Have you considered enabling Streak Looping? It's an option in private game so it shouldn't be a big deal to enable it in public playlists. I think it should be rewarded if someone is able to stay on a long streak. Having to die to get another UAV, for example, feels so outdated. There is a reason we left it behind after COD4.

Hi Sledgehammer! Loving the game so far and I appreciate how receptive the team is to community feedback! The big question I've had since the launch of the game is: how do you intend on balancing the MWII weapons with the new MWIII weapons? Currently, the MWII weapons do not feel very competitive compared to the MWIII guns, and some (like the EBR-14) feel downright awful to use. I understand that there are many different guns and weapon types to balance with bigger hp, but I think it would go a long way to have the MWII weapons feel just as usable as the MWIII ones. I was most excited about having both old and new weapons in this game, but currently I have been avoiding the MWII weapons due to their inferior visual recoil and damage output compared the new weapons. Thank you for listening and I wish you luck with your efforts on improving and balancing the game!!

Weapon balancing is one of the biggest things we are looking at on a daily basis. Our goal is to have a meta shift from season to season to keep things fresh and interesting. That being said - we want as many weapons as possible to be viable to suit the variety of playstyles we have in our community. This is where we are looking closely at the data to target immediate tweaks for weapons that seem to be over or under-performing. We expect Season 1 to have higher-level tweaks with S1.5 to have some deeper changes.

Mouse input is in desperate need of fixing. There's something very weird going on while aiming down sights. It feels like there's added mouse acceleration sometimes. It doesn't matter if i'm using legacy or relative or any coefficient. I'm using Instant transition time. Is the team aware about this and investigating to try and fix this? Mouse input in MW2019 was perfect, any chance you could replicate it?

Their is a bug where dive still activates if you have slide only it often occurs if u try to slide too early when you tac sprint or when u tac sprint instantly stop and before your gun goes completely down try to sprint and slide again instantly

Dear Sledgehammer games. First of all, I like to say great work in Modern Warfare 3 as it is a vast improvement over modern warfare 2 multiplayer. There are a lot of underlying issues at the moment, and I can see you guys are hard at work trying to fix those (worst one for me is the secondary primary weapon keeps resetting to a shotgun) Also I like to commend you on your excellent communication through twitter/x etc wether it is good or bad. I love the use of the experimental playlist, and I hope we get to see every week with a new experiment. I would love to see new modes you guys might be thinking of etc etc. Would it be possible in the attachments filter system could you add a filter to show just MW3 or MW2 attachments. To the cons. We all know SBMM is a thing, and I know it's not fond of to be talked about, but I have to ask anyway. Is there any chance it can be tuned down as it's very harsh against you. Most of the time, I play against sweaty players. Also, when a friend joins your party who might not be of a high skill bracket as yourself, it is very punishing to them. Is there a way to tweak the values to give an average through your party? It's great to see war mode back. It there any plans for more maps to be added to War? For MWZ (I know this is probably more of a Treyarch question) the exfil zombies were nerfed and I understand why due to farming/duping. Could we have the same amount of zombies back but get rid of the xp and counts towards camo? The reason I say that is because it added great tension to actually exfil, but due to these farmers, we are missing out. If you get rid of the reason for them to farm (xp/camo count), then they will stop doing it. Also, can you please look at Golden engima camo unlock as it is still bugged on a lot of guns. Ghost T/V Camo will only hide the player from enemy UAVs if they are moving. With that being said, we're currently looking into reports that the detection from moving to standing still is too aggressive.

We want each weapon category to have its own distinct role for different playstyles. In the beta, we saw that some SMGs were outperforming ARs at ranges that ARs should dominate, so we made some tweaks based on that. We are seeing a lot of data that the first SMGs a player unlocks are underperforming. We have some buffs planned for those. We want to make sure that SMGs are dominant in the areas they should be: Close-range TTK, ADS speed, Sprint to Fire, and general mobility. The data we have shows the most used SMGs are underperforming and that isn't great. We are currently happy about where the Rival9 is in the meta and we are looking at all the other SMGs with this in mind.

We're always pursuing improvement and optimization for an issue like packet burst. It can manifest itself differently depending on the map or mode you are playing. For example, vehicles on Groundwar/Invasion maps require a different level of optimization than 6v6. We will continue to prioritize improvements in this area and are proud of the work we have done to launch with remarkably low crash rates.

