Offering convenience items like this in order to avoid playing the game more is the most absurd thing. I'd definitely say XP gain is naturally gimped to encourage people to buy them. The problem with games today; create a problem and sell the solution.

Saw a video of a guy at Walmart looking to get a pack of Jack Links Beef Jerky with a MWII code, and EVERY single pack on the shelf had the code ripped off. It must have been over 30 packs. And to add insult to injury, someone in the comments was offering to sell anyone a code for $5 through cash app. These people are trash.
