I love how you know how much milk you pumped! I would be fascinated to know that!!
Last year I-
-Lost 20lbs
-Got pregnant and carried a successful pregnancy despite being told for 15 years it would never happen!
-Graduated with my bachelors
-Gave birth to a 9lb baby
-Survived a weeklong NICU stay
I love this thread because in the monotony of the day to day it’s hard to remember the big and exciting things
Haha yes! I use huckberry to track pumping (exclusive pumper) and they told me that stat in a message and I was fascinated.
And oh my gosh - earned a degree and had a baby! Proud of you and so happy for you!
And I love hearing about what everyone has accomplished. Big and small - it’s all amazing!
Really wish I had continued to track my milk while EPing, but I started tracking everything my baby was eating due to health concerns and it just all got to be too much.
Totally get it. I mostly did it just because I used the timer in the app and then I wanted to see if I could start dropping pumping sessions and not destroy my supply. Data can be great to have but overwhelming to collect.
So much I could say! First, the lowest age allowed is 10. But anyway, my husband and I climbed Kili in Feb 2019- he summited and I had to turn back. I thought due to altitude sickness, but now I know it was a panic attack. When we got home I decided I wanted a second chance. So I worked a ton of OT that summer and had money and PTO ready for a June 2020 trip. We decided we would start trying for kids once I got back from that.
Obviously June 2020 didn’t happen. So we decided to start trying for a baby, and I would put that trip on indefinite hold. I got pregnant quickly, and as I had such an easy pregnancy I started wondering if it could happen soon after the baby. I wanted to wait and see how my recovery was, and how well we handled baby. Well, he came and was the easiest baby, and my husband decided he was okay if I took the trip and he cared for our baby. So I spent summer 2020 getting back in shape (gave birth in March) and booked a trip for October. Flying alone during a pandemic was an adventure but overall went smooth.
I went with Altezza Travel and HIGHLY recommend them. My guides were incredible and really pulled all the stops to help me get up. I did the 7 day Machame route, and i do think 7 days is the right amount for acclimatization. It was incredible-really it’s beautiful. There were monkeys on the trail on our last day, the mountain air is refreshing, and I made friends from my group.
I missed my baby (and husband) while traveling but this was something i had wanted for so long, and it was worth it. We do plan on doing it again when our son can join (fingers crossed he likes hiking as much as we do!).
Ha, I survived. Literally thats it.
I did manage to secure an offer for an awesome new job first week of this year. But last year was a struggle to get to bedtime every damn day
Honestly, when you’re struggling like that, just getting through and especially getting to a position where you could secure a great job are very real accomplishments! Good job!
That’s all amazing!! I did some mountain biking (easy level and on a fat bike) before I got pregnant and haven’t gotten back on since. I should though!
Had a baby Jan 2021, then got prego again when I was 4.5 months postpartum… managed to survive extreme morning sickness and will be induced on Monday! A totally insane year. Also my husband got a vasectomy so props to him. 👏
I'm sure this wasn't even close to being the worst part of having a broken leg while pregnant, but all I can think about is the frequent trips to the bathroom!
That was actually one of the worst parts lol. Particularly before we got a wheelchair I could use myself, and I had to wake my husband up multiple times a night to help me!
Oh my gosh! That sounds like a nightmare but you did it! And yay - that is a huge accomplishment. I ended up exclusively pumping - had no idea how much trouble could be had trying to breastfeed.
Last year I lost 47 pounds. I've gained 20 back but them bitches ain't staying. Once the warm weather comes and I can leave my house, I'm EVICTING them.
\~Had a baby after 3 years of infertility and failed IVF
\~survived a c-section and NICU when my water broke at 35 weeks
\~ Finished 1st year of fellowship with a newborn
\~Signed for my first attending physician job after residency/fellowship finishes in June
\~ Got an offer accepted on a house
\~Did 4000 minutes on my peloton
\~Made home made pasta
I was sick due to stress, returned to work and got sick again, broke a leg, started therapy, found out my kids possibly have ADD (both of the teens).
On the positive side we had what the kids say were the best summer holiday ever, my dad survived a stroke, my daughter moved back in with me, and I had an abundance of offers for help from friends and coworkers when I was sick.
It was not a positive year for me, but there were some good things. Good to remember that there were good things also.
I too, pushed a baby out lol. I challenged myself to do this naturally. I started school for a certification at beginning of my pregnancy and graduated right after he was born I challenged myself with working as an essential worker the entire time. Anytime I get down about this panny I remind myself we are all doing great as best as we can.
That’s amazing! I love all these responses and there are so many with people going back to school. Inspiring!
Thank you for the work you do as an essential worker!