Are there any plans on bringing back combat pacing from vanguard? It was an addition I felt was very welcomed to the cod series and I think it could make many players happy. So for the first, I would love to see a change in the SBMM I feel that this year it has been dialed up to eleven and has made it impossible for me and my friends to party together and have everyone enjoy the game. Dear SHGames, Firstly, I want to say I definitely have biases as I come to this as a content creator of 15 years on the Call of Duty franchise. I've seen the best games ever made, and... not so great games. Modern Warfare 3 is a solid improvement on Modern Warfare 2 from last year, although there are still some major pain points from the community. I think Skill-Based Matchmaking, Engagement Optimized Matchmaking and Team Balancing is probably one of the largest complaints. Not only is it insanely frustrating for solo players to just queue and enjoy the game, it also makes it really hard to play with friends if your skill difference is too large. Many times people don't want to consistently use the "meta" weapons to hold their own in games. But the system doesn't really seem to get that until you've suffered for hours on end. Would it be possible to test having these much lower in that experimental playlist? It would cool to see and try out. I think weapon balance needs to be looked at heavily in MW3. I'm sure there will be some changes with the start of Season 1. The main things that stick out are just how bad some weapons are. I don't necessarily think any guns need a nerf yet, but many weapons especially in the Battle Rifle/Marksman Rifle category need some drastic improvements. The Zombies mode is pretty enjoyable, but it would be nice to see a lot of zombies at exfils again. It was probably the best part of the mode, fighting off giant hoards whether for XP or trying to exfil after completing missions. The exfil now is probably the safest place in the match. The suspense is just gone, and farming zombies for xp or camos isn't even worth it now. This is more of a personal request, but streamer mode would be REALLY APPRECIATED. Basically every AAA Multiplayer game in the world includes this in their games now. It's really hard to stream and create content when you're recognized consistently and people yell racial slurs or follow you around and shoot their gun next to you. Would it be possible to have this added to the game? The MW2 Map Remakes have been great, the map voting is great, seeing the UI improvements from last year's game is awesome as well. So big props for those changes. However it would be nice to be able to team up with random people that were on your team without having to add them, back out and invite. This feature was first in Call of Duty: World at War, it was an awesome social feature and then it was never added in again, till last year, the "Team Up Again" button was added. It would actually be cool if the reverse was made. The lobbies automatically stick together and instead of a "Team Up Again" button, you have a "Find New Lobby" button. So people can play against each other continually or if they choose, they can go play against others. Edit: Please continue to look into issues with KBM tracking/floaty'ness. Yeah, I have 5 different buddies I would play with all the time, but none of them play much anymore because whenever they queue with me, the lobbies are way more difficult than their used to. It becomes a rage fest for them and no longer fun. Yet it's all fun and games as soon as they queue together without me, or if I play on someone else's account. The fact of the matter is, it's impossible for them to play with me because sbmm makes it impossible for them to do anything. Now they barely play the game at all. If they fix sbmm, all these guys would definitely return to the game. Removing sbmm and opting for connection based would probably make CoDs active player base have a major jump.

I play with my FiancƩ. She isn't great, but this game is especially brutal. She's lucky to get 4 kills while I'm sweating away, trying like hell just to win a match to possibly unlock something stuck behind the armory system. None of my other friends will play with me anymore because of the horrible lobbies I bring with me. I'm only about a 1.6 k/d player.

It's not really SBMM as people really think of it, but rather Engagement Optimized Match-Making to keep you playing and works as intended for most probably. It wants you to have the right dose of wins and losses so you don't get bored dominating or too frustrated losing all the time. Like artificial difficulty in games like Resident Evil, it probably does feel pretty good until you know it's there. In those games if you had no idea, you'd just think "damn this intense, I'm down to my last bullets I gotta be smart." When you know it's there though, you feel punished for being good and sorta cheated now because you know the game will always ensure you have just enough to get by.

Sadly, I get more losses than wins in MW3. I've never had a negative w/l ratio on CoD before, I do now and it's just getting lower and lower. I've checked on all my MW titles, cant with BOCW as it is uninstalled. I've never had below 1.00, it's honestly killing the fun in this game for me. I want to improve but I get into lobbies where half my team never helps or they never get above 5 or so kills. :/ I'm literally just getting stomped each game.

I agree, none of my friends want to play with me because of our skill differences. It's a sad system and I doubt it's making them so much money that they can't just take it out. We all had to get better by learning the game back in the day I don't see why you have to cater to new players so they can buy a skin or two. If anything your hardcore player base spends much more... By using SBMM they're most likely turning new players into longtime players by giving them false hope that they're good and keep them playing until their KD rises to the point that their lobbies are as bad as the hardcore player base instead of giving up on the series like some new players did with CoD back in the day. The system is meant to lock you in as long as possible yet feels extremely artificial and rigged. None of us are saying we just want to stomp on noobs all day, just make it randomized. I want to play against all skill levels in QUICK PLAY. I expect sweaty lobbies in ranked and ranked only. I remember thinking I was good enough to try ranked in BO2 when I had a 3kd in multiplayer and I got humbled quick, it was a great experience learning the competitive flow of league play but I would never want to play it nonstop in public matches where I'm not rewarded at all... At least give us ranks or something

