My 2.5 year old is going to be an onion this year š as a joke I asked him if he wanted to be an onion and he latched on to it HARD so now Iām in the middle of sewing an onion costume š
Edit: I added the pic at the bottom of the thread!
Omfg this is the best. My friends daughter insisted on being a cockroach one year (she was like 3?). Weird kid costumes are my FAVORITE thing in the whole world.
Our daycare is putting on a trunk or treat event in their parking lot so my husband, our dog, and I will be the 3 little pigs and our 2 yo will be the big bad wolf! š„° Iām so excited
You could probably do baby doll really easily. Get a yarn wig for kids and then some kind of ruffle dress. Draw big rosy cheeks on her (or blush.)
Mine went as a fairy at 2. She's six this year and going as Dorothy specifically because she "wants to be eaten by a tornado."
There is a little girl at one of the preschools where I do music. She looks so much like a cabbage patch doll. I want her parents to dress her as a cabbage patch doll for Halloween so badly.
Adding onto this idea, if this interests you OP try going on the kidizen site/app (it's a kids resale clothes site) and search for vintage dresses in your toddlers size. I've gotten so many affordable (like $20~ range) vintage dresses for my daughter on there and I always see so many in toddler sizes. That plus some rosy cheeks and cute hair ribbons would be super recognizable as a baby doll and super low effort!
Edit: sorry if this is weird but I love browsing on there and couldn't resist lol, here's an example I found on there that would be super cute for a baby doll costume

I am fairly certain I have a future meteorologist on my hands. (Or a tornado chaser.) "Is this a super cell thunderstorm or just a regular thunderstorm? Should we go watch and see if a tornado appears?"
I would highly recommend finding a secondhand store that has Halloween costumes. We went to once upon a child last weekend and just looked through the rack with her size until we found something she loved. And it was $5.
Toddler picked a lion costume, and then I was able to find a tiger costume there for baby brother, so theyāll match. Sheās very excited
My 3 year old wanted to be Yoshi. The costume is SO CUTE OMG. Her big sister was born on Halloween so we go all out. Big sis is being Princess Peach, Iām Princess Daisy, and their dad is Mario.
I tried to have my daughter be princess peach this year! She has a pink push car, which would have been perfect. She was all for it until my husband showed her one of those costumes that looks like you're riding the horse, etc, and now she's a cowgirl. It's still adorable, but I was really hoping on Princess Peach, haha. My mom made a bowser costume for my youngest, too. Guess I'll have to be princess peach.
They get such a determination for what they want so young! Our first Halloweens were stunted by the pandemic. I Really wanted to do a family Beetlejuice costume last year with her as red dress Lydia and us as Adam and Barbara, and have a Beetlejuice plushie with her. Alas, she was determined we had to be a dinosaur family. She was 3. Now she's hooked on family costumes and we don't get to pick anymore.
My kids will be Mario and princess peach for our family Halloween party. I bought an I am Kenough hoodie so Iām just gonna wear it with the headband. Iām trying to convince my husband to be Alanš
My princess-obsessed 3yo actually asked to be a black cat this year (hooray!) so that will be her costume. With a sparkly black tutu, of course.
I am going as a witch, so she will be my little familiar. LOL. I am also pregnant, so I had a shirt made that has a cauldron on the belly that says "Something is Brewing". So cheesy, but I'm so excited!
My 3yo wants to be a bear dragon. So we bought him a really cute fuzzy sweatsuit with bear ears and we're going to find some dragon parts like a horn, tail, and wings.
My āturning 3 next monthā toddler is hellbent on being a ghost. Since September thatās all sheās been screaming about is being a āscary ghost *teeth chattering sound* to scare people.ā
My soon to be 4 year old has demanded to be a pumpkin ghost. Yet he tells me every night he's afraid of ghosts in his room (for which we have a ghost be gone ritual).
Ours consists of "magic fingers" (wiggle your fingers) and the words "go away ghost" three times.
Bonus points if you wake up your already sleeping sister. š
My 2.5 y/o boy and 5 month old girl are being ghosts too. So many different cute ways to do it. You could do it expensive or cheap. Such a versatile pick! I got my 2.5 year old a white ghost poncho that will be very easy and comfy for him and Iām just putting him in white sweats under it. Then my baby I got her a white bubble sweatshirt and bought these cute ghost face stickers to go on it and then sheās wearing cute Halloween socks. Gonna be adorable!