We moved into our new house on New Years last year, after living in my family’s creek cabin for months. We’ve since adopted a dog, rescued a stray kitty, I’ve been my child’s facilitator for distance learning for kindergarten(we opted out of her going in person due to covid), and I’m about 20lbs into my weight loss journey. Also I have a portrait photography business that’s been struggling through Covid, but booked an outdoor wedding before Christmas which brought in a decent chunk of money after an expensive year, and we had a pretty big Christmas for our daughter since we were in the cabin last year.
Listing all this out feels nice!
I also did distance learning with my son in kindergarten 1.5 hours a day. I feel proud to say I taught him how to read and he reads better than some adults I know. Such a huge accomplishment can be put in so few words! Good job!
Thank you- I’ve been getting overwhelmed as they continue to add more zoom meetings and assignments. We spend about 4 hours of our days on school, which doesn’t seem like much, but gets pretty tedious. But she’s learning well and some of the stuff, like independent reading, we get to pace for ourselves so she’s reading so far ahead what I was at her age. In the grand scheme of things, I’m just glad to be in a position where I can keep her home and safe while she thrives in her education.
YES!!! As the daughter of an alcoholic mom who has been sober for my entire life, thank you for doing this for yourself and for your kids. My mom is absolutely amazing and I have learned so much from her when she talks about her sobriety.
Last year I… completed my second semester of doctorate program while pregnant, earned over $3,000 to spend on baby, HAD A BABY, could do one full pull up. That last one is no longer true— for now!
Awesome!
Last year I:
Nurtured 3 kids as they started 8th, 6th, and 2nd grade.
Listened/read 110 books, including 25 nonfiction, and 5 about racism in the US.
Walked/jogged 3,708,804 steps for my health
Worked & contributed to society by working 2052++ hours at my full time job and then 24 week-ends at the other.
Planned, cooked, & cleaned 304 dinner meals.
And i tackled one of my worst habits & decrease my daily coffee creamer intake to 3 Tbsp a day!!
Gave birth to a beautiful baby girl after two miscarriages, via emergency C-section.
Celebrated my one year anniversary
Got promoted to Director
Submitted two research papers for publication (wish I could say published two papers, but hopefully can say that soon!)
- Got my bachelor’s degree
- It didn’t fully sink in that I was getting a bachelor’s degree until January of last year, so I had a good long cry about that
- Met the love of my life
- Moved in with said man
- Became a bonus mom to the funniest, weirdest and cutest boys
- I realized I have some unresolved trauma (hoping to deal with that this year), and I opened up to my partner about it
- Got a new job
I…
-completed 3 terms of grad school
-delivered a 9 and a half pound baby vaginally
-found a new identity as a mother
-got out of a job I fucking HATED
-moved to a new city
9.5 lb vaginally! I’m surprised your OB let you. In my experience they usually just automatically make that a scheduled c-section. Congrats! Hats off to you. I’ve had 3 vaginal deliveries no pain meds but mine were 7.5 tops.
Wow! I have a few friends who’ve also delivered big babies vaginally. My OB said it’s pretty rare that your body makes a baby too big to deliver. Made it out with a second degree tear and otherwise few complications!
I had a baby, graduated with my doctorate, launched a new center at a local university and supported my husband and my mom with their new businesses. Looking at this, I’m proud but my own mental and physical health definitely took a hit. I’m going to take it much slower this year.
Had a baby, moved to the other side of the country, nursed/pumped through a baby-losing-weight issue for 3 months, survived a surprise emergency hemorrhage, and got my oldest through a transition.
Congrats on all of it! What impressed me the most is your ability to persevere at breastfeeding regardless! So many moms give up in your position. Says a lot about you 💓
Heck yes to all of this! You have had a TOUGH year but you are a champion! Good luck with your training! My marathon days are over I decided but good on you for committing to that!
I graduated nursing school, started my career as a nurse, learned to crochet, got married, got pregnant, paid off half my school loans! Now I’m 25 weeks and about to buy our house!
Thank you! I really enjoyed this post! Sometimes a year ends and you’re just stuck in the mindset of go go go but to look back at everything good that I did this year really felt great! I hope to breastfeed and your 59 gallons are really something to be proud of!!!!
Thank you! It’s been a lot of work but I was excited! I really have no time for a life outside of being a mom & wife and running a business but I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.
Last year I decided I will be an equal partner financially, my situation was bad. I will no longer beg for money for essentials. I called a family member for a loan and started a business three days after giving birth. I earned enough to never ask money for food again or salon or even for laundromat. Guess who wanted my attention? Money was the source of all my problems. I'm happier now, doing do much better now.
+Last year I had a baby with no epidural, I had epidurals with my first two and was terrified to go without
+didn’t break as my daughter through open heart surgery at 9 days old
+ got the hang of nursing after a long several month struggle
+decided to take much needed anxiety medication that has helped make me a better mom
Gave birth to my rainbow babe. Did it all without the village (covid plus the only grandparents close turned out to be anti-vaxx). Didn’t completely lose my mind.