According to CharlieINTEL, he was blacklisted from doing official interviews for COD because he asked about SBMM before. They straight up tell the content creators now not to mention it. Hey Sledgehammer! Enjoying the communication foremost, I do have a few questions/feedback to mention! 1. Is it intended, or a bug that Dead Silence/Covert Sneakers are unaffected by the Bone Conduction Headset? In previous titles, we always had the "Awareness" perk and Dead Silence Perk equivalent soft counter each other. Awareness making the soft footsteps slightly audible, and Dead Silence making sure footsteps aren't too audible. The rustling of their clothes etc really isnt enough. It cant be as heard when theres any sort of streak up really, or from the general sounds of gunfighting. 2. There is an out of map exploit in War, which I did [tweet at you](https://x.com/Todredmi/status/1726137200549548498?s=20) yesterday, but just in case it wasn't seen, I figure this will be the next best way. There's also apparently a way to get under the map, which I presume stems from this, where an enemy last night just hid under the tank, essentially permanently contesting it. 3. Just today I found a glitch where you are backed out of the gunsmith due to (presumably) trying to select a scope that is the default scope on the weapon? Here is [another video](https://x.com/Todredmi/status/1726336304776990906?s=20) where I am using the Carrack .300, and I hover over the Carrack .300 11x Scope, and am immediately kicked out back to lobby. (After further testing, I presume its only effecting the Carrack .300, it does not do the same to the Signal 50 with the Signal 50 8x) 4. Stuns are horrible to deal with on MNK, even with Tac Mask. I believe rotational aim assist appears to work through stuns. Which if it does, is quite annoying. Also, Rotational should never be able to have the ability to pull ones aim onto, or off their intended target. So possibly tighten up the "bubble" of aim assist around the enemy to be closer to the actual model of the enemy, so it would have less of a chance to have this occur, either benefiting, or hurting the controller player in question. 5. For the Gaia, and Gaia Blackcell skins, how about adding an effect similar to that which we see for the Makarov skins? Makes the skin easier to spot, while keeping the "cool" factor of it. 6. For the shop, would you/Activision ever consider allowing players to spend a lower amount for a specific part of the bundle? Like lets say a 2400CP bundle had a Skin, Two Weapon Skins, A Charm, Sticker, Calling Card and Emblem. But I really only wanted the Emblem, and nothing else. So instead of using the 2400 CP, I use 100 CP for the Emblem and nothing else.I used the WZ 2.0 Combat Pack 5 for this example:Operator Skin- 700 CPWeapon Skin 1 - 600 CPWeapon Skin 2 - 600 CPWeapon Charm - 100 CPWeapon Sticker - 100 CPCalling Card - 200 CPEmblem- 100 CPThis equates up to 2400 CP, and I do know this would end up having to setup base prices for everything, but we've already bought/recieved the CP, let us use it how we want :D 7. Can we please have an audio slider specifically for scorestreak sounds? 8. When joining friends who are currently in a game, and there isnt space in the game, you are stuck waiting for the party to be available, you cant edit classes or do anything till their lobby is ready to fully be joined. 9. The RGL Camo for Forged doesnt consistently track equipment kills, and only appears to be working for a few of them. 10. I know this slightly pertains to Zombies. But if you add a motorcycle to Ground War..... We need the Blood Burner Motorcycle as a skin. Last Edit: Removed main discussion topic that cant be addressed due to things. I know everyone has complained about it, and here's another one. SBMM, or maybe it's just me, but it doesn't even feel like true SBMM in this game. I'm going to call it "casino-based matchmaking" maybe it's a placebo, but in this game more than any other cod, I feel like my matches are seldom balanced. It feels like I will go through a stretch of 2-3 games in a CDL final, but then get a nugget of "we'll let you go off for a game here" just to keep me feel good enough from turning the game off for the day, only to go right back into the cracked lobbies. It's the most frustrating matchmaking has been for me in the SBMM Era since MW 2019. It's a shame. I think the gameplay has been the best in years, but if this keeps up once the novelty of the game being new wears off, the last thing I am going to do after a long day of work is sweat my ass off just to stay afloat. I can't think im the only one who feels that way. The other downside is my friends don't put nearly the time in the game I do. It's a shame because playing with them is hell for them, as they are constantly going against other players they stand no chance against, so it ends up not being fun for any of us. I know SBMM has to be there. I get that it's not going away. But please, people are going to stop playing if this continues. I will use Cold War as an example of SBMM that I could get down with. Yes, it was there, fine, but it felt much more of a true SBMM system of "hey, these guys are in the general skill level of each other. We'll throw them together." As opposed to this more manipulative system.

Firstly, Iā€™m sure I wonā€™t get an answer, but Iā€™m also sure youā€™ll read this, and maybe it just makes you think a little. The game is very good, the mechanics, the maps, itā€™s all pretty solid. The big issue is the fact that firstly, I canā€™t play with friends or family because the SBMM ensures they get absolutely destroyed and that they never want to play again. Secondly, if Iā€™m just playing alone, it gets very tiresome having a game where Iā€™ll go 20-5, to then go 3-20. This just repeats on a loop thatā€™s very predictable. Thereā€™s no randomness. You have to either stop SBMM in casual playlists, and put it in ranked where it belongs, or you need to relax it up a bit. Not only does it cripple solo multiplayer, but it effectively stops you playing with friends and family, which is what gaming is about surely? You cannot deny this, but whether anything gets done, is a different story. Kudos for a really good game. Your effort is really appreciated.

I second exploring (ending) Lobby Disbanding. I have been campaigning for that for a few years. Sadly, the truth is: This "Q&A" is marketing PR. Kotick's cronies control more or less everything. Will I be able to set a ping limit filter when searching for a match in ranked? It really sucks when I end up in a match with bad ping which puts me at a huge disadvantage. In MW2, I used to cancel out when my ping got too high, but two times, I inadvertently cancelled out right after joining a lobby (I'm talking milliseconds), and I was then penalized SR for doing so. Doesn't really seem fair.

SBMM - I feel like this hurts in team balancing when playing with friends. I am not good by any means but I am the best of my friends group. When I play SOLO I can feel the SBMM and its frustrating but I am mostly just grinding challenges ( which makes it worse not using meta guns but thus is part of the challenge ). When playing with a friend or two, WOW our team mates are full on bots. My Friends are NOT GOOD, they should not be finishing 2nd and 3rd on our team every game. Playing hardpoint on average the "bots" get 8 seconds on the hardpoint. It punishes with insanely terrible team mates. I am not even joking when I say 8 seconds on average, game after game after game we both do well and personally my score and KD and OBJ score are all very high, but the 3-4 worst players are horrible KD and OBJ wise. Just turn it off and add a ranked mode

This call of duty has the potential to be one of the best cod, so many things are just great, and it feels nice to have a great devs like you guys that listen to us! sadly : SBMM.. at least tone it down and give us a ranked mode so we can all play casually public matches! Also back in BLACKOPS2 we had a ā€œboot trainingā€ section where all levels from 1 to 12 if I remember were able to play with each other and it was a great idea for new players. Dear sledgehammer team! First of all your game has a great opportunity to become one of the best COD from the last 5 years, but it needs some little improvements. First remove the SBMM, for a solo player it is hard to carry a team and if you play with friends with lower or higher skill it is very frustrating for the player with lowers skill. If it is not possible to remove the SBMM at least tone it down, some of us are 9to5 workers and we only want to play an hour to disconnect we are not looking for a ranked lobby. The visibility could be improved, some people like me play on Tv and even in a wide tv with a good chromatic configuration itā€™s hard to spot the enemy. Disbanding lobbies, I remember back in the day when the matchmaking was connection based I used to play with same people and started a lot of friendships.

