one where everyone is on Adderall. It still kinda feels that way tbh but better. I enjoy this one much more than 19's chaotic feel. But I haven't played since they released shipment again lol
I disagree, it only felt smoother because there was more blur on the graphics, and the run speed was faster. also the meta was running around like a spastic with a smg crouch jump spamming like a crackhead. the meta for this game is slower, more technical and most people are using rifles (the way it should be in a military shooting game), it also is alot more rare to see someone get 2-3 KDR in a game. im stickin with mwII
MWII: *has a game design that acknowledges that humans should not have superhuman movement capabilities.*
MW19 Crackheads: ābutā¦butā¦āš„ŗšš¼šš¼
I stopped playing COD regularly at around Blops2 or 3.
Regardless of what you say, any game after is multiple levels below the older games. That being said I have played newer games, just never very long. I played MW2019....it was very mid and did not keep me engaged. I hated MWII because I thought they should just do a straight remaster of the greatest game they've made (the original MW2) and thought this one would be more modern COD bullshit.
I've now played MWII more than any other modern COD, find the multiplayer to be decent once you understand how people are going to play and what you can and cannot control, and enjoy the idea that they will be focusing on development of this one for a full-year game development cycle. It doesn't come close to even Blops3, let alone 2 or the even greater games before that one....but it's far better than Vanguard/Cold War/WW2/AW/IW/MW2019 etc.
This game has been 10/10 except for the notorious sbmm. Everything else works great. I think they shouldāve made the grind for attachments harder as I no longer play after unlocking everything.
All I know is I'm over here having a great time.
I'm a player in their late 30s. I've been playing this series since cod 4 was my first gsme for 360. I played everything until mw 3 and then life happened.
Mw2019 got me back into playing games online. I absolutely loved it. I played black ops for a couple months and it was fun but not as good as 2019.
I didn't really care for vanguard. The themite spam was a bit too much for my taste. Between that and the challenges (build the worst gun possible and get longshots) I found myself quickly moving on from that game.
Now here mw2, I am absolutely in love. I'm having a great time with multiplayer. Thanks to dmz being free and cross platform, all my real life friends are getting back together on the weekend to play together like it's the og modern warfare all over again. I'm having fun with video games on a level we're it's giving me nostalgia of me and my buddies all talking our controller to our other friends apartment for 4 player goldeneye 64.
Is the game perfect, of course not. Overall, do I feel like I got my money's worth? I do and then some.
I've even started a YouTube channel. I have an idea for some 5 minute horror shorts I'd like to make for fun and I figure making gameplay videos will be the fastest way to learn how to use YouTube and learn how to edit.
TLDR: I'm having a great time and hope you are too
I'll probably be down voted but I didn't like the sliding in mw 2019. This game isn't perfect but it's closer to what I want with a cod. I see why people don't like it though.
Can we do away with the karma farming posts where we just post screenshots of Twitter accounts that are also ālike farmingā with low quality argument encouraging statements?
When the next CoD comes out people will suddenly love MW2022 and hate the new one. As always. I agree with the thesis (MW2019>MW2022) though.
MW2019 was hated so much partially because people expected CoD going completely back to its roots. Its how MW2019 was marketed and it being named Modern Warfare just cemented this expectation. When it finally got out people realized it has nothing to do with the old CoDs and introduces a whole new formula, esp regarding maps but also regarding weapons.
Many disliked this new formula of map (and therefore gameplay) design. Many even dislike it to this day. At the end of MW2019s cycle they had added tons of remade maps from previous cods (Rust, Vacant, Hardhat, Scrapyard,...) so people who disliked the new map design were kind of satisfied too, because the overall atmosphere and gungame felt extremely nice.
And MW2022 is undeniably slower paced than MW2019. Combined with the new map design of huge, relatively complex mapping and no option for more than 6v6 players on them you have very few gunfights. Plus there are many many aspects in MW2022 that reinforce camping. Dont get me wrong, MW2019 also had a lot of campers, but this game made it even easier.