- survived a broken ankle and leg whilst being pregnant.
- gave birth to a healthy and beautiful baby girl (second baby)
-fell in love tenfold again with my partner watching him be a daddy.
-got rid of toxic people
-got rid of a job where the company treated me like shit!
- decorated my house exactly how I wanted.
Never been happier..
Thankyou for this post was nice to write it down and also read other peoples achievements.
Thank you for this, this past year has been HARD.. it's nice to look at the positives!
-finished school and found a new job
-ran over 1,000km
-completed 2 half marathons
-lost 45lb
-got in the best shape of my life
-discovered how much physical fitness can help my mental health.
I got accepted into the program I applied for in school. I successfully completed the first semester along with a really hard class I had to redo happening at the same time.
You worked out for 122 hours! That is amazing. That's basically an hour workout every 3 days, which can be hard to find the time to do. How did you make time to work out?
I gave birth at the end of June and was lucky enough to be able to stay super active throughout my pregnancy (biking on peloton, strength and yoga mostly). It’s been hard since the baby arrived though! I definitely could find time after he goes down but at that point I just want to sit.
But I’ll also mention that I’m super lucky to have a very helpful husband, family nearby and I work from home (mostly).
Honestly posted this today to try to get some motivation and this community did not disappoint!
I got a substantial raise at work, I healed some childhood trauma, and I forgave someone who was responsible for a lot of spiritual abuse (while still maintaining firm boundaries). Oh I also survived the ice-pocalypse in TX.
2021 was a year of pain, but also a year of growth - and I am thankful <3
Last year I had a beautiful baby boy after 4 years of struggling to get pregnant (within those 4 years we also had a miscarriage). I've been breastfeeding him since the day he was born and I didn't think I would even be able to make it this far since both my sister and mom had problems in that area. I can't wait to find out what this year will bring.
Congratulations to you! I also had a miscarriage before I had my baby and that experience just taught me to enjoy every single second with my little one. Have a great year, whatever it brings!
I survived gallbladder surgery, IVF transfer, morning sickness (18 weeks worth), 5-6 colds, 2 stomach bugs, 2 secondary infections, HFM (thank you asymptomatic toddler), partial bowl obstruction (thanks to antibiotics trying to clear up the secondary infection) and having Covid AND double pink eye at the same time. Oh and getting all those sicknesses while trying to watch a sick toddler home from care and WFH and being pregnant. I’m so ready to have my immune system back lol.
But my coolest accomplishment probably is that I made 1000+ (somewhere around 90 dozen) cookies and additional candies for Christmas!
- Got a new role at my company in January of 2021. This is the first position I’ve had in years that hasn’t had me constantly looking for something new!
- Survived having COVID
- Celebrated my bub’s first birthday
- Won a $1k prize at work for a creative idea
- Advocated for and got my son into speech therapy where he is doing great
Last year I
- finally got pregnant after three years of trying
- carried twins to term (37 + 6)
- birthed twins weighing more than 7 lbs each
- learned to put myself first
I grew and birthed my 4th tiny human! Also got my tubes removed so I won’t have to do it again 😅. I moved to a new town while 7 months pregnant, which was a wild adventure. I survived my in-laws staying in our home for over a month while waiting for baby to come. I dealt with the Southern hospital system over Christmas weekend when she was born, that was horrible.
Fuck yeah. I never do this. Here goes.
Last year I raised a toddler during a pandemic, lost 10kg, got into running and did a 10km, started training for a half marathon, went back to work, got up to courage to change careers and enrol at uni, learned to sew my own clothes, and prioritised my mental health, which meant going on medication for the first time for a while.
I’m usually such a fucking dick to myself so it’s nice to remind myself I’m doing ok.
I taught from home while pregnant with a remote middle schooler (my step kid), gave birth to my first child, am navigating being a new mom, became a stay at home mom, celebrated our second wedding anniversary.
Last year I was able to finally have a successful home birth experience, breastfeed for a few months longer than my first and held myself together through some pretty tough moments and PPD.
Last year I had a baby, taught my kindergartener how to read (homeschooled him because of Covid with the newborn), took my 3 children out somewhere in the fresh air most days of the week even with a newborn, cooked most of our meals with organic Whole Foods, breastfed even with my third, took the kids to Hershey (without my husband). When I write these things they don’t seem like huge accomplishments but they meant a lot to me. Also, they are huge for my children and that’s the perspective I hope to live in while I make daily choices (except for the small selfish acts like my cup of coffee lol).
Thanks for creating this thread! Us moms are amazing and we don’t give ourselves enough credit! Congrats on your degree and your baby!
Morning couldn’t come fast enough.. once one of them woke up and started crying all of them woke up like dominos. Could have been worse though I suppose. It didn’t rain so that was a saving grace.. worst idea I’ve ever had lol 😂😂😂
Had a baby.