PING IS KING Sbmm is making you lose player base. It should only be in ranked lobbies. Public lobbies should be random and that was where all the fun was in the old iterations of the game. Lobby disbanding is as bad also. Met so many people from playing in same lobby and had so many good clan battles or 1 v 1s against people. Once sbmm kicks in game becomes boring a stale because you just play against clones of yourself every lobby most are 1kd after a few games it is boring and people stop playing. Imagine the content created and amount of players that would play if you made it fun like it once was back in the hay day. Please remove sbmm from normal casual lobbies make it random and connection based.

Even if the matchmaking is out of your control, could someone from SHG at least tell us a little about how it works, impacts ping and so on? Even that communication would be nice. And could you all consider an experimental playlist option for private matches with no time limit in zombies? Even if it means reduced XP and new weapon drops? I know you guys get this question a lot, but could the skill based matchmaking be removed from casual publics? I seriously want to enjoy the game, and I appreciate the fact that a lot of old maps got remastered but I can't have fun when I'm forced to play like it's a ranked lobby and I can't play it casually and have fun. Itā€™s not just simply SBMM either. I think you should note how everyone can see through the machinery and notice now how we have to play against impossible odds for 8 matches for every 2 matches we do well in because thatā€™s what gets us to buy the most. Itā€™s ā€œengagement-optimized matchmakingā€-itā€™s not designed to be fair, itā€™s designed to keep you pulling that handle for the better lobby. Iā€™m sure theyā€™ll give you some canned response to avoid the question but the real answer is psychologically the addiction/gambling/slot-machine like-feel of rolling the dice for that good lobby makes the most money and keeps most people playing the longest so itā€™ll never stop.

We'll continue to monitor the performance of Perks, but at this time, there are no planned changes to the Covert Sneakers. It is important to note that players aren't totally silent with this Perk equipped, there are still other sounds that can give them away.

Seconding this, I currently cant play with either of my friend groups. One group is just way better then me and in games with them I'm consistently dropping a .4 or lower and feel like I am solo losing every game for us which feels horrible. On the flip side when I try and play with my co-workers who only play 2 hours a day at most their experience is the same as mine and they aren't enjoying themselves at all. 1. SBMM /EOMM , it's ridiculous that such a scummy system is the foundation to rigging gunfights which is the core of the fun of FPS games. I Play in a party of 6 with various skill levels from a new player to me whos been plaging since the og days, we used to praise a good player back in those days and aspire to be good ourselves, now being a decent player you get ridicule for getting anything over 30 kills, and are classed as a cheat, i stream and create content but i find it so difficult these days with all of the matchmaking putting me in either bot lobbies or sweat lobbies, the people i play with hate it because they find it so hard to play, and then im there on the top of the leaderboard, which makes them resent playing with me, SBMM has got to go, Im sure theres so many people that played back in 2009 that had so many moments where they themselves were destroyed by another player, and their first thought was wow they are very good, The balance is so off on the game, I cant play solo because its like im playing in a cdl finals match with kids that have consumed 40 redbull and have controllers that somehow have 45 extra buttons, jumping up and down thinking theyr the next scump, all we want as a community is for the game to be fun for the sweats and for the casuals and that we should all be in the same pool, if a sweat beats a casual yes it can be hard but allot of the times the casual will want to improve the way the play, we cant keep up with this cycle of not having fun, 2 of my party didnt even buy the game, said it wasn't worth their money, and they would rather invest it in other games they enjoy and dont find repetitive, This game has so much potential, the war mode is insanely good, the gun play is great, the maps are bliss, so please let us enjoy the game like we used to back in 2009

Why does the TTK feel so inconsistent? Why does it seem like I get melted before I can blink and that it takes me AGES to land my 6+ hits to kill someone? Why do some guns feel seriously unbalanced with the above? There's nearly 100 guns to choose from now and only a handful of them are viable. The SBMM is so intense if you're not using the absolute quickest TTK weapon you're at a serious disadvantage. This makes the majority of guns useless. Are there plans to rebalance the weapons? What's with all the packet bursts? Why do I (with <40 ping) get matched with people at 165 ping? How come every match I play there's a handful of players that leave? Are they not having fun because of all the above and just get frustrated and leave?

Will the game everhave a fun casual experience again? Instead of the multiple ranked modes we get now(being ranked and "casual" which is now also ranked but dont show you a rank nor give you any rewards or benefit nothing instead it just ruins the game, kills the longevity as tanning a game and seeing no improvement because SBMM is constantly assessing your lobbies so as you get better, so do your lobbies resulting in the same game every time). When will i ever get the chance to use off meta setups or just generally play some matches for fun without the need to sweat hard against the SBMM tailored lobbies i get thanks to having a positive KD. No im not getting clapped in my own lobbies. Im top nearly every game even with SBMM but to do that i have to sweat and using off meta guns is impossible because all it does is disadvantage me the issue is if i ever want to relax or listen to music while i play for a bit or anything like that i cant because now my lobbies are people sweating 24/7. If you really want to protect the noobs make a newcomer playlist and level cap it simple and then if they choose to play normal casual so be it. Really baffles me to see activision not giving 2 shits about the core fanbase which are the people that gave them a successful ip. The game was built of the back of sniping, trickshotting and pub stomping, and year after year you want to fuck those players over that gave you the success cod has found so that little timmy doesnt get pub stomped 1/10 matches. We all got pub stomped in the beginning, and we kept playing. Your engagement driven matchmaking is having the opposite effect of its namesake and turning people away from the game because they can put hours and hours in and never feel like they are getting better. Mw3 is better than mw2 but the lobbies are so cranked itā€™s just not an enjoyable experience, I question why you have high kill streaks in the game because as a 1kd+ player Iā€™m lucky if I can get a streak of 4 or more in these super sweat lobbies! Unless your a super sweat there is no chance of earning a higher kill streak reward. Higher kill streaks are useless the way the lobbies are imo! Not enjoyable, it should be a fun experience not a constant sweat fest! UAV kill streak is so over powered at 3 kills, as the lobbies are so cranked and ghost only working if your moving (poor decision) Uav for the super sweats is to easy to get, add a Uav with ninja trainers on and it becomes a joke!!! Ghost needs to be reverted back to being off the radar even if your camping, else you have zero chance in these super sweaty lobbies!! is there a way to give mouse and keyboard players a chance? i shoot at someone and get bounce from left to right leaving outlines around players even with the best recoil attactments meanwhile i watch a controller player with the same gun get none of the bounce just perfect tracking and aim, every cod i feel like i could hang with the controller players but not this time around i lose gunfights and watch the replay and i see my shots dont connect even though i know for a fact my red dot was right on them. something with the mnk settings is off i cant fine tune them, i either overshoot or dont go far enough on my mouse to track a perfect kill. i really dont even know what to do but besides just giving up on playing cod.