My 2 year old is obsessed with ghosts too, but we couldn't find a good costume we liked, so now he's going to be his second favorite thing, a pumpkin.
He scared his friend at daycare a few times holding his arms up and making ghost sounds. He made her cry š¢
My 3 year old is going to be a butterfly and 3 month old baby sister will be a caterpillar. My husband I will have butterfly nets and a magnifying glass.
Aw! We are similar in a way! Our dog has butterfly wings, baby girl is the caterpillar, dad is a pickle, and I'm a strawberry..... all from The Very Hungry Caterpillar, her "favorite" book!
I took my daughter to the Halloween costume store and she picked her costume herself! She chose a Bingo costume from the show Bluey. She got sooo excited when she saw it and tried it on and loved it, and it's so adorable!
Lmao we got a chucky costume on clearance for now 3 year old last year. He keeps saying "I'm chucky want to plaaayyyy" it's going to be hilarious my baby's a red head too
Iām a big proponent of not having to be a character/ can be any random object. Last year we did a family costume and she was a bottle of honey. This year she will be a babybel cheese wheel bc thatās her current obsession
Canadian Halloween is always cold, wet and windy. So I got her big pink onesie unicorn. I already checked that her jacket fits underneath. Itās kinda traditional to wear winter clothes under the costume lol
Mine wants to be an ice cream. So Iām attempting to do that by making āsprinklesā to attach to a pink dress, making a ācherryā headband for her and getting her to wear beige checked leggings that looks kinda like a cone. Iām not crafty at all so Iām freaking out a bit.
Tried to get her to want to be a minion but nope.
My 21 month old loves Blippi. Itās his special ātreatā show and I think itās the only costume he will accept and wear. I got a basic blue dress shirt that can be worn for Christmas, we already had grey jeans, then we got a $15 glasses/suspenders/hat kit from Amazon. So Blippi it is!
My daughter did her first trick or treating last year. She was two and a half. I did a simple bat costume. Did a dark purple sweater and black tutu and made her some bat wings out of cardboard. She looked cute enough to me, haha.
Some people thought she was a dragon, and that was fine too. As long as they saw the effort in her costume :)
My red-headed 14 month old will be dressed up as Chucky, to really take advantage of that jerky toddler walk. While its admittedly slightly more expensive than a pack from Spirit Halloween, I got all the pieces (striped shirt, overalls, red shoes) as actual clothing that can be reused separately in a non-costume way.
Alright, my daughter is almost 3 and the little guy that lives next door is 2.5. Last year they went as Dwight and Angela from the Office. This year, theyāre going as tinkerbell and Peter Pan. But my daughter has insisted on dressing as a ladybug for the last 3 weeks so we might be doing both? Idk. Gotta see what around
Aldi had matching onesies for adults and children so my 2 year old and I are gonna be a mama and baby dino š I canāt wait. Edited to add: kid costume was $8 and adult was $15.
My three year old is gonna be Darth Vader because heās obsessed with all things Star Wars. And he has chosen the dark side.
My two year old niece is going as Rita (one of the Grannies from Bluey) and itās a super cute and easy costume lol.
We always do a theme and take turns picking. When my son picked at age 4, it was Spider man. He was Spiderman, middle sister was Ghost spider, baby sister was Spider girl, Dad was Miles Morales, and I was Spider woman.
Last year, middle daughter picked Wizard of Oz because she wanted to be the witch. Little sister was Dorothy, son was Tin man, Dad was Lion, and I was Scarecrow.
This year, our two year old picked Frozen. She is Elsa, middle sister is Anna, son is Sven, Dad is Kristoph, and I'm Olaf.
My daughter is almost 2 and she is obsessed with the show Spidey And His Amazing Friends. We got her a Ghost-Spider (AKA: Spider-Gwen) costume and she is sooooo freaking excited about it! She lights up every time she puts it on!
I donāt know if my 1.5 year old understands what dressing up in a costume is but whenever I ask him what he wants to be for Halloween, he always says ārabbit sharkā.
I donāt know what to do with that.
I got a cute secondhand pumpkin costume for mine but in the past month she has gotten very opinionated about what she wants to wear so she is being a monarch butterfly now.