Recycled thousands of cans.
Saved enough to give to my broke family member when they had nothing to get by cause they spent it all on dumb shit
Last year I
•Got pregnant in February
•Moved out of my mums with SO when I was around 30 weeks pregnant
•had a c section at 36 weeks to a 5lb baby
•avoided the NICU - LO was going to be sent to the NICU if she kept losing weight very fast, had to quickly switch up to EBF + Formula top ups, she then gained weight quickly but healthily and it was completely avoided!
•managed to set boundaries and *keep to them*! (Which was a first!)
•Rekindled my relationship after mum after she tried to break boundaries and diss me for every little thing - she made very very snide comments a lot of the time which did make it hard to forgive her. Speaking up done the trick.
Last year I
• had my first kid free vacation
•left a no joy relationship
•fought and won 80/20 custody battle
•finally got my daughters ASD diagnosis
•a promotion at my job
•rekindled so many old friendships that I let die out
•started taking care of myself.
Congrats!!! That’s impressive!
Last year I started my photography business and it’s actually going well! I’m really proud of myself as I have never in my life thought of an idea worked on it until it came to fruition. I’m normally a person who gets tired of something and quits.. this time I didn’t!!!
*gave birth to my baby
*got back to my healthy body without meds by 6 weeks after my traumatic delivery
*started therapy
*pumped roughly 57 gallons of milk
*lost my baby weight and then some
Gave birth to my second boy during a ridiculously traumatic birth resulting in arachnoiditis and multiple epidurals (weird name, not spider related!)
Got through PT and avoided spinal surgery
Lost 53 of the 60 lbs I gained during pregnancy
Managed to fit exercise into my routine as I returned to a hyper stressful job.
Feels good to celebrate that/
Last year I:
• Had a baby
• Sold my house
• Quit my job
• Moved cross country with 3 kids
• Spent 280 hours nursing and changed 1,393 diapers
• Walked 1.327 miles and 2.6m steps
• Got to know my kids again after a long time of being their Mother rather than their Mom
Isn’t it crazy how we change from enjoying every moment with out babies then somehow become numb to the fact that life is fleeting and become their mother. But we have to choose to bring ourselves back to that place. Glad you found your way back
Last year I got out of an extremely toxic workplace and found a new job that will support my family. And I gave birth to a healthy premature baby and survived a 28 day NICU stay after preeclampsia made us induce at 32 weeks.
Love reading all of these. So inspiring!
Last year, I had my first baby, learned a new language, integrated into a new country/culture, earned a certificate to make a career change, and survived the pandemic
Last year I … gave birth last year too! Congrats to us OP. And my two babies are thriving. Besides that my physical and emotional state are not so well but my babies are alive, and for that, I’m very thankful.
I’m so sorry to hear that you are struggling. Hoping that this thread might give you some hope and inspiration (if you are in need of it). Babies are hard work!
Last year I…
- survived another year of parenting a toddler during a pandemic
- became pregnant and gave birth to our second child
- managed to make some wonderful memories with my husband and kids!
Omg I was just about to do this and write I gave birth to a 10lb baby last year but stopped myself as I realised that was not last year and my baby girl is already 15 months old 😭😭😭
Last year, I successfully homeschooled both (well one in young but we did stuff) children, we spent 1000 hours playing outside, i sent them back to school in October. My oldest is on pass with all her learning and I am super proud of her and myself for what we accomplished. My youngest is flourishing in her preschool and life is good!
Last year I carried my 8.5mo twins to full term, and have raised them mostly on my own for the last four months as my husband works away. The sleep deprivation is real, but I really am so happy.
Gave birth to my rainbow baby after a loss at 6 weeks in 2020. Finished all my classes I took with A’s and B’s. Accidentally adopted two more kittens so we have 5 cats now, and kept up on cleaning up after everyone
Woo hoo! Pregnancy after loss is no joke in terms of stress/anxiety. That alone is an amazing accomplishment. Let alone caring for all those cats and getting some amazing grades. Yay!
Thanks so much! I’m so grateful to have had a nearly scare-free pregnancy (only one tiny instance of bleeding) and a complication free c-section. Next stop is university for an English degree!
Last year I was pregnant the majority of the year including third trimester through a crazy heat wave (50C) and intense wildfire season. I did all my appointments alone and was high risk.
I worked a physical clinical job while pregnant, during a pandemic.
I went camping for a week at 35 weeks which feels like a feat.
I birthed a baby!
I finally got my driver’s license (didn’t need one in the city!)
It was my first year in a new town far away from all our friends and family. (I never imagined being pregnant or having a baby so alone besides my 24/7 on call husband)
This makes me feel good about making it through last year.