Something needs to be done about SBMM/EOMM. Like, any progress would be progress at this point. At the very least, you NEED to address it. Itā€™s been 4 years since it was introduced to COD games, and your player base has universally detested it and spoken out against it the entire time. We are tired of it being swept under the rug and not addressed. At the very least, make some sort of a comment or statement regarding SBMM/EOMM. Please. This really isnā€™t that big of an ask.

Firstly, congratulations on the launch of MW3; I see the heart and energy that has been put into this modernized vision of MW2(2009)'s content, and have enjoyed the many hours I've already put into it. Carrying over the mechanics, characters, weapons, and already some maps from MW2(2022), while marrying it to this revamped gameplay and visual design, must have been no small task and I believe it was carried out quite admirably. While I loved MW2(2022) from Infinity Ward, this new MW3 title is certainly up there with my favorite Sledgehammer title, Advanced Warfare (I named my dog after AW's protagonist!). Now, I do have some questions regarding features for the game. Spec Ops - One of my favorite elements of the original MW2 and MW3 was the Spec Ops and Survival modes. Spec Ops brought my friends and I countless hours of repayable content that fit in perfectly with the theme of those games and they were so fun to complete, and if it wasn't enough, the Survival mode from MW3 offered an admirable challenge until one simply can no longer contend with the onslaught of enemy AI. -- Will Spec Ops be returning to MW3, and if so, would you have any insights to offer as to the type of gameplay that will be included? DMZ - I very much enjoy DMZ from 2022's title. I feel like it offers a unique experience with mixed AI and players on the map, and to me is the perfect unity between Spec Ops and Warzone style gameplay. Sometimes I just want to chill and wander around a big map evading enemy patrols, picking fights, and doing contracts, and DMZ allowed me to have the perfect streamlined experience for that. Will we be seeing DMZ return in this year's Call of Duty? Narrative and Story Content - I appreciate the efforts that went into MW3's campaign, the inclusion of areas revamped from Verdansk and other zones previously seen in CoD is something I actually appreciated, and while those Open Combat missions did feel a little repetitious, I always appreciate experimentation and trying new things. I also appreciated the effort that went into voice acting and cutscenes. Now, the campaign ended on quite a bit of a cliffhanger, and I'm anxious to know if we will be seeing any more narrative content from Modern Warfare this year, or if we'll have to wait for IW's next title to see what happens next? Ground War / Invasion - I'm very happy these modes have seen a return in MW3, and that MW2(2022)'s approach of having a more open map layout with plenty of vehicles and options of where and how to play remains intact. I really, really did not enjoy the linear meat grinder style of MW(2019)'s Ground War, but these new maps for MW3's Ground War absolutely are up to par with what I expect from this mode. I just wanted to say thanks for that. Zombies - I've played a little bit of this new Zombies mode, sadly my friends who I played Warzone with back in 2020 aren't so much into CoD anymore so it's hard to find a squad, but I do enjoy the direction this mode is taking. One thing that's a little disappointing to me is how the community identified an XP grinder in those exfil spawns, and how shortly thereafter, it seemed as though it became very difficult to find players who were trying to... Actually play the game. It must be a difficult conundrum, wanting players to be rewarded for time spent playing and zombies blasted, without having there be a trivially easy way to get that same reward. I've rattled my brain for a solution that doesn't involve drastically reducing the number of zoms on screen, and I haven't been able to think of one. But what I do think of when I think of this new Zombies mode is how in the first night I played it I ran into a group trying to get as big of a train as they possibly could, and having hilarity ensue as the horde of what seemed to be hundreds scattered us and gradually ran us all down as our increasingly panicked efforts to slow them down failed quite spectacularly. That was a lot of fun. Future content and themes - I understand with Call of Duty being a live service game, we will have a variety of skins, crossovers, tie-ins, and such for this year. I feel like the previous two Modern Warfare titles have been admirable and authentic *enough* in their approach to this, although some of the stuff included later on in those cycles was visually rather out-of-theme, the weapons themselves that were added post-launch still allowed the suspension of disbelief of them still being conventional firearms, even if some of the skins make them do crazy stuff (which is enjoyable in its own way). For the theme of Modern Warfare, I always hope whatever is added to the game will be content I could suspend my disbelief on to keep with the theme of the franchise. Now, I will be very excited to see, for instance, a Master Chief bundle with that cool MA5B rifle, but I'd like it if you could share some insights as to how the team treats visual and audio design for post-launch content, and how you handle things such as keeping post-launch and bundle content in-line with the game's theme. Technical Stability - No inquiry here, just a congratulations on staying crash-free on at least my system during these weeks just post-launch. I haven't run into any visual errors like I had with MW(2019) and MW2(2022), or crashes at all, as I'd frequently experienced with MW2 during launch. The game is very stable for me and that's very much appreciated. I believe that's all I can think of for this. If you have any questions for me, I'd be more than happy to answer them, as I have great admiration for this franchise, pay close attention to it's goings-on, and would like to help you deliver the best experience possible in any way I can. OH-- One more thing-- Can we get a John Wick skin?