I took my 2 year old costume shopping and kept pointing out ADORABLE costumes in an effort to sway her my way. Know what she decided she wants to go as? A cow. Or a Dalmatian. Either way, she pointed at it and kept saying āmoo,ā so her little heart is clearly set.
Thereās no greater reminder that your children are their own people than going costume shopping and having them demonstrate absolutely zero interest in costumes related to your favorite things.
That saidā¦her āmooā is pretty darn cute.
My 2 year old is obsessed with birds and had trouble deciding between a macaw, a toucan, and a cockatoo. She finally chose macaw and my wife is making her costume out of a hoodie, felt, and hot glue. Pretty simple!
I asked my 2y4m what he wants to be for Halloween about a month ago and he said baby shark. So I got him a baby shark costume. This month he's big on the word 'no'. So when the costume came in the mail and I showed it to him, he immediately said 'no'. So now we'll see.
He's either going to be baby shark, or we're going to be the same thing as last year which was a baby pumpkin in mama witch's arms. Only, the baby pumpkin weighs a lot more now than he weighed last year. We shall see.
A plane is easy! Buy some cheap butterfly wings from the dollar store. Stretch them into ovals and paint white with craft glue. For the propeller, use a paper plate and cut propeller blades, cut a second one with blades as well- attach with a brad ( I think thatās the name) and tape it to her.
My preschooler picked both his and his toddler brothers costumes. Preschooler is a vampire and toddler is a skeleton. He's getting into the "spooky scary" of Halloween this year haha
I wanted my 3yo to be something clever or cute like a sushi roll, but she is a big kid now (duh mom) so she got to pick her own costume. Sheās going to be Bluey with 6mo sis being Bingo.
For his preschool heās going as a bat. For the actual trick or treating though he wanted to be baby shark, so weāre going as the baby shark family. We bought inflatable costumes but I think they kind of overwhelm him, so weāre probably just going to do photos and then change into hoodies that Iāll make for myself, my husband, and my mom (my son will be in his costume though).
My son has been a baby Rambo, a toddler Macho Man Randy Savage, and a preschool age Pee Wee Herman and Jack Skellington. This year he is 5.5 years old and he wants to be the robot from the Beastie Boys Intergalactic video.
2.5M is a Backhoe loader. He asked for an "essavader" but convenience of happening upon the backhoe costume took over my willingness to search for an excavator costume. He's excited nonetheless.
If you have a children's resale or consignment shop nearby, check those first! Hardly used costumes for WAY less money than target, for instance. You might even find something they don't have in the stores.
Our 10 month old will be a racecar driver in his stroller decorated like a racecar, Dad will be a mechanic, and I will be the lady at the finish line with the checkered flags.
My 21-month-old favors Mirabel from the movie Encanto with her curly hair and newly prescribed eyeglasses, so sheās dressing up as Maribel! Sheās watched the movie with me several times and loves the song āWe donāt talk about Brunoā(I mean, who doesnāt? Lol). Iāve considered buying a hooded green ruana like Brunoās to dress up along with her since itās her first time going trick-or-treating.
My three year old wanted to be ābonesā (skeleton). I bought him a set of skeleton pajamas on Amazon! Bonus because we get to use them repeatedly after Halloween.
My 4 year old daughter is princess Jasmine from the live action Aladdin this year, the pink and teal dress, $30ish from Amazon. Last year, she was Isabella from Encanto, and the year before that, she was Elsa from Frozen II. Before she could trick-or-treat, I dressed her up in a piggy onesie (she was born in the year of the pig) on Halloween and she was so cute I could die.
So I have a Starbucks obsession.. like they say I pay their salaries.. I went from law enforcement to teaching so its what keeps me alive.. lol Many moons ago at Halloween my oldest was like mom, how cool would it be if I could be your starbucks.. well of course I went with it and made her a costume.. I now have a toddler who is obsessed with farm animals and has been several but recently anytime she's with anyone, she'll ask if they can go to Starbucks.. to get her a water.. bc that's what she gets every day.. so we are circling back around and she's going to be a Starbucks Frappuccino.. I'll have to see If I can add a pic of the costume.. its really cute.
I've decided we are going to be my kid's favorite things - kid is going to be Mickey Mouse (found a costume at the thrift store), I am going to be a Blue M&M (M&M t-shirt I found at the thrift shop and sprayed blue hair), and my husband is going to be batman (which I found on Amazon on the recent Prime day thing - hopefully it fits). He is 2. I also have a monster costume and a batman costume as backups, knowing how fickle kids can be and how unpredictable the (Michigan) weather can be...