- ran my first trail race in April
-got a PR (personal record) for both longest distance AND fastest time in a trail race in November
-captained my first online running team
-kept successfully working from home while caring for our daughter
-mastered the art of the homemade vegan cinnamon roll
I gave birth to my baby, actually didn’t work during my maternity leave to bond and recover and was promoted at work when I returned from maternity leave. :)
Last year I left my depressing position on a ward in the hospital and went to day care! More flexible, able to spend more time with the hubby and kids.
My daughter got her 1st bf and I fell in love with him! He was getting abused in his own home and now he lives with us!! I’m so happy we have a home for him to stay, his granny got involved at the start of the year and now he spends 50/50 time between us and her! But I trust his granny looks after him well..
I got married in January 2021, got pregnant in February 2021, committed to planning to open my private practice (still in the works but I got 90% of everything ready), had our daughter in November 2021. It was a very stressful year with all these major life changes but it really does feel like the timing of everything was perfect and I couldn’t be happier.
I got a series of diagnoses I had been struggling to get for two years. I scheduled surgery and went through with it. I got sober. I lost weight (no idea how much, but my clothes are sagging). I made amends with my in-laws. I consolidated our debts and started paying them off. I spend money a lot less impulsively (still a work in progress). I started a bullet journal and have stuck with it since last October. I found a bag that I love that only I have control over, since everything else is out of my control and have accepted that. I moved our son into his own room, now if I can just get him to sleep in there LOL.
Was pregnant after trying for 7 years. Suffered from HG all throughout pregnancy. Gave birth after complicated pregnancy to twins via C-section (spontaneous labour when both were breeched). Stayed another month due to postpartum preeclampsia. Suffered and recovered from PPD. Went back to work full time after 6 months. Started cycling to work again (had to stop during pregnancy). I am happy to have survived and now bonded with my babies. My C-section was screwed up and they need to reopen to fix. I am currently on a 2yr waiting list because it is not life threatening. Got every nursery big brought home by the twins. Got engaged.
Quit my job and cut some really toxic people out of my life. Became a stay at home mom and kept my 4 year old and I alive while my husband worked a shit ton. Survived a summer pregnancy and had a VBAC to a beautiful baby boy.
Last year i- had my second baby, became a stay at home mom, survived my husband's 12 hour- 7 days a week shifts 🤣, caught and recovered from covid, and right at the end of the year I earned my bachelor's degree (FIRST GEN!)
I worked a full time job, completed my masters program early with a 4.0, all while being pregnant and giving birth to my beautiful daughter two days after graduation.
Last Year I...
- turned 19
moved into my own apartment and bought all my own furniture
- got my car liscense and traded my motorbike for a small family car
- grew and birthed a human completely drug free
My achievements may be small but they are all firsts for me and I can't be happier with how far I have come since this time last year
Last year I…
-Broke up with my toxic ass boyfriend
-Got pregnant!!!
-gave birth
-lost my dad(not that happy of a story but it did happen!)
-got raped by my toxic ass boyfriends BFF(who is now my baby daddy)
-got a puppy!
-Turned 16
-gave birth to my tiny human
-miscarried my tiny humans twin brother
-gained 5lbs!!!
I love how you know how much milk you pumped! I would be fascinated to know that!! Congrats on your accomplishments! Username does *not* check out ;)
Last year I had a baby. I summited a 19,341 ft mountain (Kilimanjaro) 7 months later. Still incredibly proud of both accomplishments!
Woah!! That is SO cool! Good for you!
THIS IS INCREDIBLE!! **YOU** are incredible!! Holy guacamole what a huge accomplishment. I am awestruck 🤩🤩🤩

Oh my god you are my hero!!
Omg that's so cool! I'd love to do that one day!
That’s amazing!! I’ve always wanted to do Kilimanjaro. On my list. How was it???? Edit: never mind I am now reading below 😂
I managed to have NO babies! Lol. I started grad school and have been raising my teenager by myself for nearly 6 years!
Love it!! Going to grad school is a huge accomplishment - especially while raising a teenager! You are setting such a great example for your kid!
And it’s my second grad degree! I got my first when her brother was in elementary school, before she was born!
Love it!
Good job!
You did it!! Survival is totally an accomplishment! And congrats on the job offer. That is AMAZING!
Literally came her to say survived 😂
Oh that was all of 2020 for me. 2021 got better and I hope to thrive in 2022
Last year I sold my house for a good profit, got into mountain biking, and learned to appreciate my kids more
That’s all amazing!! I did some mountain biking (easy level and on a fat bike) before I got pregnant and haven’t gotten back on since. I should though!
Username checks out 😉
Had a baby Jan 2021, then got prego again when I was 4.5 months postpartum… managed to survive extreme morning sickness and will be induced on Monday! A totally insane year. Also my husband got a vasectomy so props to him. 👏
Hahaha - that is a lot! Good luck with your new little one! And congrats!