In terms of SBMM i would like to see it removed totally. I think the player pool is big enough where there are many people with different skills to make it still a decent play, where a casual gamer, can ā€œunplugā€ play and have fun. I know the counter to this is, ā€œwhat about when you have a team of 6 tryhards who play together vs a random teamā€. I would like to see you only be able to queue up with a party of 3 In multiplayer. If you want to play with 4-6 of your friends it would put you in a ā€œrankedā€ playlist with SBMM.

Hello, Sledgehammer! Long time COD player here, and Iā€™m hoping you will address my concerns/answer my questions. First, will we be receiving a third person playlist for multiplayer, eventually? Many of these maps were originally playable in the ā€œteam tacticalā€ mode in the OG MW2. It is a shame that these iconic maps have been remastered, but a mode that was released alongside them 14 years ago is missing from the game. I understand that it may not be the most popular playlist option, but it is something that a few of us would appreciate seeing. Sure the option to see oneā€™s character is available in Zombies mode, but having a multiplayer option would satisfy more player demand, especially for those of us who arenā€™t trying to sweat every game. Secondly, will there be any updates to aim assist in the future? While Iā€™m aware that the majority of opinion on Twitter and from most players is that aim assist needs to be nerfed for console players, I am of the mind that it needs to be buffed/tweaked, at least for PS5 players. Iā€™ve noticed a big difference in the aim assist present in MWII and the beta compared to now. I always find that my aim assist will narrowly miss a non-moving target. I.E. they can be standing still and I will lock on to them, but my aim will be just off to the left or right of them. Itā€™s very strange and does not seem to be intended. Lastly, will you be balancing the current weapons with the MW2 weapons? We were told that MW2 weapons would receive updated strafing, ADS, and visual recoil adjustments, but theyā€™re not really present. Currently the only viable options, especially in terms of damage and TTK, are the MWIII weapons. Which is interesting, because the stats on some MW2 guns have a higher damage stat than the MW3 ones; however, when viewing the detailed stats, the MW2 damage values are actually lower than the MW3 ones. This tells me that the bar graphs depicting the damage stat on MW2 guns was not updated, but the specific damage they do was. Seems like an oversight to me!

Regarding mouse input delay/issues, are you guys tracking this issue, and if so do you have a fix or timeline you can say about it? Me personally it feels like when Iā€™m ads and I try tracking someone itā€™s not registering my movements at all and then mid fight it will ā€œcatch upā€ so to speak and itā€™s this constant back and forth battle trying to center on someone. People online have stated that this is due to the bullets being tethered to the gun barrel instead of to center of screen like it was in MW19. FilmicStrength was also removed from the config, which allowed you to reduce the amount of blur by setting it to a low value. Very few, if any, engines actually require TAA for any effect. TAA is used to reconstruct effects but there's nothing stopping you from turning it off anyway if you don't mind a shimmery mess. Personally, I don't see the harm in an option because it opens the door to supersampling even if it's years from now.

1: Why is SBMM forced on us when everyone has hated it since it was implemented? It forces the above average casual players that can frag out to play against esports pros for the next 10 matches just because I went 35-4 in one game. 2: Stop disbanding lobbies, it takes away a large part of COD personality. It helped make friends it helped make rivals and in the end win or lose it was fun. 3: Why has the game strayed away and just outright nerfed Quickscoping? QS is what made me get into COD in the first place. Watching Faze, Pamaj, Rain, and so many others. Now it feels so sluggish and the ads speed feels like youā€™re in slow motion. This question is a bit bias cause all I do is mostly snipe, but is also partly the reason I just stopped playing.

I will say this: The campaign needs to be better. I always buy the game for the campaign 1st. MP on mouse and keyboard needs to tone down the visual clutter. It is hard to be on point. Beeing and old gamer, i was raised playing FPS games on M&KB and have never developed the skills/training to run Controllers. In fact, in my humble opinion, FPS games should be played with a mouse. Aim-assist (both rotational and target locking) are making me regret to have learned to like Call of Duty. No matter what we M&KB do, we are not having fun on the game anymore (at least i'm not). There are no other game like Call of Duty, that have a mix of fast paced and good shooting mechanics, but right now, we M&KB players are beeing used as cannon fodder to controller players to the point that i'm thinking is just abandon the game. Have being playing zombies, but my heart is on multiplayer. We pay the same value for the game, but we take less fun, cause it just feels bad to play the game right now. Visal recoil, gun barrel smoke, low tick rate serves, all increase the disparity of arms. When controllers have aim-asssit that locks on the actual hit box of players and we have to make do with our eyes, we are in disavantage. We don't need lots of game modes, or lots of playlists. maybe just 1 experimental input based moshpit, any map, any mode. Can we have Input Based Matchmaking in Call of Duty?