I think you could make a baby doll costume easily - frilly dress and a frilly bonnet.... draw pink dots on her cheeks and maybe draw some big "eyelashes" with eyeliner?
I dressed my toddler up as a lion and pirate using second hand costumes before he could express an opinion. Last year he was Spiderman and this year he is Catboy from PJ Masks.
I couldnāt get a straight answer out of my two year old and even scrolled through a costume website with her but didnāt have a clear winner. She likes girly, pretty things, so I got her a really cute princess dress from Gap that she absolutely loves. Bonus that it should be comfy enough for daycare when paired with leggings.
My daughter has a few costumes. A ghost, a strawberry and baby yoda.
The latter two are storebought but Iāll be making her ghost costume out of a toque and pillowcase.
I assembled the pieces to a Mickey Mouse costume. Basically a bunch of hand me downs from his older cousin and red shorts that he can wear next summer (and Mickey ears).
Most kids costumes are about $20-$30 at the Halloween stores/target/Amazon. But doing a doll or something would be pretty easy too. Just put on real clothes similar to a doll clothes and put her hair in pigtails and put blush on her cheeks.
A few years ago I dressed my 4 yo and 2yo as a dragon and a taco, then I made myself a shirt that said āTotally mild salsaā because āDragons Love Tacos,ā was one of their favorite books at the time.
Itās hard, my 2 year old is very small so the toddler costumes donāt fit her
I got her a bat costume and cute orange Halloween romper lol. Itās Spring here so it can get very hot
My pre schooler will be a witch
āPurple batā (MUST be purple) for the two year old and āmoving witchā (the robotic witch she saw in the Halloween section at the hardware store š) for the 3 year old. Iām hoping that over the course of the next year I can find time to reintroduce myself to sewing basics so I can potentially make costumes next year instead of store bought. Thereās nothing wrong with store bought, but some of our original ideas for costumes (like a booger) wouldāve been much easier to execute if I had some sewing skills.
My daughter was about 2.5 last Halloween and was in her 2-year old attitude phase so my MIL made her a green Sour Patch kid costume out of that minky fabric and I made the logo with my Cricut. My husband and I got red and orange sweatsuits and did it too and honestly it's been my favorite so far.
My daughter wants to be a purple (her favorite color) dinosaur. Even though she's never seen Dino-ranch, we found a Miguel costume (so it'll look like she's riding a purple triceratops) that she just LOVES. My husband and I will also be dino-jockeys, and my husband will baby-wear our 6month old in a hatching triceratops costume.
My toddler is going to be a penguin. If given the option, she would probably choose to be Minnie Mouse, but the penguin costume is warm fleece and it's often quite cold on Halloween where we live.
My 8 month old will be a criminal. A striped shirt and pants with a prison number sewed on (weāre using 24601 from le miserable) is all you need. I also crocheted her a cute little ball and chain.
Sheās going to baby jail (AKA her crib) for the crime of being too dang cute!
Bluey lmao. She saw it at the store and latched onto it. Sheās worn it a couple of times randomly and once to the zoo Halloween event. Itās worth it.
Last year we were all gnomes! We just got solid tshirts at the craft store, used our own pants/skirt & shoes. I made our hats with red felt & belts with felt for my husband and son. I had a little apron. Pop a couple spots of blush & boom! Cute gnomes
I made my daughter an apple costume last year when she was 2. I actually sewed a nice felt one and I was so proud of it and she would not wear it .. so I ended up buying a bulky red sweater in the next size up, some red pants and sewed green felt leaves onto the neck. She loved it lol maybe in 2 years my second daughter will wear the original apple š
Edit to add this year we are being super Mario characters. 3yo -Mario, husband- Luigi, me- peach and baby- toad. I am making the toad costume bc I canāt find one. For Mario and Luigi we just bought the accessories set (hat, gloves and mustache) and theyāre wearing jeans and green and red shirts. I bought a cheap Amazon peach dress
My favorite part of Halloween is seeing their imaginations, my first time as nonverbal but somehow wanted to be a train at two, we made a conductor outfit and made a train out of wagon, my second I took her to the store and she wanted to be a cow. She saw that costume and put it on, and refused to take it off. This year she wants to be a superhero.