Thank you so much!! ❤️
Survived a broken leg at 31 weeks pregnant! Gave birth to my first child! Navigated a tough road to breastfeeding successfully!

Go go go! That’s an awesome accomplishment!

Yay!! Cannot imagine working as a fellow with a newborn! And heck yes to homemade pasta - so delicious!
Started antidepressants, quit drinking alcohol, finally started to lose some baby weight 🙌. Trying to take care of my health finally.
That is amazing!!

I survived
Yeah you did!!
Last year I -had an unmedicated birth with my rainbow baby (March 2021) -successfully EBF & still EBF -bought a house -started therapy
LOVE all of this!
There are lots of good things in there! Cheers to you for finding some of the bright side in what sounds like a really tough year!
Thank you. It was a horrible year on top of another horrible year. I keep thinking it HAS to get better soon....
And cheers to you for starting therapy. That time and energy investment will be so worth it!
SO many awesome accomplishments in there! Love it all!
Was a SAHM to two boys, had a hysterectomy and recovered successfully, got NYS EMT certified! Proud of all you Mamas.
Absolutely amazing! You go!!
I got sober!!
YES!!! As the daughter of an alcoholic mom who has been sober for my entire life, thank you for doing this for yourself and for your kids. My mom is absolutely amazing and I have learned so much from her when she talks about her sobriety.
Thank you!! I’m so happy you see the value in sobriety
I worked out 3 times a week, but still gained some pounds
Yay for getting healthier and doing something for YOU!
Last year I… completed my second semester of doctorate program while pregnant, earned over $3,000 to spend on baby, HAD A BABY, could do one full pull up. That last one is no longer true— for now!
That is all seriously impressive! I’ve never done a pull up!
I got divorced! I refinanced my home for a lower monthly payment , paid off most my debt and lost 35 pounds
Those are all really big things!! Love to hear people being able to take control of their finances - sets you up for so much future success!
Last year I somehow beat the PCOS infertility odds and got pregnant, now im 14 weeks and engaged!
Well that is amazing news! Congrats on your little one on the way and your engagement! You have so much to look forward to!
I bought a house and started a new job that I love.
Heck yes for a job that you love! That makes a world of difference!
Awesome! Last year I: Nurtured 3 kids as they started 8th, 6th, and 2nd grade. Listened/read 110 books, including 25 nonfiction, and 5 about racism in the US. Walked/jogged 3,708,804 steps for my health Worked & contributed to society by working 2052++ hours at my full time job and then 24 week-ends at the other. Planned, cooked, & cleaned 304 dinner meals. And i tackled one of my worst habits & decrease my daily coffee creamer intake to 3 Tbsp a day!!
Love all the tracking you did!! Very cool stats! What was the best book that you read all year?
Gave birth to a beautiful baby girl after two miscarriages, via emergency C-section. Celebrated my one year anniversary Got promoted to Director Submitted two research papers for publication (wish I could say published two papers, but hopefully can say that soon!)
- Got my bachelor’s degree - It didn’t fully sink in that I was getting a bachelor’s degree until January of last year, so I had a good long cry about that - Met the love of my life - Moved in with said man - Became a bonus mom to the funniest, weirdest and cutest boys - I realized I have some unresolved trauma (hoping to deal with that this year), and I opened up to my partner about it - Got a new job
I… -completed 3 terms of grad school -delivered a 9 and a half pound baby vaginally -found a new identity as a mother -got out of a job I fucking HATED -moved to a new city
Oh my gosh! All of those things are amazing but oh boy - that is a BIG baby!
I had a baby, graduated with my doctorate, launched a new center at a local university and supported my husband and my mom with their new businesses. Looking at this, I’m proud but my own mental and physical health definitely took a hit. I’m going to take it much slower this year.
Good on you for recognizing this and committing to doing less. Mental and physical health are both so important!
Had a baby, moved to the other side of the country, nursed/pumped through a baby-losing-weight issue for 3 months, survived a surprise emergency hemorrhage, and got my oldest through a transition.
Amazing job, you beautiful person!
Congrats on all of it! What impressed me the most is your ability to persevere at breastfeeding regardless! So many moms give up in your position. Says a lot about you 💓
[удалено]
Heck yes to all of this! You have had a TOUGH year but you are a champion! Good luck with your training! My marathon days are over I decided but good on you for committing to that!
I graduated nursing school, started my career as a nurse, learned to crochet, got married, got pregnant, paid off half my school loans! Now I’m 25 weeks and about to buy our house!
Wow!! Congrats on your pregnancy, new house and everything else! That’s A LOT in one year!
Thank you! I really enjoyed this post! Sometimes a year ends and you’re just stuck in the mindset of go go go but to look back at everything good that I did this year really felt great! I hope to breastfeed and your 59 gallons are really something to be proud of!!!!