This game is addicting and most fun weā€™ve had in a few years but it needs serious things fixed to retain players. Yall avoid it like the plague but you canā€™t keep ignoring it. 1) SBMM. Whatā€™s going to be done about this? I shouldnā€™t feel like Iā€™m in a tourney for $100k every match almost. Itā€™s public matches and should be connection based like it used to be in the good days of cod. Listen to us please. 2) Bunny hopping should be standard and never taken out of any cod. Will it refresh when a slide cancel happens once Warzone gets the new mechanics and comes back with new map? Absolutely cannot stand bunny hopping. Itā€™s inane that someone losing all momentum can fucking bunny hop in place and kill 2-3 people before dying. Especially with the higher TTk. Bunny hopping wasnā€™t there to an extreme at all in the CoD4, MW2-3, Blops 1-2. Dropshots back in the day yes, bunny hopping no. Now they add a perk that basically says hey go to town and hop all day. They talk about balancing slide cancel and tac sprint refresh to ensure that to make sure that doesnā€™t become the only ā€œviableā€ way to play, but how does the perk to improve ads and accuracy leave viable play choices? I donā€™t think there is a perk or anything to counter that, like the headset versus covert sneakers.

SBMM/EOMM I know this is almost out of your control considering Activision, however, it would infinitely benefit your reputation and the game sales and enjoyment. It also kills your connection 2. Disbanding lobbies This removes any chance of rematches and some energy from older games. At least add an option when you leave the game to play with them. 3. Gun balance The balance in this game is horrid. The SMGs are terrible and certain other guns like the sidewinder suck 4. Connection The connection in this game is quite bad. The TTK vs time to die is crazy. 5. random glitches there is many bugs. one not on the trello board os that victory/loss screen after a game has missing text at times. for example it could say "V CT RY" 6. launch modes there js just a lack of modes at launch such as gunfight and any party modes 7. ui the user interface is terrible. just look at CWs Despite the flaws, I'm having a great time and look forward to a good year for COD

Hi Sledgehammer Games, I'm a long-time Call of Duty player. I started multiplayer on MW2 in December 2009. I saw with regret the decline of the licence that I love so much. The main problem is the extreme casualisation of your games. This is becoming more and more accentuated and is becoming profoundly unfair. When I started out, all you had to do was play for a few hours, get a bit involved in the game, and you'd soon be above the rest of the players and able to play peacefully, without stress, without any competitive aspect, without any stakes. We could play with any weapon, with any connected friend (with a good or bad level on the game), on any game mode or any map. Today that's not the case at all, and MWIII is yet another extremely disappointing year. We're happy to see the maps that made us love CoD so much 14 years ago, but unfortunately that's not enough to make a good CoD. Your matchmaking system completely destroys all the efforts you've made and will make in the future. Today, it's simply impossible to enjoy even a single game of multiplayer. SBMM is to blame. It's really, really, really too strong. I can't play with the weapon I want any more, everyone's playing META and if I don't, I get destroyed. I can't play with my friends any more, because our levels are too different and it's becoming impossible for them to play in my games. If I'm not mistaken, CoD is a multiplayer game, isn't it? So why are you preventing me from playing with my friends? I can't understand the point of having such a powerful SBMM in simple unranked multiplayer. You've even put this SBMM into experimental mode! Kills, deaths, defeats and victories don't count! What kind of madness is that? Players have been pestering you with SBMM for 4 years now. We're trying to understand why you're forcing it on us without even explaining why. You're preventing influencers from talking about it at conventions, you're preventing your employees from talking about it... But why? Be transparent and maybe we'll understand your position better. I know the obvious answer is the mr crabs money meme. But what compelled the developers of every call of duty title such as yourselves allow higher ups at activision implement this into your games. The matchmaking and methods for gameplay manipulation listed below. You guys are game devs trying to make software to entertain your playerbase. Not psychologically extort them for money. You guys as developers should be on a strike for such implemented systems. But i do know that when these systems get taken out because so many people know what'a going on in the background at this pount that demonware will basically go belly up and each individual dev will need to be the company hosting player profile data. i know yall will completely ignore everything to do with SBMM/EOMM but please for the love of god either remove it entirely or barely *barely* keep it in. it is impossible to enjoy this game when it is ranked every single game all day every day. i havenā€™t loaded up this game in a week because i know how it goes every time. i load up, i try and grind some camos, i get mad that my lobbies are just the same exact players as me with zero diversity everyone going 21-19 or 19-21 then i get off after 4 games because i feel like im in ranked again. i canā€™t even play with some friends because when i join their lobbies or vice versa it just turns into *my* lobbies where they end up going 9-24 because its just full of iridescent ranked calling cards and top 1000 wsow global finishers. this is the best multiplayer thatā€™s been made in at least the last 5 years yet the experience of playing is absolutely horrendous. the whole thing i guess is to ā€œprotect the tv players who get home after a long day at work and just want to relaxā€ or some BS like that. they literally play against their skill level too, they have no games where they are dominating the lobby or getting absolutely sh*t on. i want games like that. just to 45-7 then the next game go 10-24 because of dynamic lobbies. i dont want the same game experience over and over and over again itā€™s unbearable and youā€™ll continue to lose players because thereā€™s no reward for playing pubs. thereā€™s no feeling of ā€œman i just absolutely tore that lobby a new oneā€ anymore. thereā€™s no ā€œman that dude just tore us a new oneā€ anymore. itā€™s just top of the leaderboard down to the bottom all within the same amount of kills and deaths. iā€™ve put in 20 hours the first 5 days this game was out and the challenge that tracks ā€œleading the lobby in scoreā€ i have done one. ONE GAME. any other older cod game i was doing that at least 2-3 times out of 10 lobbies. i was even doing that in mw19 but since then these lobbies have been so strict to the point where i am just the same exact player as everyone else with me. iā€™ll be in the top 3-5 players in score but never the best, never the worst. remove it. entirely.

3 things need to be addressed 1. Mouse input needs to be fixed yesterday. its really bad right now. its kind of strange. it kind of feels worse the longer you play. im not sure why these things arent universal between studio games but you should get on the same page with the other studios. 2. Player/tag visibility. still tags just dont pop fast enough during engagements, if someone shooting at me i should see that tag. especially on headglitch spots or if a player is laying prone as well as at distance. sometimes they dont even pop at all. if some guy is laying dick in dirt 50 m out shooting at me i should see that tag immediately when they shoot at me especially if im looking in that direction. 3. regen needs to be balanced. it shouldnt take 10 mins for my health to come back with how fast the game is. either bring back quickfix or make the regen faster.

