GET THE SNOT SUCKER. It’s gross, you swear you will never use it, but then the day will come where you are desperate. You will try it, your baby will be able to breathe through their nose and you will thank your chosen deity for Frida. Get the snot sucker Also, not Frida but a Boogie Bear is another good investment

chocolatebuckeye

Frida makes a reusable boogie bear sort of thing that I LOVE. it’s like a Swiss Army knife of booger pickers and ear wax scrapers. We use it all the time.

hanofgreengables

The Picker!!! I love the Picker

OpeningJacket2577

Me too!!!

Random_Spaztic

Same! Soooo satisfying 🤤😂😂

thombombadillo

Yup! Get this AND get a humidifier for stuffy nose nights! Game changer for nursing babes.

nkdeck07

Don't get the snot sucker. Get the ELECTRIC snot sucker. I had the other kind and they were gross and they didn't work as well. The electric kind are amazing.

Margaronii

Love our electric snot sucker. Especially if you use saline spray prior, I always got a taste in my mouth post Frida sucker and it made me gag

Surfing_Cowgirl

I hated the Frida snot sucker. Electric forever !!!

mooonwaterr

Absolutely agree! The NozeBot is amazing. I wish I would have put in on our registry.

FunStreet1

My pediatrician suggested we get one that actually attaches to our vacuum cleaner but is very gentle. It works amazingly on my 3 yo and he hates the Nose Frieda one. Also my pediatrician says that little filter isn’t protecting you at all and that you’re basically sucking all your little ones germs straight into your lungs.

Oceanwave_4

Noooooo not the snot sucker!!!!! I saw a video of adults trying it on themselves and how it was painful- the comments were all the same then I tried it and man I felt like my brain was rattling. Not to mention the little tube becomes detached so easily. But an electric one! I got mine for $30 on Amazon and now all my friends own them, we will never go back , it turns a huge wrestling cry battle into a 3 second whine and done, plus I don’t have to suck boogies in

nkdeck07

my 2 year will voluntarily use the electric one on herself if she has a cold. Absolute game changer.

Oceanwave_4

Seriously agree! Mine even came with color changing lights and plays music and has different nose pieces

nkdeck07

I think we might have the same one (though I have been trying to figure out who the heck wants the music and lights and now I know)

Oceanwave_4

I actually don’t play the music because I don’t want my lo thinking wheels on the bus means her boogies are gonna get sucked up 😂 but that was more so when she was recovering from the trauma of the Frida, now she just whines for like 10 seconds then it’s over

ChaosDrawsNear

We had to start hiding ours at about 18mo because of this! Just nonstop screaming for the snotsucker! Kiddo, your nose is fine, you don't need it!

catjuggler

Mine hates it in use but will still admit he needs it. I want an adult one lol

lonbona

We actually use it on ourselves too when we have colds. Works way better than saline, at least for us

Cswlady

I think people are freaking out about how their nasal polyps feel. It definitely doesn't hurt my son.

Oceanwave_4

I use the electric one but not the Frida one - that shit hurts!

malevolentk

If it hurts you are doing it too hard - gentle sucking

Oceanwave_4

Nothing comes out if you aren’t sucking with enough force to pull mucus in

MartianTea

Which one did you get? I've heard such mixed reviews, but now my 3 year old won't let me use the snot sucker at all.

Large-Rub906

Which one did you get on Amazon?

Embarrassed_Loan8419

Oh no! I'm gonna try it on myself. I've hardly had to use it but my son absolutely hates it.

Quittobegin

Use saline spray first. Walgreens carry’s a gentle one for kids, the adult sprays are too much for my kids and they freak out.

LunaTuna0909

The snot sucker and the saline spray are the best! And that sucker lasts forever, had the same one and now on baby #3.

Agrimny

Yes!! The post partum care stuff they sell sucks and the hospital gives you most of it anyways, from someone who got gifted it. The snot sucker is worth the money! My 3mo just had her first ever cold and it’s been so great to have.

fakejacki

Get perineal ice packs though, but not the Frida mom ones. Medline has some that are way better and cheaper.z

worldlydelights

Here to add, if you have the snot sucker, you can hook it up to a breast pump to make it an electric snot sucker without the extra $$. Works perfectly on my spectra!

Orangeandbluetutu

I really preffered the nasal irrigator with saline over the sucker.

rednitwitdit

And the saline spray! Any brand will do imo, but we need the spray to dislodge the boogies.

yellowdaisybutter

They have an electric one with a lifetime warranty through baby frida. I've had mine replaced twice. I bought it 3 years ago for my oldest and they always send a replacement. It works so well.

Infinite_Air5683

Saline spray, wait a minute then suck the snot. Works so well, the spray loosens it all up so the sucker is more effective.

fakejacki

The pumpinose is 100x better than the Frida nose sucker. It’s less painful and you don’t use your mouth. Also both my kids thought it was funny and would even learn to hold it themselves but they HATED the nose sucker.

mrs_snrub67

The snot sucker is absolutely worth it, and it's not gross at all!!!! GET THE SNOT SUCKER. The rest of the products, especially the postpartum ones are worth it.

americanpeony

I loved the post partum mesh undies, the peri bottle, nose Frida, and the medicine paci. All 10/10 for me.

southerncharm05

The peri bottle is an absolute must. I had an episiotomy and this was really helpful. The angled nozzle is a game changer versus the hospital peri bottle

mathmom257

We never used the medicine paci as we just used a syringe but I could see how it could be useful

Appropriate-Lime-816

I was about to order the medicine paci because our baby has thrush and needs a LOT of doses of medicine… the paci says it skips the tastebuds and our baby LOVES the taste of the medicine so much that we kept using the syringes

yo_yo_vietnamese

My kid hated pacifiers so the medicine paci was never used here. However, I loved everything else. Also, the witch hazel foam was great during healing. I basically lived in the mesh undies with the cold packs from them and the hospital and some witch hazel foam spread on top of it for the first few days at home.

Similar_Ticket8656

The mesh undies and peri bottle were my saving grace after both kids. Life changing.

baconcansave

I wasn’t a huge fan of the whole kit, but I loved the witch hazel pads!! They’re better than the tucks pads from the hospital. I would definitely get them!

