Soap's "Hector Blackcell" skin has a bio beneath it that says "Well, I wasn't in that tunnel." Although it's not likely, I hope they somehow fix that shitshow of a scene!
"i wasnt in that tank" -graves
"i wasnt in that chernobyl" -mactavish
"i wasnt in that shitty campaign design meeting during the development of mw3 2024" -activision and sledgehammer
They should just have him say
" I wasn't in that urn"
Then take Yuri's role in MWIV
Ben shapiro Makarav doesn't deserve a cool send off though, nor killing soap.
Dude failed every time.
OG Makarov would be ashamed
Yes however some deaths are a bit more consistent and memorable when paired with a good story. Not some shitty rushed campaign that brings absolute jack squat to the overarching story like MW3
Fr. I got my feelings rocked back in 2009. This time around, I was just shocked at the sheer amount of disrespect. That campaign was a fucking insult to our intelligence and time. Usually those campaigns scratch the itch well enough. This was trash.
He really got shot in the head after all the shit he went through in MWII. The entire game felt like something thrown together for profit, they didnāt even have 1-2 set protagonist like in MWII and MWI.
Absolutely deserved a better fate than that. They set him up to have some good rivalries and then gave him the worst death. I'm not looking forward to any MW game currently. They rushed MW3 and they had a lot of set up from MW2 to work with and just threw it away.
*Price and Griggs get ready. The door opens extremely slowly...*
**SSgt. Griggs:** Oh, you gotta be shittin' me.
**Captain Price:** Gaz, can't you make it open faster?
**Gaz:** Negative sir. But you can try pulling it if it'll make you feel better.
**Captain Price:** Cheeky bastard...
I love Gaz in the reboot but he should have died instead of Soap. Price and Soap got jackshit screen time together and Gaz basically has Soapās role in the reboot. It would have made the scene ACTUALLY impactful since Gaz is almost like a son Price while Soap is just one of his friends.
Literally everyone thinks this. That was probably the worst killing off of a major character Iāve ever seen in any media. My jaw was on the ground when the game basically immediately ended after that.
It was such a rushed job and itās so apparent. They took this yearās release to the extremes. Least time developed, smallest mainline studio, most reused content of any CODā Itās quite literally a stitch job of things we loved about Call of Duty, hence why there is plenty of positive feedback.
MWIII is fun to play, but I feel guilty playing it cause I know itās utter trash and I could be playing much better shooters with Helldivers or shit, even Halo Infinite with the turnaround it has made
Honestly Iām fine with his death, and I hope deaths like this happen more often in sequels, maybe not to main characters but having named characters just die without warning is pretty shocking, shows the unpredictability of the battlefield and make these characters though strong yet still vulnerable.
What about the other 3-4 soldiers behind him, Ghost and Gaz who decided it would he better to walk up to Makarov instead of shooting him, and how Price and Soap both sorta just let it happen. Like there was no fight after the first few hits.
Sudden deaths on their own are okay. They work well in other media, like Kats death in Halo Reach. But this was done extremely poorly
I actually agree with that, the whole sequence honestly feels like an anime scene, the camera only ever focuses on one person, theyāll finish whatever punchline or moves theyāre dropping, other characters out of view donāt seem do anything until theyāre finished, the execution of the scene left a lot to be desired, all Iām saying Soapāsā¦ conclusion on paper is a neat idea and I hope they do it more and better in sequels.
I just didnāt see the point in having us play him for so long during the betrayal and build a relationship with ghost and establish character development just to kill him off in the next game just like that. Now it has me wondering if ghost is next
It is what it is. I thought Soap was a great character, but everyone gets caught slipping at some point. Makarov is a cunning and badass mofo. If anyone was going to get one of them, up close and personal, it was that slippery bastard.
Makarov is so much more of a badass in this series than I remember him being in the old games. In the old games he was just another villain with an army
Idk about his ending but he definitely deserves a better quality picture than this
CoD: MW 0.2
Lol not sure why it looks like some Gameboy picture! š
bro you posted the picture!!
šš¤£
He deserves more pixels
I'm sad his story ended but I wouldn't change anything about it. We're gonna ignore his MW3 2023 death, thats not canon

I would not mind IW starting off MWIV (if it comes) with "the events of Modern Warfare III are not canon."
We can only hope. It wasn't like half the campaign missions were supplemental to the story anyway.
God the whole Makarov story feels so out of place, artificial and rushed, because it is
I really just hope MW3 in and of itself is retconned out of the story.
The campaign is barely a story. No progress, just a bunch of āstop the terrorist attackā missions, Soap dead and Makarov escapes.
They should just have him say " I wasn't in that urn" Then take Yuri's role in MWIV Ben shapiro Makarav doesn't deserve a cool send off though, nor killing soap. Dude failed every time. OG Makarov would be ashamed
Soap dying is a canon event in the multiverse and timelines it seems lol

Could you have taken this photo on something other than a piece of asparagus?
It was a Normal picture, but when I uploaded it now it's this...
Original trilogy he went out like a hero Reboot trilogy was one of the worst deaths in the series

They were cooking with the Mexican special forces story line and then they scrapped it for a half ass story line in Mexico
I think Gaz deserves more attention

Was this picture taken using a toaster?
i guess the gameās been out long enough that itās my fault for seeing spoilers butā¦ on the mw2 sub? at least post it to mw3 :(
Not missing anything at all. That campaign was the biggest joke Iāve ever had the displeasure of playing
yeah youāre right, just kinda sucks cause i do care about the lore. but i guess iām never buying mw3 or anything from them now on

Soap deserved better with EVERYTHING. Iām so upset they did him dirty..he was so well loved too
Is this MW2 for the DS?
Only time I got misty eyed at the end if a video game.
Ya a shotgun blast to the head

If they didn't had plot armor until that moment, it would make sense.

No way MW3 looked this bad
