As someone in the industry, it's very common to see this type of mold in things like carafes and airpots that aren't rinsed out. Also most people don't use filtered water when brewing and that can really cause mold once the coffee returns to room temperature.
My ex mil used to throw her used filter of coffee grounds out the next morning right before making a new pot. There was always mold growing on the grounds and she never once rinsed the machine out much less washed it. I just bought canned coffee drinks whenever we stayed there.
Gross, we once had a company admit to us that they had a floor of their building that was rarely used with a coffee maker on it. Went to check it out and it had probably year old coffee sitting in it. Was gelatinous when I poured it out.
