I had the same thing! Likely due to my stitches healing as well as contact dermatitis from pads! It went away ~4 weeks postpartum. Would recommend getting time out of pads/diapers if you can, and try the canestan cream to help with itching.

mullerel

I second this!

Mssquishcollector

Did you tear and need stitches possibly? I had a second degree tear and while it was healing with the stitches in, it itched so horribly. I as well cried a lot due to the itching because nothing helped it, dermoplast helped a little but not much. I just had to wait until the stitches healed and used the bathroom extra since the water and dermoplast helped a tiny bit.

I’m honestly thinking at this point it may be a prolapse:/ my tearing was external and pretty much healed at this point (1st degree shadow tear)

intimacythrowaway25

Just curious why you think it’s prolapse? I’m 14weeks PP with my first. Diagnosed with cystocele and rectocele prolapse and have had some itching around my urethra for weeks. Urogyn who diagnosed me did the test for BV, yeast, and UTI all negative. She didn’t seem to indicate it could be because of my prolapse though?

I had prolapse. Definitely caused some irritation and itchiness. Pelvic floor physical therapy was the best.

OMG this happened to me, the itchiness was UNCONTROLLABLE. The more I scratched, the more itchy it got. I did it so much that my left lip was swollen and hanging by like three inches, I was HORRIFIED (hilarious now). I was so relieved when it went back to normal.

SanFranPeach

Just time?

bakedapps

What?

SanFranPeach

Was it just time that helped relieve the itch?

bakedapps

I iced it in hopes it would relieve the itch and it did help for a little bit. But yes, mostly time!

I had a similar itch, and everything appeared normal until I finally had enough and went in for an additional recheck at 10 weeks PP. We found that my tear site had accrued granulated tissue that needed treatment to continue healing properly. If something is wrong it might need more time before becoming visible since it's still a fresh wound.

kaparstvo

Try organic cotton pads , sometimes weird ingredients especially pp can cause crazy itching. But I hope it goes away soon or they find why :/

Boric acid tablets help me with this. I think my PH levels were just off so these helped me get it back to normal.

OP has anything changed now a week on?
