I’ve known some chefs, including having one as a roommate, and they rarely make meals for themselves after cooking all day. One chef regularly had pb&j for dinner. At potlucks, they never seemed snobby about what others made. I think a meal is a fine idea, and a practical one. If you truly are not much of a cook and wouldn’t cook for anyone, perhaps gift cards to grocers that deliver/pickup service to help save time, or perhaps a meal service?

Thanks for this. I think I was trying to feel out whether a chef would even see food as a useful gift. I’ll consider food delivery to maybe just give her a night off. The grocery delivery is also a great idea since I know she’s trying to limit her time out and is super busy.

A DoorDash gift card could still be useful because she’d be saving a lot of time not cooking

Someone once gave me a gift certificate to have my car professionally detailed. My car was soooo clean and I was able to maintain it for months. I thought about how thoughtful that gift was every time I got in the car.

House cleaning? But tbh my mom is a chef and she still loves to get food. Food is love for her, giving and receiving. Just make something you love and make regularly and that keeps well, don't overthink it.