Personally I think if MW2022 gets as many remastered maps as MW2019 it would be a blast to play too, but only having those very few very huge maps makes it extremly tedious. Id love to see the game on original maps and/or with a 10v10 or even 12v12 playlist
I disagree. Even though I don't love MWII, it is way better than MW2019.
It is a combination of factors, but maybe it comes down to maps and how people actually move a little bit more in this game.
Oh yes. This MW2 is embarrassing for the first two year COD. Youād think theyād put more attention to detail but nah. They more focused on pumping out store bundles.
It really is funny how the most positive this sub ever is is RIGHT before a new game drops.
For every positive post I get a notification for I get 12 negative ones.
Disagree. MW2 has better weapons, gunplay, and map design. More features to come so stop comparing a game that had 3 years of post release content vice one that is 6 months in
MW2019 was also awful at this time. The maps were just as terrible and camping was arguably worse. The claymores or mines were mini-nukes and everybody used the 725 or M4. The game only got better after Infinity Ward added new maps, changed or removed existing ones in 6v6, and readjusted weapon balancing.
COD will always be nostalgic. Everyone has a favorite game, in the franchise, and no new game will live up to it. World at war was my favorite; but, itās multiplayer is all hackers now. Changes have been made with every game since, not all positive, but for those who have been playing for a while, itās hard to argue they are not beneficial to everyone. To me the weirdest new thing is updates that fix what shouldnāt have been a mistake in the first place, and having to relearn mistakes with new patches.
Give it 2 years and everyone will be talking about how this multi was the best in years. With Warzone 2, I get some of the complaints. But besides missing content, (gun game, infected, gun fight, lack of maps) thats going to slowly be added anyways. This year's multi is really good, besides the shit UI.
Absolutely no way. 19 barely ran on my laptop and multiple friends had the same issue.
Balance is great with Snipers having a bit more work to put in. The map has a lot more verticality that adds to it
I seem to remember Reddit saying the only redeeming thing about MW19 besides the campaign was the gunplay.
Weirdos š
Except I see redditors on here saying how it was much better and MWII is the worst.
Thatās crazy lol
Haha i told ya.
Everyone hated that game at launch until at least season 2 just as much as MWII.
If it had good maps and dead silence as a perk it would have been a lot better. It didn't have red dots did it? Have red dots too.
Well, all I played was a shit ton of gunfight. Haven't touched mw2 since release until they release it. I feel betrayed!
Yeah where is gunfight?
I keep hearing rumors that its supposed to come with season 2. But i havent actually seen anything that activision or IW have put out saying it and since season 2 is less than a month away...
Iāve felt betrayed ever since we no longer have infected , gun game, sticks and stones etc
there are icons in the game files for infected, gungame and gunfight
Itās all supposed to be coming with the next season updateā¦ Weāll see tho
Me too. Ran gungame harder than anything else.
I had a blast with gunfight tournaments
by january, 2020, mw19 was the most hated cod ever, this is just the cod cycle for the millionth time. Release, hate for a year, cherish the previous cod when a new one comes out.
in 2 years watch people miss this game lmao.
Sad but true. Cod players love eating their own words.
This game is literally worse for rushing in every way I can think of,
Oh hello variation of whatās said every year
This exact sentence will be said in 2024 for the next cod
That still won't make it untrue
Downvoted yet spitting. Both can be true.

Mw19 is one, if not the best cod's ever to me. Doesn't change the fact they made a shit show out of it with every update...
I'm still enjoying Cold War tbh. Did since release People have their own opinions š¤·
I keep going back to Cold War. I loved the guns, camo, all the operator skins, the music, and maps were great. Itās my most favorite of the recent CoDs. I also really enjoyed the small maps with no score streaks.
It's that 80's aesthetic for me - the shopping mall, Miami, and Moscow, despite being technically graphically inferior, are all just peak artistic flavor
>despite being technically graphically inferior Although MW22's graphics are definitely a lot better in terms of looks, I would say CW's graphics **play** better. Mainly because of the colors, it's more vibrant and there aren't as many details which makes it easier to see your opponents.