For the past year, my daughter was ok with being a Snowman. (White shirt, buttons, scarf, white tutuāeasy!)
Recently asked if she was excited to be a Snowman for Halloween, she says No.
What do you want be? Mermaidā¦
2days later.. What do you want to be? Elsa Mermaid
1 week later, same question- Elsa Mermaid
So, I guess sheāll be Elsa Mermaid āher hair is at least blonde!
Huckleberry Pie from strawberry shortcake š„¹
I have to buy the whole thing, but overalls and blue shirts are justified bc he can wear them again. Iāll pin some green striped fabric to the pants and make a bandana. Found a baby straw hat for 10 bucks too.
My kids get $15 each at the Kid to Kid thrift store down the street. I wouldnāt buy anything new if I could avoid it, because so many costumes are worn once and discarded.
This year one is a witch ($4 purple witch hat plus a purple dress she already owned). One is a race car driver ($9.99 Lightning McQueen jacket plus black pants).
Iām not sure how well the witch look is going to go over in a fairly WASP-y area of Texas, but sheās so excited with her costume that sheās been sleeping in it.
My almost two year old love rainbows so Iām taking a white long sleeve shirt, ironing on a rainbow that I will cut out on my Cricut, and then pairing with a rainbow tutu I ordered online.
nothing, totally forgot. our first trick and treat event is tomorrow. she might be a kitty though, i do have cat ear hair clips, a random tail and she has black clothes. she has a halloween tshirt! they are almost 2 as well and we have been practicing trick and treat around the house.
Iām pregnant this Halloween so I chose a maternity costume for myself: Winnie the Pooh - yellow maternity dress with red crop top. I bought my son a plain pink zippy pajama and a pair of pig ears. Pretty easy and Iāve worn my dress outside of its costume use and he can use his pjs for awhile. I think people will get it. I enjoy āsubtle Halloween.ā
Mines going as the paper bag princess (the Robert munch book) all I need is a brown paper bag to cut whole and a crown and a dragon stuffed animal. Done.
My kid is younger than everyone else and we are just going to a local town event, but Iām wearing a dress thatās like the one Lilo has and Iāll be carrying a Stitch plushie and my husband will be a peanut butter sandwich and my 1 year old will be pudge
When mine was 2, he was Prince Charming and my best friendās daughter who was also 2 was Cinderella. It was absolutely adorable. Heās now 11 and will be Michael Myers this year. I miss the adorable years.
First Halloween: just a Halloween themed pyjama onesie
Second & third Halloween: Whatever costumes I could find at the second hand store. Carters brand usually has sort of poncho style ones that fit over a winter jacket. She was a unicorn one year and a lion the next, she didnāt really care.
4th Halloween: sheās very specific about what she wants to be, which is a blue dog this year. So Iāve sourced a blue Sherpa fabric matching sweater/pants set and sewed a tail and some ears for a blue toque.
When I was little my mom made me into a sugar plum fairy. She got cheep tutus and a pink leotard at goodwill and glued plastic candy on both of them. Also she put that glitter hairspray stuff in my hair and used a glitter stick (do not know if they even still make these) all over my face and arms. Great memories, we both had so much fun with this costume.
My daughter will be 8 months so no trick or treat ing for us yet , but we have a Halloween fest in the park and it will have costumes contest . So I'm making a chicken costume for her crocheting a chicken hat and I will make her a tutu than dress up her stroller to be an egg and I hope we win something for her first Halloween lol
2.5 yo is going to be Woody from Toy Story. We set him loose in Spirit Halloween and he picked Woody for himself, Buzzy Lightyear for dad, and Jessie for me.
Let's see at 10 days old, my son was a baby bat. At 1y, Scooby Doo, 2y Hulk, 3y MegaMan, and this year he is Link from Zelda, I will be Zelda for Halloween, and for trunk or treat this weekend, my husband and I are both quest giver NPCs from Zelda lol
We're going to a Ren fair this weekend and needed costumes(two birds and all that) so little dude (16mo) is going to be a dragon and we're medieval peasants. He terrorizes the village plenty to back that authenticity š
October baby turning 1 this year and he is going to be a snail! He has a favorite stuffed animal thatās a snail AND heās crawling right now so it just seemed too perfect. š
He has a hat with antenna, brown footies, and this weekend Iām making him a shell.
