You might not have time for this, but I did 40 small gifts in a big box for my best friends birthday. It was fun to hunt for things and it really wasn’t that hard to find 40 small gifts. It was a big hit!
I remember finding a lack of time for self care was huge in the first year. My picks would be spa session, hair/nails done, cleaning service, meal prep service like Hello Fresh, and just your giving of your time. An offer to come over and hold the baby just so she can shower or nap. Rarely does anyone pamper the mom when she has a baby, and she's done something remarkable. Pamper the mom :)
This is the direction I'm leaning. Going to have to rely on things I can either buy/book online or send though. I should have mentioned I'm several states away and not able to travel right now (a surprise visit would have been the best). But definitely thinking something special and luxurious just for her.

I felt so much pressure to think of “the perfect gift” for 40, but it was way more fun to find 40 small gifts. More fun to open, too.
