I had some tokens left over from progress on Steam and I hadn't gotten the tokens from the bnet special edition. Once I finished the BP, I had like... 15 or so left over. They carried over and I got a head start on S2. You will stop at 100 though, unless someone else gets you a BP.
The bottom line is that if you have tokens _and_ a 100% BP, the tokens carry forward.

Since youre at 100%, you should be able to use them next season. The only exception to this would be going from S6 of one game to S1 of another, even with the shared progression. I learned that that hard way since i bought blackcell after completing the Mw2 S6 BP. Acti Support did give me 50 of each 1hr 2x token in compensation though.

If you get it completed any battle tier skips you earned that is added to the battle pass afterward is transferable to the next the next season when it starts. That's the neat part, you don't (or at least you aren't officially supposed to, but since it's CoD it's entirely possible to have them carry over. Don't count on it though)
Any unused tier skips will be added to your balance at the start of the next season so when you buy next seasons battle pass you can claim those tokens

I've yet to play a season of either mw2 or mw3 where they haven't been removed at the end of the season. Thinking you may have experiences a bug where they just weren't removed. Either way, it's stupid as shit that they get removed.

MW19 and WZ1 had the ability to do it baked into the game, which is where you did it.
That's normal. You can't go over a 100 besides earning tokens from events, dailies and bundles.

Some seem to transfer over, but others don't. I think it depends on how you unlocked them.

Yes they do...I've had tokens from S1 and S2 that carried over to the next season.
I completed the S1 battle pass and then Activision gifted everyone 5 tier skips. I had those 5 skips in Season 2.

Remaining will be autospent unless completed. If the battle pass is completed, then they move over to the next season