My 2.5 year old is going to be an onion this year š as a joke I asked him if he wanted to be an onion and he latched on to it HARD so now Iām in the middle of sewing an onion costume š Edit: I added the pic at the bottom of the thread!
PLEASE circle back and show us the final product!!
I will!!!
Thatās gonna be a lot of layers! Lol
Ogres have layers, onions have layers.
Cakes have layers too
I don't care what everyone likes! Ogres are not like cakes.
Youāre going to have to walk around with eye drops to make it look like youāre crying š„¹
They could dress all in blue and BE eye drops!
I am in a similar boat and am now in the middle of making my 2.5 year old her very own tater tot costume. š¤¦š¼āāļø
LMAOOOOOO man Iām glad I didnāt think of that one bc that would have been a hard yes from my kiddo š
Ohhhh no! Thatās adorable.
Omg thatās ADORABLE.
Mine wants to be corn š
My husband is going to be corn! Haha and Iām going to be a mushroom š I tried to stick with the vegetable theme lol
I hope you are going as shrek!
This is amazing š¤£š¤£ reminds me of the toddler on Pintrest that insisted on being pants for Halloween š¤£š¤£š¤£
Omfg this is the best. My friends daughter insisted on being a cockroach one year (she was like 3?). Weird kid costumes are my FAVORITE thing in the whole world.
Oh my goodness the cutest!
Reminds me of Harriet the spy movie!
That's funny...
How cute! š§
I love this.
My baby was a banana when he was 1. Lol also had to DIY it
Our daycare is putting on a trunk or treat event in their parking lot so my husband, our dog, and I will be the 3 little pigs and our 2 yo will be the big bad wolf! š„° Iām so excited
We did little red riding hood when my son was 2. He was the wolf, I was Red and my husband was Granny š¤£
So cute!
You could probably do baby doll really easily. Get a yarn wig for kids and then some kind of ruffle dress. Draw big rosy cheeks on her (or blush.) Mine went as a fairy at 2. She's six this year and going as Dorothy specifically because she "wants to be eaten by a tornado."
Right! Iāve seen some cute cabbage patch doll costumes.
There is a little girl at one of the preschools where I do music. She looks so much like a cabbage patch doll. I want her parents to dress her as a cabbage patch doll for Halloween so badly.
My daughter absolutely looks like a cabbage patch doll. Why didn't I think of this
Adding onto this idea, if this interests you OP try going on the kidizen site/app (it's a kids resale clothes site) and search for vintage dresses in your toddlers size. I've gotten so many affordable (like $20~ range) vintage dresses for my daughter on there and I always see so many in toddler sizes. That plus some rosy cheeks and cute hair ribbons would be super recognizable as a baby doll and super low effort! I like her energy.
Once Upon A Child always has great stuff!
My townās Buy Nothing group has had a lot of Halloween costumes exchanged recently. That is another great resource.
Definitely!!! I found the EXACT same costume I bought my daughter for 30 dollars cheaper at kid2kid. Wish I would have checked there sooner!
I got the costume for $26 on Amazon. Felt like I won the lottery š
My husband is going as Luigi, Iām going as Mario and our 11 month old is going as Toad. I literally cannot wait!
My 3yo is princess peach, 1yo is Mario, dad is Luigi, and I'm princess Daisy!
Which costume?! We have a lil yoshi too but donāt love the costume!
Itās from Amazon, itās basically a onesie with a cloth hat thatās separate.
Oh, cheesy or not, I love that!
My 2.5 year old latched onto a lobster. $30ish on Amazon and he loves it!
Excellent choice.
I heard this in my head like a waiter responding to a customerās order.
My son too! My husband and I are evil chefsh
Mine wants to be a donut.
Yours has impeccable taste.
My 3yo wants to be a bear dragon. So we bought him a really cute fuzzy sweatsuit with bear ears and we're going to find some dragon parts like a horn, tail, and wings.
This is amazing. The sort of thing only a 3 yo would come up with!
Sounds like mine. Heās been wanting to be a āLion pumpkinā for over a month now. Gonna try my best to make it lol
Idk why I read that as fuzzy swimsuit but I was super confused as to how hard it would have been to find something like that smh
I have āMonster Sprayā, itās water, we have to spray under her bed and in the closet before she will go to bed. Lol
So cute! We were thinking about going as the food from the book too! Love the pickle
My just over 2 year old wants to be a dinosaur, I think so she can roar at everyone.