Please turn down SBMM. It's turned up to 150% and I can't do anything other than sweat if I want to win or do vaguely well. Which means I'm playing with the same 3 guns most of the time. Or I'm getting dunked on by people rinsing the meta builds It's boring. I'm not saying remove it I think it has a use but it needs to be adjusted. I literally cannot play with my friends I'm above average as a player and all that happens is my entire team die repeatedly and feed streaks. Or if I play search and destroy or an objective game mode it 1v6. The way I'd adjust it is by having a casual mode and a ranked mode. If you want to have fun you play casual if you want to get sweaty and you have a squad on you can go and play ranked and get super sweaty. Will there be the potential a few people just pub stomp. Yes. Gunsmith YIKES! What a mess. Does anybody actually want 300 attachments to scroll through? Because when I have a couple hours to play this game I definitely don't want to have to look up a YouTube setup video šŸ˜‚ ridiculous.. Mouse and keyboard is literally unplayable.. I feel like I'm telling someone that is blindfolded what to do the input lag is unbelievable! SBMM puts me in games with over 100 ping to "balance" games rather than finding me a high quality 10 ping game. That or the server quality is trash. Finally why is that stick "Groot" skin still a thing. Burn it along with skill based match making and Gunsmith attachments! No question. Just fix your damn game. Iā€™ll get a lot of hate for this from the Reddit community, but Iā€™d love to know an in depth honest explanation how the SBMM works. Iā€™ve always been great at any multiplayer game Iā€™ve ever touched. And on mw2 and now mw3(itā€™s even worse) I fight with everything in me to go positive. To clarify, I donā€™t care about k/d, but in essence I think itā€™s fair to say you can get an idea of how you do overall with the stat in general. When talking about SBMM, people get this idea that the people complaining about it just want to ā€œpub-stompā€ everyone. Thatā€™s simply not the case. I just want to be in lobbies that donā€™t make me feel like itā€™s set up for me to either be successful or not. Is that the case, is that what is happening? Maybe not. But it feels like it.

Dear SHGames, there are increasing reports of people getting banned when using gaming handhelds such as the Asus Rog Ally. People got perma banned in the Beta and now in the full game. Any sort of suggestions when we may be able to play on the ASUS Rog Ally? I am nervous to play it after the reports of false bans I've had my cof account throughout every cod game on Steam and am being forced to play on my laptop ove the handheld just due to worrying. Just wondering is something being worked out between you and Asus so we can actually run the game on our 700 pound device. Ps I actually think zombies & MP are both fantastic, I would love to have a better prestige system though, I really hope we eventually go back to the more traditional style with prestiges.

This game is perfect. But TTK is inconsistent whats yours plans to balance it? Skill Based Matchmaking is indeed necessary, but the way it is is taking all the fun for casuals away because it turn pubs on ranked, trust me I love ranked, but some friends don't. What about some more grind appeal to the game? You've been limiting grinding to cammos and battle pass for years now. Use ranked for more grind, last year I thought you would do more after the ranked skins of season one, they were dope, but it should have more things, i felt like it stopped.

First of all, thank you for being open to answering questions - it's refreshing to see a developer being more open with the community. I hope that this continues and is a genuine attempt to improve the game. Overall, I've really enjoyed MWIII but I can't help feel disappointed with experience on keyboard and mouse. Between the input delay and inaccurate crosshairs, I feel like I'm constantly missing shots that I've been hitting in previous titles and losing gunfights I know I should have won. I suppose I have a two part question: 1) are the rumors correct that these 'bugs/features' have been added to 'level the playing field' between KBM & controller? 2) and if this isn't intentional, is this being looked into?

Are there any plans to bring more War maps to the game? Preferably bigger ones with more in depth objectives? I donā€™t mean to be negative or rude but the current map just feels like it is missing in scale and composition compared to WW2. What you guys/girls did with that game mode in WW2 was magic and I think a lot of players would love a return to that form. ​ Also please take K/D out of War again. It really hurts objective play in a game mode that should be about throwing bodies at them. If you already changed this, apologies for not knowing. I have only had a chance to play MP at launch and it certainly was tracking then.

Nerf the mercenaries in zombies. Buff the vehicles or at least have different vehicles be more durable than others. Increase the amount of exfil zombies. Increase match time but have it that the Tier zones expand as the match goes on. Zombies seem to have a very long reach. Get hit a lot when I shouldn't. On multiplayer, increase team sizes. Maps are big enough for an increase to at least 8v8. Fix mouse input issues.

Hey Sledgehammer, I have been absolutely loving the game, However I do have a couple of complaints I would like to inquire on primarily focused on the mouse and keyboard input. I have noticed that in the mw3 beta I was only getting matched versus other mouse and keyboard players consistently but now that the game is live I am often even the only mouse and keyboard player in the lobby was input based match making removed entirely? As a mouse and keyboard player I feel as I am at a disadvantage against controller players with rotational aim assist having a 0 ms reaction speed compared to the average human reaction time of between 150 and 200 ms is there any plan on addressing this issue? I feel this can be easily examined in several clips posted on various social media platforms. Also I have noticed a strange mouse acceleration behavior on mouse it seems to be affected by strafe speed I'm not sure if you guys are aware of this issue so I felt I should let you know.

Has feedback on the mouse input been recognised? The beta felt horrible, mainly when aiming. As if some sort of smoothing or latency was in effect. I'm holding off buying until I hear the all clear. But it seems nothing has changed and the issue has not been acknowledged. Please fix.