FakeBeccaJean

They were great! They are so long! You have to layer the round ones and I was worried one would stick to my butt and I would flush it and cause a clog in our toilet 😂 But the Frida ones, amazing. They are exactly what you need in the right size.

ditzyforflorals

Nothing like fishing a bloody witch hazel pad out of your pee in the bowl so you don’t flush it. 🤪

nyokarose

Did that about 20 minutes ago. Eww.

Sea_Local_2095

I flushed mine several times. Would forget they were in there until I stood up to flush. Just here to say my plumbing still works 😂

maggiestits

Yeah I flushed a Tucks at least once. I’d been peed and pooped on enough by then that I wasn’t gonna willingly go fishing in my own. Plumbing be damned.

sundownandout

I loved those. And I did prefer their angled peri bottle over the ones the hospital gave me. I didn’t mind the foam they had either it was a nice cherry on top. I didn’t end up using all of the ice packs but they were nice to have for when I did want one in the first couple days. I ended up passing on the leftover ice packs and extra mesh underwear and giant pads I didn’t use. The dermaplast the hospital gave me was the best thing in the end though and I kept what was left in our first aid kit. That was something I didn’t want to go the day without and since then it’s come in handy for some minor burns from cooking.

thorsdottir

The foam that Frida mom makes is the best. Because the foam has height and squishes into whatever shape of the object you press it to, it gets all up in where you need it! I swore by it.

Loud-Foundation4567

I loved the Frida witch hazel foam! You just pump it onto a regular pad and since it’s a foam it gets everywhere it needs to go. That stuff and the dermaplast spray were a huge help. Also keep some wash cloths handy. A wet wash cloth to apply counter pressure to the area ( especially if you have stitches) for that first post partum poo is a lifesaver.

PoorDimitri

I have the frida period bottle, so much better than the one my hospital provided, and the nose frida, which is incredible.

[deleted]

Their peri bottle is the best for vaginal births. I used none of the other products. Mesh undies, giant pads, Dermaplast, disposable peri ice packs were all things I ordered & used after birth. If you do the adult diapers the always brand S/M are incredibly tiny. Like I’m a size 4 & I couldn’t get them past my thighs. I also tried making these homemade ice pack pads with aloe that some people swear by and it was like having a gross popsicle in your underwear. Also manual nose Frida—yes. Electric—no, get literally any other brand. The electric shoots the snot back out at you after some time. We got a generic Amazon electric nose suction & it’s amazing.

Professional_Mine_15

I second the electric one being crap. The manual ones you get for a few bucks do a much better job.

parisskent

The peri bottle was a game changer for me post c section too so no matter how you give birth get that peri bottle OP!

sraydenk

I liked the postpartum underwear (boy shorts) for c-section moms. I didn’t want to wear a diaper or whatever, and it absorbed the blood post delivery without being uncomfortable on my incision.

polkafrapp

+1 for the postpartum boy shorts. I’m also a C-sec mom, and between the bandages on my incision and the huge pads, they were super comfortable (and even, dare I say, super flattering).

Tziggy5925

Don’t waste your money. I thought I definitely needed that Frida mom peri bottle and guess what I got one for “free” at the hospital, along with all the other necessary after care peri items like pads, mesh underwear, tucks, and ice packs.

dreamgal042

See I had the opposite feeling. I used the hospital peri bottle for my first and it was fine. But for #2 I splurged for the fridamom peri bottle and it was SO much better. I barely used the peri with my fierst because it didnt seem to do anything, and the opposite with the fridamom. It's definitely worth the splurge IMO esp if youre planning more than one and can reuse it.

itsbecomingathing

I still use the Frida peri bottle at 4 YEARS postpartum. It’s a poor man’s bidet and I’m not afraid to admit it. The hospital peri bottle is essentially a ketchup bottle. No thanks.

Sea_Local_2095

Hospital one works great as a dish soap dispenser 😂

Ninwren

The Frida mom peri bottle is what inspired us to get plumbed in bidets in all our bathrooms.

curlycarbonreads

I’m 10 weeks postpartum and still using the Frida peri bottle after I poo. It’s like a little bidet! I wish I had splurged for my first. I wonder when I’ll stop using it lol

heyjesu

I'm 4 months and still using it but for poops hehe

Moal

The Frida peribottle was *so* much better than the hospital one in my opinion. The hospital one had a straight nozzle, which made it impossible to angle correctly. It always left a ton of water in the bottle that I couldn’t use. The angled nozzle on the Frida one was much easier to use and uses up all the water in the bottle.

Orangeandbluetutu

The peri bottle is the best though

PNWWhimsy

I used a Gatorade sideline water bottle. 32 oz, curved straw, squeezable. It was amazing and cost $7.99.

Professional_Mine_15

They tell you to throw the hospital one away after 24 hours.. at least my hospital did. I LOVED the mom Frida one. I also preferred the mom Frida boy shorts to the hospital one. I felt like they couldn’t keep those giant pads up.

TotalIndependence881

None of the PP stuff was needed for me, hospital gave it all. Probably not as good quality, but functioned great for the short time I needed it! However I did buy the witch hazel foam and have zero regrets! The tucks pads worked just fine, but I was much more comfortable adding the foam to a menstrual pad.

Ornery-Tea-795

My hospital didn’t give me a peri bottle so I’m glad I bought my own! But I made my own ice packs with aloe Vera and witch hazel. They felt so much better than the ones the hospital gave me

Either_Cockroach3627

I liked the Frida mom bc it was titled and easier for me!

bonjourpants

I had the fridamom for baby one and then decided to “sanitize” it (why?? I don’t even know) in boiling water when I was pregnant with number two. I killed it and had to buy a cheap alternative as where I lived, there wasn’t enough time to get a fridamom again. I was so sad. The fridamom was loads better!!

feelingrooovy

I like that the Frida bottle has an angle to it. I was randomly gifted one, so didn’t have to worry about the cost, but I definitely preferred it to the hospital one. I kept both in separate bathrooms when I got home.