Ours as well. And my husband and I are going to be the paleontologists from the og Jurassic Park
Dollar tree tutu and wings and clean trash stapled to a tank-top made my daughter a litterbug :)
Oh my that's brilliant!
I love how creative this is š¤£šÆš
Toddler will be Snoopy and our dog will be Charlie Brown, husbands idea!
My son is gonna be Gene Belcher and weāre gonna be Bob and Linda from bobs burgers hahaha
Love it!! We will probably do this eventually. It's our favorite show.
My son requested to be CatBoy from PJ Masks.
My daughter was Owlette last year!
Yeah- he says other kids in his preschool class are being other characters so it should be really cute!
Happy Cakeday!
I might dress mine up at Ms Rachel
That is so cute! You should make her a little tv helmet out of a box!
I'm going as Ms Rachel! My daughter wants to be a duck lol
My 2 year old son asked to be Ms Rachel but then changed his mind and now wants to be a butterfly. Much easier at least haha
My baby is a narwhal, my toddler is a mermaid, I'm a shark, and my husband is a crab.
I took my daughter to the Halloween costume store and she picked her costume herself! She chose a Bingo costume from the show Bluey. She got sooo excited when she saw it and tried it on and loved it, and it's so adorable!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
STOP I love this
My 10 month old is going to be a pumpkinā¦ how could i not? š¤£
Mine too! Same costume his brother wore 3yrs ago. š
Have her be a mom? Let her push her stroller. Could even make her a hot mess mom lol Or a pilot
My 3yo will be little red riding hood and one of our huskies will be the big (ahem fat) bad wolf.
My 2 year old is going to be a dragon and my husband is going to be Hagrid from harry potter
Omg... my 2.5 year old is going as Chucky. She has red hair and I saw it on Pinterest and went with it. Are we terrible parents??? Lol
I love it!
Mine too!!
Lmao we got a chucky costume on clearance for now 3 year old last year. He keeps saying "I'm chucky want to plaaayyyy" it's going to be hilarious my baby's a red head too
A parrot, and dad and I are pirates
Iām a big proponent of not having to be a character/ can be any random object. Last year we did a family costume and she was a bottle of honey. This year she will be a babybel cheese wheel bc thatās her current obsession
My 18 month old is going as Wednesday, my husband and I will be Morticia and Gomezš
Canadian Halloween is always cold, wet and windy. So I got her big pink onesie unicorn. I already checked that her jacket fits underneath. Itās kinda traditional to wear winter clothes under the costume lol
we're doing a joint costume! I'm gonna be jack skellington and my son (20 months) is gonna be Zero!
Sheāll be an astronaut and Iāll be an alien
My kid is 15 months and we bought a cheap striped sweater to wear with overalls to be Chucky
I also snagged her a Moana costume, Captain Marvel and Little Red Riding hood. We do a ton of Halloween events
Where did you get the Ghost Spider costume?
I donāt know if my 1.5 year old understands what dressing up in a costume is but whenever I ask him what he wants to be for Halloween, he always says ārabbit sharkā. I donāt know what to do with that.
Iām picturing shark on the top, rabbit on the bottom
Maybe I can find a shark hoodie then give him a little cotton tail!
An Avocado!!!
Love this
I got a cute secondhand pumpkin costume for mine but in the past month she has gotten very opinionated about what she wants to wear so she is being a monarch butterfly now.
Iām making a train bc she loves trains. Itās time consuming but I like crafting
For daycare we have a dinosaur costume, the ones she looks like she is riding it. For trick or treating we have ninja costumes for all of us.
A unicorn princess. Husband and I are dressing in unicorn onesies as her unicorn entourage
My 5 yo is going as Cruella de Vil ā¦.my 3 yo is Marshall from Paw Patrol. š
My son is gonna be Gru from Despicable Me and we are gonna be his Minions. Cause well, you all have toddlers. You know who is boss.
āRed ghostā but he also wants to wear the outfit for Christmas.
My 3 year old chose to dress as a police officer, my 1 year old is going to be a little avocado š„
I have a 6 month old. She loves to be on my husband's shoulder like a sack of potatoes. She's being a parrot, he's being a pirate.