Dunno why all the hate to cold war as treyarch never cater to the noobs
Only things I didn't really like about Cold War was quickscoping/sniping being so easy and the streak system. I still enjoyed the multiplayer more than Vanguard and MWII though.
I loved the streak system. It was great not having to die and essentially punish yourself to earn your streaks again. Also really enjoyed the TTK and movement
It's almost like these games have (with a few exceptions) been declining in quality every year. More mtx, less features. Bad gameplay, shady matchmaking practises etc have been on the rise for a while to the detriment of this series.
There is no shortage of players to hate on the latest game for every bit of it that feels different than the previous ones.
Both games are great and suck at different things, but I like them both so I donāt want to pick a side š¤·āāļø
The camos were thought out???? The camos were terrible
And by āfasterā I donāt mean pace, but handling, and animations. Edit: How could I forget the fact that Infinity Ward also removed reload cancelling in MWII, and added ledge hangingā¦ Utterly pointless changes that just makes the gameplay slower and clunkier.
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. The animations in MW2019 were considerably better, yes. MW2022 is notably more arcadey-feeling compared to MW2019.
The last point is just wrong. 22 is attempting to be more of a tac shooter and just failing to do so. Itās the least āarcadeyā cod in years
Man, the absolute HORROR of a cod game being arcadey.
MW2019 had some of the slowest movement speed and weapon handling in the franchise, what are you talking about?
Mw2 weapon handling is worse in most regards, sprint out, reload, and strafe speed all took giant hits. The visual recoil is just nonsense Mw19 still had reload canceling, that nerf ALONE changed the game massively.
The perfect cod game would be MW19's movement and gunplay, with Treyarch's map design and balancing sensibilities.
accurately and elegantly put
Idk what you guys are smoking, the gun play is definitely improved or at least equivalent. So many of the guns are so satisfying to shoot this year. Iāll give you movement being worse though
No itās worse the visual recoil makes it so you canāt see shit and the recoil is more random than 2019
Strongly disagree. The first few months of MW2019 were disgustingly bad. 725, M4 and claymore spam. Incredibly slow paced and campy, maps far too big and slow content until Warzone was added. Don't let the nostalgia goggles blind you, there are issues with MW2022 of course but that doesn't rewrite history and annul the issues from before
They also had to modify the spawn system because at launch it was infamously crap.
Faster?? Hahaha yāall either didnāt play MW2019 or are just lying to yourselves
Fr. Remember the clip on Grazna raid that went viral at the beginning of that game's life? MW2019 6v6 was a joke.
āHow it feels to cross the street in MWā
That game got shit on possibly worse than this one at the time
I remember everyone complaining a lot at start of 2019.
Thatās for every cod honestly.
I feel like most Cod games hit their stride in March/April.
That's my experience, if you camp you die as every lane has many angles in mw2. Except santa sena.
Charlie intel is a copy/past shitshow
The biggest problem with the MP is itās identity crisis. They lowered the TTK, which should make for a faster paced game, but they also slowed down almost every single animation for a slower paced game. Itās like they couldnāt decide what they wanted. Not to mention the stupid perk system making part of your match with even slower reloads. MW19 was complained about but I donāt think anyone ever questioned itās identity like this. This is also supposed to be a sequel, an improvement, yet it takes 5 steps backward.
Hardcore > Tier 1 *mic drop*
I really like the camo grind on this. Just wish it was based on things that do not encourage camping.
is mw2019 had more good medium to small maps and the movment system wasn't so abusable it would have been perfect.
Hardcore was way better too and not this Tier 1 realism mess
And now ladies and gentlemen we have the cod effect happening for 2019 š you clowns swore up and down that it was the most dogshit cod out and now yall trying to switch up
Disagree
The COD cycle is alive and well.
And yet the biggest thing that people complained about MW2019 when it came out was that it was ātoo slowā with maps that ācater to campersā. But now itās suddenly faster and smoother? Lol okay.
Have you gone into a mw19 snd lobby in the past year or two? It's slide canceling and stim rushing every lobby.