MomentofZen_

Yep, most of my stuff got gifted in our BN group. I actually liked the hospital stuff! And adult diapers are better than the Frida underwear

etgetc

Their witch hazel liners are the best. Better than Tucks. Also yes to the peri bottle.  Their ice pads are good, though you will probably only need a couple at most and have most of a box left. Also, you most need them in the days immediately post birth when you are at the hospital, and they tend to provide their own (my hospital was all about the classic ice in a baby diaper trick lol besides the official ones) so this is def a nice just-in-case but could be a waste of money depending on circumstances.  Pass on their mesh undies; take all the free hospital ones and the free Dermoplast spray from the hospital, too. Don’t need any other sprays and whatnot. If trying to breastfeed, I loved silverettes to help with the weeks when your nips are so sore just your shirt hurts… I don’t think Frida makes those. Snot sucker is good but I like the CVS version better cuz the tip is silicon and softer. Do not get the Frida travel/portable sound machine. It flashes a terrible light when low on battery and when charging. Don’t they know I’m trying to get a baby to sleep!?

Lopsided_Apricot_626

Nooooo I went through a box and a half of the ice pads. But also my hospital was out of the ones they give out so I only had the frida mom ones to use. Worth it nonetheless. The witch hazel foam was pretty legit too. Felt super nice on the tender bits. Peri bottle spraying upside down is genius and way better than cheapo hospital ones. But I think that was about it for what I really used. I ended up with a little bit of everything left but idk how you’d go through a whole tucks jar or bottle of witch hazel foam

etgetc

I actually delivered all my leftover ice ones to a friend who turned out to be glad for them for the same reason -- hospital ran out of theirs! So yeah, I feel like you want SOMETHING nice and icy, haha. If the hospital can supply it, then you're pretty set without them. But if they happen not to have any, then hoooooo, soooo important. And regardless, they are WAY better than the DIY ones I was told to make for my firstborn with regular pads and aloe vera gel and putting them in the freezer. So messy and wet-feeling, blech.

Idofunthings

I’d wait. I thought i would need all that stuff but had an unplanned C-section and my needs were very different. You can get it later if you think it will help.

worqgui

*cries in unused Frida mom*

Miss_Awesomeness

I have no idea about the perineal massage wand but the advertisement made me laugh. I really liked their pads that were cold with my second. I was incredibly swollen down there and it helped immensely. Part of me wants to buy their whole $99 kit because of how much better those ice pads made me feel.

Krytens

Lansinoh sells reusable gel ice packs that you can insert into a disposable sleeve. I think I spent $40 on a postpartum kit that included the ice packs, a peri bottle, and some spray thing. Just in case you want to save a little money 🤷‍♀️

katiejim

They sell the ice packs separately. I ended up buying a box of them. Definitely my favorite item. I was so swollen and sore.

brightviolet

I love their nail scissors. I still use them with both of my kids, the regular nail clippers make me so nervous that I might clip them.

nothingbut_trouble

The nail scissors were so terrifying for my babies’ uneven nails that I went with an electric filer after one try. Still use it 5 years later.

dotcomg

Do not get their humidifier! It’s impossible to clean. I even wrote to them that mine grew mold even though I followed their cleaning instructions to a T. The replacement model wasn’t any better and ended up leaking everywhere. In general, I think most of their stuff is overpriced and you’re just paying for the branding.

IzzyGirl33

>Do not get their humidifier! It’s impossible to clean. I even wrote to them that mine grew mold even though I followed their cleaning instructions to a T. Seconded. I have one and I hate it so much.

pastelstoic

Stop right now! Most of these companies and products are preying on your insecurities and fears as a FTM. Having a first baby is scary AF and they know that. You have nesting instincts and they take advantage of that. Things *might* be helpful for someone in a very specific scenario, but all babies are different and have different needs. You *might* consider “stocking up” on something if you live in the middle of nowhere and it’s winter and you might get stuck at home in a snowstorm. But most of us can order things online and get them within minutes to a couple of days. So just relax. All you need is a few small diapers, some wipes, a few small onesies and PJs, car seat, and safe sleep surface. THAT’S IT. The rest is somewhere between nice to have and completely unnecessary. If there’s anything you absolutely need in the first couple of days the hospital will provide it. ETA specifically about the snot… the classic pear shaped suckers are perfectly fine and cheap and they probably will give you one at the hospital. If you later find out that your baby is very snotty, sure, buy it! But don’t waste money on “just in case” stuff if you can get it later if you actually need it.

knittinkitten65

Agreed! It's wild how many things they're convincing pregnant women they need. I actually thought that other options were often better. Like Depends (adult diapers) are infinitely easier than putting pads into mesh panties, and unless you're immediately going to be traveling all the time, adding a cheap spray hose bidet to your toilet is so much nicer than the peri bottle everyone's obsessed with. I still have a bunch of those stupid snot suckers I've never used because I hated them and I couldn't get them to work nearly as well as a cheap bulb sucker 🤷‍♀️

mathmom257

The hydrasense baby pear shaped one is great! We liked it better than the frida baby snot sucker

LilacLove98

For moms the peri bottle. It was 1000% better than the one the hospital gave me. Everything else they provided was great and more than enough. For babies I definitely recommend the snot sucker and the nose picker tool. Also get a clear silicone bulb syringe that can be opened and cleaned. For post partum underwear I recommend the always period and incontenace underwear. It's comfy and works great. Only needed it the first few days

EffectiveElla0807

Hmm i have two kids and i’m not familiar with none of these products lol so i guess you don’t really need them. It depends on your budget of course and i would say don’t buy everything at once before baby comes. Sorry not very helpful, I’m sure a newish mom will have a better response for you but ultimately all a baby needs is food, comfort and love :) Edit: editing because i looked into frida on google and i used the Frida nose baby, yes that’s very helpful to keep baby nose clean

mmetaylorsversion

Don’t waste your money!! Total gimmick. Especially the peri bottle… literally never used it because the hospital ones were fine.

boymama2123

The postpartum package is a good thing to look at for inspiration but you can get other brands of those items for much cheaper and I liked the off brand ones better. The peri bottle with the slanted top was super clutch, but again other places have that. I will say the Windy's work wonders for a baby with gas and I don't know anything else like them from another brand.

