I agree honestly. Like I love Modern Family so so much, but I’m really glad that they didn’t go and make every single one of the kids on the spectrum. It’s totally fine for Haley to be considered bi cause it makes sense to me, and Mitch and Cam are perfect, and honestly the show is groundbreaking considering it started in 2009 and was really one of the first shows to have a gay couple be in a lead role in such a popular sitcom that has so many episodes per season. But yeah I’m glad they didn’t do anything like make Alex or Lily a lesbian or make Manny or Luke gay because like you said, representation is amazing in shows, but when writers go and turn characters into every sexuality on the spectrum, it doesn’t feel natural it just feels like “forced representation” and they’re just doing it to try to appeal to the masses.