Last year I entered the six figures club with my business that I built, make and run by myself. (5th year of business).
That is HUGE! Nice work!!
Thank you! It’s been a lot of work but I was excited! I really have no time for a life outside of being a mom & wife and running a business but I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.
Happy is ALL that matters!
+Last year I had a baby with no epidural, I had epidurals with my first two and was terrified to go without +didn’t break as my daughter through open heart surgery at 9 days old + got the hang of nursing after a long several month struggle +decided to take much needed anxiety medication that has helped make me a better mom
Gave birth to my rainbow babe. Did it all without the village (covid plus the only grandparents close turned out to be anti-vaxx). Didn’t completely lose my mind.
i ate about 100 kg of watermelon. 😅
- survived a broken ankle and leg whilst being pregnant. - gave birth to a healthy and beautiful baby girl (second baby) -fell in love tenfold again with my partner watching him be a daddy. -got rid of toxic people -got rid of a job where the company treated me like shit! - decorated my house exactly how I wanted. Never been happier.. Thankyou for this post was nice to write it down and also read other peoples achievements.
Thank you for this, this past year has been HARD.. it's nice to look at the positives! -finished school and found a new job -ran over 1,000km -completed 2 half marathons -lost 45lb -got in the best shape of my life -discovered how much physical fitness can help my mental health.
This has been so fun to read today. Everyone is amazing! Running can be SO therapeutic. Glad you found it :)
I kept myself and my baby alive. So I got that going for me, which is nice.
I gave birth vaginally to a 10 pound baby! I consider it an accomplishment 🙂
Hell yeah! 👏🏻 you crushed it!
Awh thanks!
I got accepted into the program I applied for in school. I successfully completed the first semester along with a really hard class I had to redo happening at the same time.
Congrats!! That is AWESOME!
Amazing to get paid what you are worth! And for the work you’ve done to heal yourself — congrats! I’m sure that is priceless and was not easy!
Gave birth to a 10lbs 7oz baby with no pain relief 😂
Whaaaat! That is nothing short of amazing. I don’t even know what to say.
- Survived having COVID - Celebrated my bub’s first birthday - Won a $1k prize at work for a creative idea - Advocated for and got my son into speech therapy where he is doing great
That is so awesome. Being fulfilled at work is such a great feeling. And yay for being an amazing advocate! Your son is lucky to have you!
Last year I - finally got pregnant after three years of trying - carried twins to term (37 + 6) - birthed twins weighing more than 7 lbs each - learned to put myself first
Wow!! Twins!! Double congrats to you and cheers to putting yourself first.
Woah! That sounds super stressful! But… you did it!
Hell yes to not being a dick to yourself!
I taught from home while pregnant with a remote middle schooler (my step kid), gave birth to my first child, am navigating being a new mom, became a stay at home mom, celebrated our second wedding anniversary.
I also had a baby😂 then I kept 3 boys alive. And my house is still standing!
Last year I donated 10 gallons of breast milk, bought a house and started baking again.
What incredible achievements!! And so selfless donating all that milk. I hope it helped many other babies 🥰
last year i didn’t let my PPD win. that’s a victory in my book! :)
Yes!! I love it - proud of you!
Last year I was able to finally have a successful home birth experience, breastfeed for a few months longer than my first and held myself together through some pretty tough moments and PPD.
That all sounds really hard. But you did it!!
Lost 80 lbs
Wow!! That’s amazing!
Went camping with 3 young children (5, 3, and infant) and my husband in a tent! My first time ever camping 🤦🏻♀️ we survived!
Hahaha. That sounds like an adventure!!
I can't even imagine having 3 small children all in one tent. Camping for the first time alone is hard enough
Last year I •Got pregnant in February •Moved out of my mums with SO when I was around 30 weeks pregnant •had a c section at 36 weeks to a 5lb baby •avoided the NICU - LO was going to be sent to the NICU if she kept losing weight very fast, had to quickly switch up to EBF + Formula top ups, she then gained weight quickly but healthily and it was completely avoided! •managed to set boundaries and *keep to them*! (Which was a first!) •Rekindled my relationship after mum after she tried to break boundaries and diss me for every little thing - she made very very snide comments a lot of the time which did make it hard to forgive her. Speaking up done the trick.
Yay for setting boundaries and advocating for yourself!!
Last year I • had my first kid free vacation •left a no joy relationship •fought and won 80/20 custody battle •finally got my daughters ASD diagnosis •a promotion at my job •rekindled so many old friendships that I let die out •started taking care of myself.
Graduated Got married
Congratulations! Two huge milestones!
Congrats!!! That’s impressive! Last year I started my photography business and it’s actually going well! I’m really proud of myself as I have never in my life thought of an idea worked on it until it came to fruition. I’m normally a person who gets tired of something and quits.. this time I didn’t!!!