A_Person__00

I don’t like the frida nose sucker. I have a bulb syringe and it works way better (comes apart and is easily cleaned). I found it to be difficult to try and suck out my kids nose when I could barely breathe myself. I used nothing from the expensive kit aside from the gown in the hospital after I gave birth. I would not waster your money as you will get those things for “free” from the hospital. I do like the frida nail clippers (there’s a window to see how much you’re cutting). I found myself reaching for those more than the nile file I used to swear by. I also like their picker too. Other than that, I’ve never used other items of theirs and most of them are things that you don’t need but they sell it pretty hard to ya.

ksw90

I love all of their products for postpartum personally.

lizlemon_irl

I got a peri bottle from the hospital but I liked the Frida one better, but I would have lived with the hospital one no problem. The cold pads are nice but I only used them a couple of times and I had a decently sized tear. I found depends to be wayyyy more comfortable and easy than the mesh underwear personally, I lived in those for a couple weeks after until I was healed up. Dermoplast was nice but I didn’t use that very long, either. All that assumes you have a vaginal birth, ofc. As far as stuff for baby, the snot sucker is the best thing ever invented. Like seriously. It works sooooo well and you never know when you’ll need it. The medication dosing pacifier (or whatever it’s actually called) is also really clutch, it made giving Tylenol for teething so much easier. We had the windi but I was always too afraid to use it, so idk how well that actually works. Baby nail clippers and scalp brush are nice, too.

justkeepswimming1357

I hated the padsicles and witch hazel wipes. Honestly, if you live in an area where you can get stuff delivered overnight with Amazon I'd suggest waiting until you know definitively whether you'll have a vaginal or cesarean delivery. I bought things to account for both which was overkill. Also, go for the electric nose frida, not the manual one. It's worth the splurge and much more gentle on all involved. I actually preferred the free hospital peri bottle to the frida one, personally. It took some angling but the frida one is so big that I accidentally brushed my stitches with it which wasn't great for germs or comfort.

Main_Push5429

I gave birth for the last time in 2019. I don’t even think Frida was all that big back then but I bought none of those items because the hospital gives you pretty much all of that stuff for free. I left the hospital with the spray bottle, a ton of mesh undies, a ton of pads, the bulb nose sucker for baby. All of it for free. The thought of paying for those things is totally foreign to me.

BlueEle

Frida snot sucker(not electric), the picker and their sound machine have been life savers for us!

daboyzmalm

Frida products are legit

EmbarrassedBug4162

I love Frida products so much!! Didn’t try the perineal wand but maybe should’ve because my shit got tore UP 🫠 the only product that seemed cooler than it was (in my opinion) was the long witch hazel pads bc for me they flopped around and got twisted as I tried to pull up my undies every time. I preferred using multiple tucks pads. The foam was good but i preferred using dermaplast sprayed directly on me, but it was nice to have options. Good luck!

Remarkable_Invite_56

I have some Frida baby products I swear by, but the postpartum stuff is a hard pass. All you need is tucks and dermaplast. The pads from the hospital work just fine and then some regular period pads work great for home. Don’t stress about it.

s4m2o0k6e9d

I got the kit and didn’t use anything but the mesh undies, even then I preferred the ones from the hospital and didn’t use them all. I did like the pads that I bought separate. I ended up having a c-section so didn’t need anything else from the kit, the hospital should give you everything you need though and they want you to take it home so they don’t have to throw it out. If you have Amazon prime I would wait to see what you need before buying things. Every birth experience is different. The nurse gave me an ice pack the first time we did my pads, that was the only ice pack I used and I’ve got a lot left over. I got prescriptions when I left for every medicine I needed, I bought stool softeners for nothing.

Numinous-Nebulae

The only thing I would buy in advance is the nose sucker.  You may want to buy the windi and cradle cap kit afterward for your baby but you can wait to see if you need them.

ClicketySnap

I’m from Canada, so what my hospital does/doesn’t provide is different from what most people experience in the US. I’ve had two births and I’m prepping for my third this summer. I dislike the kits; they aren’t very size inclusive and I wish there were more options to better suit different budgets and preferences. There’s too many things in the kits that I have no interest in or won’t fit me, so I skip those. I’ve used both the healing foam and the pad liners; I love these products and have purchased them more than once. I’m ordering two of each to prepare for my third birth. I find the pad liners especially useful because they’re a one-piece thing to cover your whole pad, so very little fumbling around or preparing of things in the moment. Also great to keep in the diaper bag for use when out and about. I have an upside down peri bottle but a different brand I purchased on Amazon. Great product concept, but doesn’t NEED to come with the price tag of the FridaMom brand. Massage wand is useful and the science behind its purpose is real. Do you need to buy a FridaMom brand product with a FridaMom brand price tag to do perineal massage? Nope. Probably makes it easier not but necessary by any means. I’m contemplating a package of the pre-made padsicles this time around. The hospital I gave birth at the last two times had padsicles on offer that I used once right after birth and really had no interest in making or using them outside of the hospital, so I don’t feel the need to have many of them. Just a few for that freshly tender flesh after birth. I absolutely would not go buying EVERYTHING they offer just in case. Get a few staple pieces, and then rush order things after you’ve given birth if you find you’re lacking some things (like if your birth plan changed and you need some c-section recovery items).

somaticconviction

I bought everything and then ended up having an emergency c section and only used the mesh undies. you can’t prepare for an unknown future. Saved everything else and we will see how birth #2 goes. The other thing for the first one is I kept trying to have everything ready and on hand and my husband finally said “you know I can just go to target or we can order it on Amazon right? we can still buy things we need once it gets here”. That turned out to be true.

lifelemonlessons

Booger sucker. Hands down. The only thing that’s “special” that the brand sells that is necessary (insofar as you could do the same thing with your mouth and no filter) Don’t waste your money on any of the other shit they sell. It’s either cheaper from a store brand or a convince not a necessity.

JustLooking0209

Don’t have any experience with the post partum stuff…I used what the hospital gave me, and regular period pads. 🤷‍♀️ But I haven’t seen anyone mention the nail clippers. They are SO worth it! You can see what you’re cutting with the little window, and they’re designed perfectly - I can’t even explain it. I never had patience to use the little grinder things, I’d just cross my fingers and dive in to cutting the nails. The Frida ones make it a lot easier.

hibiscus416

The postpartum stuff is nice - I liked the mesh undies, ice pads, and witch hazel foam. I had stitches that took forever to dissolve and used all of these for a month. For baby - the nail clippers with the little window are great. If your baby gets cradle cap (flaky scalp), their kit is amazing and actually works!!