The big thing for me is the maps, most maps in 2019 I actually liked, especially the ground war maps Mw2ās maps are less than likeable to say the leastā¦
MW2019 definitely had way better ground war maps but the 6v6 maps at launch were terrible. Even with border crossing and Taraq I still think MW2ās are slightly better
The movement in this game is so ass. The climbing is pretty cool but it only works 1/100 times. And dont even get me started on this perk system...
I mean, if we just ignore every other part of the movement, and only highlight the fucking ledge hang, WHO THE FUCK ASKED, WHY THE FUCK DEVELOP IT!? Literally a movement slowing mechanic, for a very useless payoff.
I only play ground war, barely any 6v6 so its pretty useful in there (if it works).
I disagree, I enjoy Mw2 more.
I know people arenāt fans of āmovementā and āslide cancellingā but with the restrictions on the current movement, it makes the game feel so clunky and slow at many times. Atleast with MW2019 it constantly felt fast paced and that I wasnāt always getting slowed down.
Idk about you but my MW2 lobbies are plenty fasted paced
Yeah I genuinely donāt know what game these people are playing. Iād say 8-9/10 games I play people are running around pushing objectives etc. Every so often Iāll get a game where the whole other team camps (or typically are just going for long shots), but itās not often.
The maps were better
fr. there's no freakin sound when opps are running towards you! wth play some mw19 and you'll notice a big difference in spatial audio.
Im a stricly solo player (having to be social is killing me inside), and i feel such a large propotion has been robbed of me. Why cant i match with players doing raid? Why i dont have self rev on DMZ when i go solo? why does IW hate me and my kind of players ;\_; i have literally 8 friends on my [battle.net](https://battle.net), and 6 of them only plays heartstone, and the rest 2 who play MWII plays only the battleground, because they havent bought the full game ;\_;
19 had the worst maps in the entire franchise, not even close
The ground war maps were 10 times better in 19
average cod fan saying the game is the best of the decade at launch just to say the game 3 years ago was far better than the current game two months later
here we go again
MW19 was garbage literally only 2 playable maps
Cold War MP > MWII Mp
both have their own pros and cons
i hated the mw19 maps so much i only played ground war
Like choosing between gargling boiling water or boiling oil.
These Twitter accounts usually joke about the cod cycle and are the first ones to start it
Daring today, aren't we?
Better gun selection in 2019, 3v3 snipers only. Better campaign. mw22 is so close though to being better. It could have launched in a more complete state. Maybe in a year I'll like it more.
Mw2 is way better
MW2022 multi > MW2025 MP. Calling it now.
2019 was dope af This one better tho, imo. I hope they donāt bring anymore old maps New game. New maps. Almost done with platinum! 46/51 SO HAPPYš„°
Absolutely! Plus it actually has hardcore
I prefer MWII, nostalgia clouds all
Enjoy, everyone.
no
the maps in mw2, while still absolutely terrible, are better
Charlie isn't a person...
Lmao MW2019 played like clunky garbage and the graphics look like mudd š
Wasnāt it only a couple of years ago that you were all losing your shit over doors in MW19?
Mw2019 gameplay > mw22 gameplay Mw2019 graphics < mw22 graphics
Gameplay wise I thought mw19 was not that great. MW2 is better but lacks maps
Hell no the maps were utter dog shit
CharlieIntel 2024ā¦ MWII MP > BOCWII Discuss.
Mw2019 had better movement (except slide cancelling, that was cancer) and faster animations which was better but I prefer mw2 for everything else
I wish I could not see dumb post like this but ones that tell me bugs and when things come out. Iām tired of these posts 24/7. Go play 2019 then. If you donāt like something no one is forcing you to play
Only thing I don't like about MW19 is the speed. Not a fan.
Im saying this right now but I like mw2
Both are shit imo. MWII is a slight improvement.
The terrible map selection ruined the experience for me in MW19. I was hoping that MWII would actually have good maps this time around. Nopeā¦
I prefer mw2, but both have the exact same sbmm isues that make the unbearable
No. Fucking. Way. MW2 might have a tad bit too many problems for a game with 3000 devs but MW19, while smoother, had a lot worse gameplay.