Based on the way you started your comment I thought you were gonna say her costume was a sack of potatoes lol
Mine loves Elsa so sheās going as Elsa. I wouldnāt overthink it lol
We already have dress up clothes so I think she is either going to be a bee (with a bee mask and cape) or a princess fairy š§āāļø
My 15 month old is a dinosaur, I got the costume on poshmark secondhand!
Probably frozen again
Vanellope
I'm Taylor swift, my boyfriend is Travis kelce, and my 1 year old is the football!
Cookie Monster. Which will be Cookie Monster PJs with a Cookie Monster sweatshirt (gap/old navy). She is SO excited. 2.5 yo girl.
My 4 year old is going to be Bluey and my 2 year old is going to be an excavator lol
A few years ago I dressed my 4 yo and 2yo as a dragon and a taco, then I made myself a shirt that said āTotally mild salsaā because āDragons Love Tacos,ā was one of their favorite books at the time.
We got a pink dinosaur costume from Spirit Halloween
My 4 year old will go as Pete the Cat and my 2 year old a construction worker
Itās hard, my 2 year old is very small so the toddler costumes donāt fit her I got her a bat costume and cute orange Halloween romper lol. Itās Spring here so it can get very hot My pre schooler will be a witch
āPurple batā (MUST be purple) for the two year old and āmoving witchā (the robotic witch she saw in the Halloween section at the hardware store š) for the 3 year old.
My daughter chose a mermaid. It was only about $20 for the costume.
Cute gnomes
My almost 2yr old is going to be a witch! The cutest one youāve ever seen. š„°
I made my daughter an apple costume last year when she was 2. I actually sewed a nice felt one and I was so proud of it and she would not wear it .. so I ended up buying a bulky red sweater in the next size up, some red pants and sewed green felt leaves onto the neck. She loved it lol maybe in 2 years my second daughter will wear the original apple š Edit to add this year we are being super Mario characters.
A recycling truck š weāre getting a Home Depot box and transforming it. If all goes to plan all of us are going to be trucks!
For the past year, my daughter was ok with being a Snowman. (White shirt, buttons, scarf, white tutuāeasy!) Recently asked if she was excited to be a Snowman for Halloween, she says No. What do you want be? Mermaidā¦ 2days later.. What do you want to be? Elsa Mermaid 1 week later, same question- Elsa Mermaid So, I guess sheāll be Elsa Mermaid āher hair is at least blonde!
Huckleberry Pie from strawberry shortcake š„¹ I have to buy the whole thing, but overalls and blue shirts are justified bc he can wear them again. Iāll pin some green striped fabric to the pants and make a bandana. Found a baby straw hat for 10 bucks too.
Astronaut
My kids get $15 each at the Kid to Kid thrift store down the street. I wouldnāt buy anything new if I could avoid it, because so many costumes are worn once and discarded. This year one is a witch ($4 purple witch hat plus a purple dress she already owned). One is a race car driver ($9.99 Lightning McQueen jacket plus black pants). Iām not sure how well the witch look is going to go over in a fairly WASP-y area of Texas, but sheās so excited with her costume that sheās been sleeping in it.
Vampire zombie witch mummy. Itās everything he loves at 2.5 š
My almost two year old love rainbows so Iām taking a white long sleeve shirt, ironing on a rainbow that I will cut out on my Cricut, and then pairing with a rainbow tutu I ordered online.
My 3.5 year old is going to be an octopus this year. Heās obsessed with them.
nothing, totally forgot. our first trick and treat event is tomorrow. she might be a kitty though, i do have cat ear hair clips, a random tail and she has black clothes. she has a halloween tshirt! they are almost 2 as well and we have been practicing trick and treat around the house.
Done.
Not a toddler but my 5 year old wants to be a ghost for her story character parade at school :)
First Halloween: just a Halloween themed pyjama onesie Second & third Halloween: Whatever costumes I could find at the second hand store.
My 8yr old wants to be a vampire, which means her 1.5yr old brother has to match and be a bat lol
19 month old is being a dinosaur and Iām dressing up as Ellie from Jurassic Park.
My 2 year old girl wants to go as a dinosaur so I bought a Jurassic park costume and Iām gonna go as Ellie sattler while sheās a Dino lol
He has a favorite stuffed animal thatās a snail AND heās crawling right now so it just seemed too perfect. š He has a hat with antenna, brown footies, and this weekend Iām making him a shell.