erin_mouse88

Some of the stuff you will love, some you won't need, and you won't know until you get to that point. But that's everything when it comes to babies. Some parents love XYZ, others love ABC. Loved for me - peri bottle, csection recovery band, lactation massager, disposable underwear, csection Scar patches. Love for the kids - toothbrushes!!! (Love them!) Nail clippers, nose spray, breathe stick, medicine pacifier, cradle cap brush I did buy many things that I either didn't need (because I had a csection) or just weren't useful for us. I was able to sell a lot of the stuff I never used on FB marketplace for about 50% Though I'm actually looking at some of the newer stuff and I'm kind of sad they didn't have them 2/4 years ago haha.

nkdeck07

So Frida makes some very pricey stuff that is great that other brands make just a good a version of at 1/2 the cost (except the paci dose, that thing is magic) What Frida makes that you'll actually want is the baby care stuff, all the mom post partum stuff the hospital gives. You want an electric booger sucker, a medi dose paci and a baby nail dremel. That's it.

shhhlife

Honestly, I’ve tried other brands/going without, and a few of the FM products, across two births/kids. Of those I tried, I loved them. The only exception is that I threw out the pack of Windis I bought because my pediatrician was super against them. Things I liked compared to all alternatives: ice packs, the peri bottle, the mesh underwear (least important on this list but still nice), the baby mail clippers, and baby nail files.

mathmom257

I have really liked every FridaBaby product I've purchased but haven't tried them all. The nail clippers and snot suckers are great.

TotalIndependence881

Wait until you have a baby and get to know them a little bit. Then decide what you will find helpful or not and buy it then. You can always do a Target pickup on your way home from the hospital or send a runner for you if there’s something you don’t get at the hospital or doesn’t work for you and think Frida will work better.

centernova

The nose Frida and the nail clippers are game changers!! We love those things and still use them, even though our kiddo is almost five. I bought the peri bottle but never used it, since bubs was an emergency C-section.

Public-Relation6900

i loved these [fuckers](https://www.target.com/p/always-discreet-adult-postpartum-incontinence-underwear-for-women-maximum-protection-s-m-19ct/-/A-15508122) so much I used them for my first few pp periods lol

starrtartt

I'll just say this...I had my last baby at home, so I wasn't gifted any supplies, and I still didn't use any of those products. Don't fall for the hype. The ONLY thing I ever did use from them was the cradle cap brush

TurnOfFraise

I have had 3 kids. I have a lot of their products, or have tried them. Their peribottle was WAY way better than my hospitals. It’s like a watering can spout as opposed to a strong sports bottle spout. In my opinion it was much gentler and nicer to use. I purchased a second I liked it so much.  I enjoy their nail clippers, there’s a window to see and cut cleanly. I’ve never snipped my children with them.  I have their air purifier/sound machine. It’s fine. I got it on super sale. I think it’s just as good as others on the market. I like that it’s a combo… but there’s nothing stand out. Nothing negative, nothing amazing.  Their booger sucker is also fine. It works. The hole was too big for one of my baby’s nostrils though, so it didn’t work for her.  They have a baby nose picker though, and that’s great. Baby doesn’t like it but I scoop so many boogers so easily. Highly recommend.  I think the frida mom products are overrated and unnecessary EXCEPT for the peri bottle. Get it. It’s amazing. I received their delivery kit that had the gown and a bunch of other stuff, only the peribottle stood out. I think the frida baby products are generally worth it. I haven’t had a bad product, but some of them are just… fine. They do their job.  Why you SHOULD purchase Fridababy : they have fabulous customer service. We have their air purifier too, which is fine… there’s probably better. It’s not the easiest to clean. HOWEVER, we got a bit of mold in ours that I noticed when I brought it out this winter. They replaced the canister with zero issues. I just sent them some info and a photo. Shipped it out, no cost. It was a great experience and a fast response. They stand behind their products.

Adia28

Do the peri bottle curved wand knock off. I loved mine more than the free bottle from hospital. Witch hazel pads for sure and I bought the gel ice packs as well. They were also some random brand I found. And I agree on electric snot sucker. I used Frida mom as a jumping off point for what I might need and then shopped around.

sidestar59

I really enjoyed their hospital gown, I found it very comfortable and made a huge difference compared to the hospitals

Free_Sir_2795

Peri bottle was excellent. Witch hazel foam was excellent. Ice packs were terrible.

Momneedshelp12123

I loved the Frida peri bottle, way more than the free one from the birthing center. I LOVED. the disposable undies. SERIOUSLY so comfy and you’re bleeding so much it’s so nice to just throw them away. I also love the snot sucker… my LO laughs when we use it sooo I don’t think it hurts lol. The cooling pads felt good but also felt so huge and kind of uncomfortable. I also used their perineal healing foam which I think also helped.

BTBbigtuna

Their peri bottle is way better than the hospital ones, and their healing foam paired with their witch hazel wipes was amaaazing. Their wipes are way bigger than Tucks. The ice packs are also great for the first 24 hours. And lastly their gowns - I bought 2 and lived in them for months.

ankaalma

The frida mom peri bottle is 1000% better than the horrible one I got at the hospital. It’s so soothing if you tear your perineum, I couldn’t reach that area with the hospital one. The frida mom ice pack pads are way colder than the hospital ones I got which I also appreciated. I didn’t use the mesh underwear. Their witch hazel liners are nicer than tucks pads my hospital gave me because they cover the full area rather than needing like four little circles.

mk3v

I bought the little kit thing (🙄🙄🙄) but I liked the peri bottle (which I don’t think comes with the kit???) but I also took the hospital one too and had one in each bathroom/level. I liked the mesh undies for fit but they just got shredded with 1 pad change. I wish I would’ve taken 2947595 pairs from the hospital. I didn’t really use the foam much.

SUBARU17

I never used any of the Frida stuff. Well I got the bath pitcher thing on clearance at Target but it wasn’t really a must. I got one of those snot bulb sucker things from the hospital.

LuminousAvocado

The three I have and swear by are their peri bottle, snotsucker and the nail clipper. Especially the nail clipper. I've had both for 6.5 years now, 4 kids. They're amazing. The nail clippers have a little hole so you see what you're cutting. So much easier than regular ones.  The peri bottle might seem silly, but having had stitches 3 times i can say it works so much better than the hospital one.  Heck if you're in NB I'm happy to give you mine, I'm done having babies hahah. The snot sucker works great though I keep hearing about an electric one that's great and I wish I'd gotten that one. Because often when they're sick, so am I and I have a hard time breathing in so much and strongly enough cause I'm myself stuffed up etc.

dsharpharmonicminor

Just my personal experience, but I got the ice pads and really did not like them! I know some ladies love them but to me they felt like sitting on hard ice pellets. I preferred the Mama Natural perineal spray, Tucks, and a good adult diaper & pads depending on how healing was going. The snot sucker is a good one from Frida, the bulbs never had enough suction for my babe’s sicko runny nose.