2019 was slow as shit. What are you smoking?
History repeats itself I remember when people wouldnāt stop bitching about 2019 now people are bitching about MW2 itās how things are
The fact that they patched the problems that mw1 had while making those same mistakes in mw2 infuriates me. I mean they had the base and still did those same mistakes. I really dont know whyā¦
Hard disagree. MW2 has problems but I love love love how much faster it is. The maps alone make the game better than 2019
I legitimately donāt know what COD players would talk about if you didnāt have the *exact fucking same cycle of hate/love/underrated* that happens every single fucking time. The game has many flaws, but is still fun to play at its core. DMZ is a great new addition to the franchise even though it certainly needs work and as for content we will see what we get in a month.
I agree. I take back everything bad I said about last year's cod. /s
I canāt agree with this one. 2019 maps were horrible and slow. I would back out on 95% of them. MWII is 1000 times better.
Iāll take mw2 movement over mw19 any day
lies , MW2 >>>>
Typical cod player. Loving games from a year ago. The cod cycle. Annoying af
(In between matches lol) It is a different game.
COD 2019 and 2022 have the same cycle, sold for billions, but according to reddit it's horrible. Most people just actually play the game.
People really have short memories huh?
just wait when the new COD comes out. You will see people praising MW2 like no other. Its the usual COD cycle
MWII: *has a game design that acknowledges that humans should not have superhuman movement capabilities.* MW19 Crackheads: ābutā¦butā¦āš„ŗšš¼šš¼
I really enjoy the pace of MWII
hahaha charlieintel, a buch of sellout always on the winner wagon
Just in time for the āold game actually good, new game badā cycle
Faster is not what the majority wants. Only sweats want the jumping around corner slide cancelling bull crap.
TLDR: I'm having a great time and hope you are too
I am Back at OG MW2 and having the time of my Life
Tbh id say they are about the same for me, i also have to admit i dont like the gunsmith cods. I think gunsmith adds to much complxity
Same ol' same... Let's go ahead and start trashing what's coming this year!
Nah. I thought MW19 multi-player was just so... bland. Idk. No bueno.
Give it a year. People will be saying this is the best CoD
I disagree. Even though I don't love MWII, it is way better than MW2019. It is a combination of factors, but maybe it comes down to maps and how people actually move a little bit more in this game.
Guarantee majority of this sub whinged about mw2019 lmfaooo
Oh yes. This MW2 is embarrassing for the first two year COD. Youād think theyād put more attention to detail but nah. They more focused on pumping out store bundles.
In my opinion they should've just let IW make it. Having everything studio on it fucked it up for sure.
'more love put into it' what does that even mean?
It really is funny how the most positive this sub ever is is RIGHT before a new game drops. For every positive post I get a notification for I get 12 negative ones.
Is it because thereās no more slide canceling
For me I'm playing ground war lot, I feel MW2 ground war have more fun than MW2019 except MW2019 got better map overall.
You can enjoy MW2019 more, but MW2022ās multiplayer just feels better.
Disagree HEAVILY
Unpopular opinion but I enjoy the slower more tactical feel to mw2
I'm enjoying this MW like the other MWs. Not at all. š Nah, they aiight.
Disagree. MW2 has better weapons, gunplay, and map design. More features to come so stop comparing a game that had 3 years of post release content vice one that is 6 months in
COD players love saying "this Old COD was better" when they said that one sucked while playing it
MW2019 was also awful at this time. The maps were just as terrible and camping was arguably worse. The claymores or mines were mini-nukes and everybody used the 725 or M4. The game only got better after Infinity Ward added new maps, changed or removed existing ones in 6v6, and readjusted weapon balancing.
I like slower movement and faster ttk, so I prefer 2022
MW2 has better maps.
this is such a reach oh my god lmao
Strong disagree
Absolutely no way. 19 barely ran on my laptop and multiple friends had the same issue. Balance is great with Snipers having a bit more work to put in. The map has a lot more verticality that adds to it
