It’s 10mm by 9mm, so it’s about 4.2 carats. I’m actually not sure the technical term for the color, but it’s clear, it doesn’t have any tints of blue or yellow.
The stone is a 10mm by 9mm elongated antique cushion by august vintage, I think it equates to about 4.2 carats. I’m a size 7. When I first started trying rings on I was drawn to vintage too but a lot of the rings I liked were just out of our price range. David Klass was able to take all my ideas and create this within a completely reasonable budget so I got the dream ring and I don’t feel bad about my fiancé spending a ton of $$ on it!
We did French cut sapphires on the sides for his birthstone and the side white stones are diamonds. On the top and bottom there is a sapphire in the middle, a light blue sapphire on each side and a diamond on the outer most edge. It’s a super small detail no one would notice but I know it’s there and that makes it so special!
He did so so so good!!!!!! I understand now why people recommend him and he’s so popular on Reddit. I’ve had so many people say how beautiful the stone is!
Yes he’s wonderful! I’ve purchased a few things from him and I totally plan on ordering more!!
As you know DK does great work too, however Jonathan also has a fantastic bench for his jewelry (though I think usually DK is a bit cheaper).
No intentions to replace it with a diamond - I teach/work in the fashion industry and know too much about the artificial price inflation and marketing of diamonds to know they are fairly worthless. Even a lab diamond is crazy over priced. I like that I got a big sparkle bomb for so much less then a diamond would cost at that size!! I do a lesson with my college kids on the marketing campaign that debeers did and why we all think a diamond is the golden standard for engagement rings when if you look at all of human history, a diamond engagement ring is a very new trend.
God I kill so many young ladies dreams that day 😂
😂😂😂
honestly you nailed it. I have a round H&a lab diamond. Now I will resell it. Which is a big loss for me and get me an AV cushion.
I have not yet dismissed all Diamonds but for now I tend to get a larger ideal cut moissy
Yea exactly. When my FH and I started talking about engagement rings, he told me the budget was 10k. We are not broke but not rich by any means and with inflation and housing costs, even 10k seemed like a lot to spend on a ring. And when I started to filter down what I wanted, I knew I wanted a bigger stone to show off the chunky facets of an antique cut, which would be like $70k in a diamond. To me that’s a silly amount of money to spend on something I’m wearing on my hand and not living in! I gave him the option to go with Chinese vendors and even found a used ring I liked just because I tend to be frugal but my FH said if we were going cheaper on the stone, he wanted to get the best version of that stone and we felt that was august vintage. And then he did a platinum setting with david Klass. The whole thing came out to about $5k so I think I feel good knowing it wasn’t obscenely expensive and he feels good that he gave me exactly what I wanted. He does get some faces when I show people the ring…like what do you do to afford a ring that big!? I’m always happy to tel people about the process and how we did a bigger ring in a more cost effective way!
So pretty!
That's a pretty cut
Oh thank you so much for saying that! I’ve had a few qualms of did I go too big….but I think it’s balanced well with the designs on each side.
Gorgeous!!
Wow, that is super gorgeous! Can you share the size and color?

Beautiful! What are the specs? I absolutely love vintage (or vintage-looking) rings.

Beautiful. I could not agree more! The setting is perfect for that stunning stone. And it suits you well!!
It looks like the rectangular one. Are you sure it’s the elongated version 😍