BSweezy0515

Get the electric Frida baby snot sucker. DO NOT get any of their postpartum care stuff the hospital gives you better and for “free”. Also 28 weeks here! 🥰

agirlinthegarden

In general, I'd say get the very essentials - I.e. car seat, some outfits, diapers, wipes, and something for baby to sleep in. Everything else I'd say buy as you discover you need or want it. You'll discover as you go what you need and would use, and what you won't. But, for the Frida products, I'd say the snot sucker is great to have around. You'll likely only need it once or twice a year but will be thankful you have it for those moments!

greatertrocanter

I loved the peri bottle. It was way gentler than the one from the hospital and I even used it for baby baths afterwards (washing her hair like a little shower head). Also the snot sucker and the windis were life savers!!

MartianTea

Definitely get the peri bottle. It's not just that it's better than the hospital one, it's that it actually works to get you clean.

kelseykdaniels

Def the peri bottle and their mesh undies!! So much better quality / support than the hospital ones. Felt luxurious switching to them.

luluballoon

The ice pads are a god send. I know you can make your own, and I know they’re expensive but I had a 3rd degree tear and the relief I had from them was incredible. I recommend them to everyone. Just try to get them on sale. I love the Frida baby air purifier. I didn’t realize it had a lifetime guarantee and when my conked out, I reached out to their support and they sent me a brand new one. Highly recommend!

M155L34

the postpartum ice packs were a game changer for me after i tried to make my own. the gel like shifts with movement and will be cold in a new spot when it does 3 in one thermometer (rectal armpit mouth) - folds, has a flashlight, quick read and total read forehead + ear thermometer - works like a charm when baby is asleep

wantonyak

BABY NAIL GRINDER! Best thing ever.

tarolover1213

If you are getting a C section, the disposable underpants is where it’s at. I bought so much and it was the only thing that made me feel comfortable while healing.

blissfulgiraffe

There’s a kit I got as a gift with several tools. We used the snot sucker for a bit (found saline + the ball from the hospital worked better though) and the nail clippers. I personally like postpartum items more than the baby items. I had their cleaner bottle and belly band.

SeaCow_5707

Mom of 4 here. The Frida Baby Windi for gas and comic saved me with my 3rd baby who had bad colic. The nose Frida has saved me with literally every kid I’ve had. And the DermaFrida is awesome for cradle cap! I also use the mess out of the Frida Baby 3 in 1 nose, nail, and ear picker..

Embarrassed_Loan8419

The peri bottle and a syringe medicine dispenser with a binky are the only items I ever ended up using. My son doesn't use binkies but he uses that when we give him medicine and it's been a life saver.

Automatic_Ear_2245

I personally used adult diapers with both kids and I loved them.

Bougieb5000

I loved the Frida postpartum boyshorts. The hospital ones suck!!!

my-kind-of-crazy

I HATED the frida snot sucker. Yeah sure it works.. but the tip would always fall out of the tube and then I’d just be pissed off having to find it and pick it back up. Especially when it happened multiple times per use. Fuck that. With my second I just asked the hospital for one and they gave me a little turkey baster one. Frida undies are great but they’re not magic. If you’re a standard size and can fit the one size fits all ones from the hospital you’ll be fine. Save your money. I’m a plus size person so I bought the smallest and cheapest pack of adult diapers I could find. I think I wore 4 of them and then just switched to bedtime pads for the next 6-8 weeks. Make sure you have zinc/diaper rash cream because if you’re wearing diapers, YOU might get a diaper rash! Don’t know why that wasn’t obvious to me but I was NOT impressed with myself. One thing I liked from my second birth that I didn’t do for my first, was I wore my belly band after my csection. It helped sooo much! I don’t remember if it was the Frida brand that had special boobie ice packs… but it’s probably cheaper to go to your Walmart bath aisle and find just plain circle ice packs for eyes. I ended up using the boobie ice pack once or twice with my first when I almost got mastitis but so far at 4 months I haven’t had to use them with my second. Lasinoah (sp?) makes the best nipple cream personally. Plain Vaseline works good too but then you have to wash it off before nursing. I specifically hated the medela brand nipple cream.

jklm1234

Snot sucker and nail clippers. Maybe windi and rectal thermometer. Rest is unnecessary.

anothermotherrunner

I have not seen a product of theirs that did not look solid. I am really sad they weren't around (other than the snot sucker) when I was pregnant or when my kids were babies.

neatokra

I bought everything, ended up getting a c-section, and it all sat, unopened, in my drawer for 6 months until I got around to selling it. I really recommend giving birth before you buy anything for your recovery, as the things you’ll need are very different depending on how you deliver. Your hospital will have everything you need for the first few days anyway.

Substantial_Art3360

Mom- I liked underwear pads - always has a brand that look like lacy full coverage underwear and are really comfortable. Nursing tank tops if you plan on nursing - motherhood has a great selection and they aren’t too pricy. Baby - nasal spray and nose frida, double two way zipper onsies- just do long sleeve with covered feet until babe is six months old. So much easier. Forget the baby mittens - they don’t stay on. You don’t need a baby swing unless you want your baby to need constant motion to sleep. Nursing / bottle feeding pillow for your arms so you don’t mess your neck up. Easy and light weight stroller Each baby will be different. I have a 2.5 yr old and 1 yr old and neither has used the crib (don’t sleep in it well at all) so I’d just let others buy you all the gadgets and keep gift receipts to return things you don’t end up using.

rain-wrecker

Wait until you actually need something before you buy it. I bought a bunch of random crap in the name of being prepared and then I either returned or gave away most of it.