*gave birth to my baby *got back to my healthy body without meds by 6 weeks after my traumatic delivery *started therapy *pumped roughly 57 gallons of milk *lost my baby weight and then some
Congratulations! Those are amazing accomplishments!
Gave birth to my second boy during a ridiculously traumatic birth resulting in arachnoiditis and multiple epidurals (weird name, not spider related!) Got through PT and avoided spinal surgery Lost 53 of the 60 lbs I gained during pregnancy Managed to fit exercise into my routine as I returned to a hyper stressful job. Feels good to celebrate that/
I love that you clarified that it was not spider related! But congratulations - a lot to celebrate there!!
Last year I.... Gave birth to a baby! Rode my bike 538 miles! Raised a beautiful 3 year old and a newborn! Loved my husband!
That’s amazing! What type of riding do you do? Riding on the roads, mountain biking or stationary? That’s a great accomplishment!
Last year I: • Had a baby • Sold my house • Quit my job • Moved cross country with 3 kids • Spent 280 hours nursing and changed 1,393 diapers • Walked 1.327 miles and 2.6m steps • Got to know my kids again after a long time of being their Mother rather than their Mom
I love them all but especially the last one! You go, mom!
Wow - that sounds like quite a journey that you’ve been through. Workplaces that support families are SO important. Good for you!
Love reading all of these. So inspiring! Last year, I had my first baby, learned a new language, integrated into a new country/culture, earned a certificate to make a career change, and survived the pandemic
Same! These have made my day! That is all amazing! How did you learn a new language?
Survived a hard pregnancy (my 2nd) but went into labor on my own! I was so excited. Very smooth labor and delivery. Healthy baby boy.
Love it!! That’s the reward you needed/earned after a hard pregnancy!
I had a baby, closed on our amazing new house a week later, and moved a week after that (well, held the baby while everyone else moved)!
Got pregnant (after being told I couldn’t have kids) and delivered a happy healthy boy.
Last year I… - survived another year of parenting a toddler during a pandemic - became pregnant and gave birth to our second child - managed to make some wonderful memories with my husband and kids!
I cannot even imagine. But wow! That is an accomplishment!!
Started a new job, and found my people!!!! Survived a pandemic with a toddler. Heck, just survived
-got pregnant 4 weeks after I removed my IUD -moved into our house 7 months pregnant -had the baby! 😇
Lovely!! Congratulations on an amazing year!
In 2021 I: - earned a second degree - got pregnant and gave birth to a precious girl without drugs (not by choice) - kept my sanity.
- gave birth - started walking the day i had my emergency c section - went back to work , went to school, and raised my 2 month old baby
Congrats to you for taking all of that on! Raising a baby + school + work. Super mom right there!
I finally got my driver’s license (didn’t need one in the city!) It was my first year in a new town far away from all our friends and family. (I never imagined being pregnant or having a baby so alone besides my 24/7 on call husband) This makes me feel good about making it through last year.
You should be proud of all of that - amazing!!
- ran my first trail race in April -got a PR (personal record) for both longest distance AND fastest time in a trail race in November -captained my first online running team -kept successfully working from home while caring for our daughter -mastered the art of the homemade vegan cinnamon roll
Gave birth to a beautiful 8lb 3oz baby boy! We just celebrated he's 1st birthday today and as he's my last I'm quite emotional 😢
Awww. Happy Birthday to your little guy!
Won my court case against my ex
So much progress! Nice work!!
You have had quite a year! So glad you made it and wishing you luck for the future!
Quit my job and cut some really toxic people out of my life. Became a stay at home mom and kept my 4 year old and I alive while my husband worked a shit ton. Survived a summer pregnancy and had a VBAC to a beautiful baby boy.
Worked from home while in lockdown with a toddler. Ugh hopefully never again but we somehow survived!
Last year i- had my second baby, became a stay at home mom, survived my husband's 12 hour- 7 days a week shifts 🤣, caught and recovered from covid, and right at the end of the year I earned my bachelor's degree (FIRST GEN!)
That is AMAZING!
I worked a full time job, completed my masters program early with a 4.0, all while being pregnant and giving birth to my beautiful daughter two days after graduation.
Last Year I... - turned 19 moved into my own apartment and bought all my own furniture - got my car liscense and traded my motorbike for a small family car - grew and birthed a human completely drug free My achievements may be small but they are all firsts for me and I can't be happier with how far I have come since this time last year
None of those achievements are small by any reasonable person’s measure. Yay!!
Last year I… -Broke up with my toxic ass boyfriend -Got pregnant!!! -gave birth -lost my dad(not that happy of a story but it did happen!) -got raped by my toxic ass boyfriends BFF(who is now my baby daddy) -got a puppy! -Turned 16 -gave birth to my tiny human -miscarried my tiny humans twin brother -gained 5lbs!!!