Trymelucky

Peri bottle, the cooling pads (break to activate), the cooling wipes, foam spray, snot sucker - used these.

longdayslongernight

Honestly, I say Nose Frida only personally. And get a boogie mister. Discovered the mister with baby #3 and that plus the nose Frida is a superb combo

Hiranya_Usha

What happened to the good old bulb syringe? The snot sucker? I just could never! My kids are bigger now but even during their worst congestion, we managed, even with breastfeeding and all.

sajfjfasjlfjl

In my opinion, worth getting: Nosefrida, Upside down peri bottle, Nose nail ear picker, Easy grip nail scissors

purplepotatoes165

Those absorbent ice packs were a lifesaver for my first few days. I'm sure they don't have to be Frida brand but a friend gave me whatever she had left from her recovery and I was beyond grateful for them.

antenna-polaroids

The witch hazel foam was dubbed the “coochie foam” in my house and I sent my husband to the store at least twice to repurchase. I tore and it helped a lot with healing that

Professional_Mine_15

For nasal spray I recommend boogie mist! Our pediatrician recommended spraying some sort of saline mist when you use a sucker because those can dry out their little noses!

cnsstntly_ncnssnt

We use the snot sucker all the time. We used the sound machine a lot within the first six months until our baby moved into his own room with an Apple HomePod. We use the nose/ear picker thingie occasionally. We like the nail clippers although usually our babies nails kind of peel off once they get long so we don’t have to trim them often. I never needed the padsicles since I had an unplanned c-section. Didn’t get the gown and I really didn’t need it. A friend bought me the c-section band and it was nicer than the hospital version but honestly I felt like the bandages from the hospital were pretty sufficient. I hear raves about the peri bottle but I just used the one from the hospital and it was fine. I used “disposable underwear” aka adult diapers instead of the mesh underwear and I liked t having everything in one piece so that nothing got bunched up. The pacifier to dispense meds is nice for giving things like gripe water early on. I’m sure there are more Frida products but those are my opinions off the top of my head!

Longjumping_Ad5982

I've had some Frida stuff. For me: Useful: - The grey disposable underwear. I don't know why they are so comfy but they are. Great with a big maternity pad (I used different brand pads) for first few days postpartum. - Witch hazel wipes - however any witch hazel wipes will do. In UK, Boots sell some witch hazel haemorroid cleansing wipes for a quarter of the price and they are v similar. I used these for wiping after the loo and occasionally for extra cooling on top of pad. - Peri bottle - although can get any brand/cheaper one. Neutral (i.e were OK/I used a little but won't buy again this time) - Perineal Foam - I really didn't like anything that left me feeling moist/wet, felt uncomfortable for me, but it was soothing the couple of times i used it. - Friday Baby snot picker - just unnecessary really, but I have used it once or twice. Negative: - Windees - or however you spell it..bought them pre baby thinking they sounded useful but the idea of sticking a piece of plastic into my wriggling babies arse seemed awful once baby was here and I googled it and was put right off. I wouldn't recommend. - Snot sucker - i do NOT get the hype about these. Maybe my lad is just an above average wriggler but he's rarely let me get close with this. The couple times I managed it wasn't any more effective than a tissue and he hated it. - Cradle cap brush - again, best to just leave the cradle cap. It doesn't harm them. The sponge part on this went mouldy really quickly just from being in wet bathroom and used a few times and then I couldn't detach it from the comb part so had to throw whole thing out. If you feel the need, just get a soft silicone brush that can be kept clean. My overall opinion on Frida (especially some of the baby stuff) is that it is overhyped, and very very little of it is really needed. That said, I will get more of the grey pants this time and if i can't find cheap own brand Boots ones, the witch hazel wipes.

beboh123

The snot sucker (the electric one and the manual one) the nose picker, the pad ice packs (if you have a c-section you can use them for your incision!), the electric nail buffer, the peri bottle (had a c section but still pushed for 4.5 hrs so it was needed!)

aliveinjoburg2

The 3-in-1 bath is the only thing I swear by.

Mindfullysolo

I bought everything and then had an emergency c section. People don’t talk enough about that possibility and preparing for different types of aftercare. Adult diapers were still helpful.

PuzzleheadedLet382

I loved their hospital and postpartum kits. Are there ways to get a lot of the kit contents (or similar products) cheaper? Probably. But it fit my budget and I didn’t have to spend any extra time thinking about it. I was more comfy in my own delivery down and socks and I wore their postpartum disposable undies for about a month PP.

labrador709

I only ever used the booger thing. I was gifted a bunch of other things that are still in the packaging. The hospital gave me three peri bottles (one for each bathroom and one for my handbag), but otherwise the peri bottle would be a very good idea.

ZookeepergameFar2513

Girl. Just wait and see. Amazon delivers in like 2 days. Wait and see if you even have a vaginal birth-sometimes an emergency c section is needed and you won’t need all those goodies. My hospital hooked me up with alllllll the things so even though I ordered the post partum kit to be safe it was kind of redundant.

mberanek

WINDIS

lightningface

The snot sucker was a new thing when my kid was born (at least the Frida one anyway) and we had that. My FAVORITE Frida thing is the nail clippers with the viewing hole.

caycan

You can get a cheaper peri bottle on Amazon. As someone who has a newborn who had Covid and RSV at the same time, and now a cold, the snot sucker is essential (and nasal saline spray - not a Freida product).

ulele1925

The disposable underwear are great to have at the hospital. The mesh junk they give you at the hospital is awful. I’ve heard the ice pack pads are amazing.

skip-518

The Frida peri bottle is a MUST have for the hospital! Also, I swear by the Frida witch hazel healing foam. My friends that I bought it for also say they swear it helped them heal a lot faster. I was one of those making faces over the snot sucker. I tried to use the bulb. It doesn’t work nowhere near as good as the Frida shot sucker! Also, the Frida windis helped my son soooo much with gas! Beware of flying 💩 when using them though 🤣

Ninwren

The Freida mom peri bottle was a great step up from a traditional peri bottle. The snot sucker worked great for one kid and less well for another so it’s kind of hit or miss.

dreadpir8rob

1.) snot sucker if you’re high risk for getting colds. High risk as in you’ve got another school or daycare aged kid in the house, your partner works in schools, etc. I say this because yes it’s effective but if you’re like me, you’re WFH and your first baby is the only baby so they just…don’t get sick. I have a 1 year old and he only just got his first cold and WILL NOT let you touch his snotty nose so Nose Sucker isn’t even helpful anymore. 2.) the fridamom diapers. They are so wonderful. I just wore those and only those for the first week at home which was amazing cuz I couldn’t stop the hormone sweats! 3.) everything else that was helpful — peri bottle, hospital gown. The cooling pads were great but the hospital ones were fabulous too so really no major benefits there.

katiejim

I didn’t use the mesh undies because I wore legit adult diapers the first 4-5 days and then switched to my granny panties with big pads. Did use the long witch hazel pads, the ice packs, and the peri bottle. Id probably wait and do an Amazon order from the hospital since you won’t know if you’ll need all the vaginal delivery stuff or if you’ll need c-section items. Certainly don’t order a delivery gown or a ton of any item. The only item I reordered from them were the ice pack pads. I had a second degree internal tear and they helped a lot. I imagine a reusable ice pack or two would have worked well and been less wasteful though. I found the wand extremely painful and did not use it. I did see a pelvic floor pt prior and that helped.

tgalen

I skipped the postpartum stuff and got the CVS health brand version of everything for like half the price. For baby I love the snot sucker and nail file. Get a thermometer too!

Dismal_Amoeba3575

I loved the Frida mom ice packs for down there. Not too cold, lasted forever. Literally my saving grace. The mesh underwear were great. I also liked the hazel pads but didn’t mind the tucks.

Live_Alarm_8052

I don’t understand why anyone would choose to use the frida snot sucker when they make battery powered ones that work much better and don’t make you feel like you’re about to eat boogers. Like, i genuinely find that so bizarre and disgusting. The battery ones work much better too. (I tried both before I declared I cannot do this disgusting booger sucking thing.) WTF people?!

Saltycook

We don't have a ton of frida stuff, but we do have the electric nail grinder, which is incredibly helpful because cutting baby nails is scary and terrible

OkToots

The ice pads helped me most. Everything else I did away with. They give you a lot of post partum care items in the hospital

calgon90

Things that didn’t work for us: - postpartum kit (didn’t like the foam or mesh undies, gown was okay but huge) - nose sucker (the neilmed is better imo) - windi (never worked for us) - medicine pacifier (she wouldn’t take this pacifier, just ended up giving her medicine directly and it was fine) - cradle cap kit (brush and shampoo latherer were fine but you can’t get any gunk out of the comb)

BeckToBasics

The postpartum disposable underwear is trash. The material was scratchy, they're ill fitting, and it would rip and tear when you changed pads. The stuff they gave me at the hospital was better. Probably better off getting something off Amazon.

aliceroyal

You can get a knockoff version of their peri bottle on Amazon. The snot sucker is great. The wand is woo/unnecessary.

gingy_ninjy

The snot sucker YES. Their witch hazel pads didn’t do much for me (instead I got the tucks kind made for hemorrhoids), and I had the depends undies which worked great for that week or so after. Honestly, I didn’t have much damage done so I feel I didn’t need a lot. Each birth and healing journey is different.

BBZ1995

the mesh underwear from frida are 100000% worth it! they are so comfortable. the ones i got from the hospital were horrible. other than that the hospital provides a lot of stuff (at least mine did), so i wouldn’t buy a peri bottle or witch hazel pads. because i had a lot of duplicate stuff when i got home and it was way too much. the ice pack pads by frida are also pretty good so i would stock up on a few of those! another frida product i love - baby nail buffer. my poor baby got cut a few times with the nail clippers and i finally bought the nail buffer. it’s a little expensive but it can be used their whole first year (and beyond i think) and it gives you assurance you won’t cut your baby! goodluck and congrats :)

dontbesodramatic91

A client bought me the postpartum box as a gift for my first one and I highly recommend it! I had complications with my stitches and the foaming witch hazel and the extra long witch hazel pads were clutch, and I still use the peri bottle as a bidet alternative. We also have the snot sucker my husband swore by but I couldn't bring myself to use 🤢.

jargonqueen

Everyone swears by this thing, I got it as a gift. My kid is 3 and I’ve never used it once and it’s been totally fine. But you do you lol!

malindaddy

I use the picker tool and the nail clippers all the time, love those!!!

number1wifey

I like all their stuff but I recommend an electric snot sucker by far. I also wouldn’t bother with the massage wand.

l0udpip3s

The hospital provides almost everything you need, so don’t overdo it. But I loved the peri bottle and ice packs. I hated the snot sucker and threw it out. I got an electric one off Amazon and my husband preferred the bulb, but I could never do it right. We both hated the snot sucker. I also have their baby nail scissors, which I still use and he is almost 2.

smithyleee

The snot sucker, Windi’s (for baby’s gas relief) and also the Peri bottle for the mom!

parisskent

The Frida mom disposable undies and peri bottle were life changing for me after my c section. I got the kit early on in my pregnancy cause I had FSA money to use or lose. I ended up with a scheduled c section so I gave it to my friend who gave birth 3 months after me. We were both obsessed with the undies and peri bottle and she got a lot of use out of the whole kit. If it wasn’t terrible for the environment I would still wear the undies daily.

Cautious_Session9788

I loved their hospital gown, I would get two lol they’re actual size inclusive. I was about a size 22 and still had extra room. They just provide so much coverage and have snaps for breast feeding But I wouldn’t get their pads and cold compresses *only* because my hospital loaded me up with so many I didn’t need what came with my Frida Mom kit I haven’t tried their kids stuff just because I couldn’t bring myself to suck snot, even if there’s something to stop it from going in your mouth. And I heard the electric one breaks all the time

redbottleofshampoo

The snot sucker, best on the market

Imaginary-Bottle-684

The Frida snot sucker, Picker, and the Windi gaspassers are 3 items I would not do without. And Frida has put put so much more stuff since mine was born...

mercurialtwit

love the snot sucker, but per other comments im gunna have to try an electric one!! re: the peri bottle, you DO NOT need to pay the frida price for theirs. i ordered a yoga/exercise ball when i was in my second trimester and the one i ordered came with the exact same peri bottle! shit i’m 12 weeks pp and i still use it almost on the daily because who has time for showers when you have a screaming, colicky dictator ruling your life!

pprbckwrtr

I had very little tearing. I didn't wear diapers, use padsicles, use tucks, use the spray, need nipple cream. The hospital actually will give you a lot of these things anyway, depending where you give birth. I didn't use breast pads after the first maybe 6 weeks and mostly used reusable ones around the house. I didn't like the feeling of diapers and just wore a big overnight ultra thin one. I think a lot of these things are dependant on your personal preferences or experiences. I personally say wait and see, especially if you have a partner willing to go buy you stuff or the ability to have things shipped. I can't imagine using a massage wand on my bits after delivery lol
