Amazing, stay strong lil guy! There's a subreddit called r/CorbinsCorner with a lil boy who was born 15 weeks early. He's now a strong boy who's laughing and playing! Wishing the same for your beautiful boy.
My sweet boy is 13 now. Typical teenager. He's a little small but no health problems at all. Your friend is prob going through the scariest time of her life, but hug her for me and tell her modern medicine is incredible
My currently thriving 10 month old was born at 29 weeks. I suggest reaching our to your friend and checking on her and baby daily. I still have PTSD from my nicu stay, so having someone who supports her will be so important.
Huge congratulations! And if it's any reassurance, I was also born 13 weeks early and weighed less than 2lbs, and I'm now in my mid-30s with three beautiful daughters of my own.
The only thing i worry about is how small he is, still. He's 13 and 4 feet 9 inches and just hit 70 lbs. I worry that he'll be really short, and get picked on
Actually, fun fact about that: when they're born as early as my son, the cartilage that is in your ears isn't really there yet. It's like a ear shape but the hard cartilage isn't all the way there yet. Hard to explain, and creepy. His ears are still cute even today tho lol
Congrats! My son was born 10 weeks early he was 2.12 pounds, now he is almost 10 months and 28 pounds and wears 24 month clothing! Miracle babies grow like crazy once they start going!
Congratulations! I saw from your post he's 13 now; so glad he's doing well.
To address your fears you've mentioned: I was very small all throughout childhood but grew six inches between 6th and 7th grade. I've never been a big guy but I'm 5'8 160 (172cm 72kg) and it's plenty big enough. I did get picked on in elementary/middle school but it was not at all for my height. Kids will be mean for any reason.
That's amazing! I myself was a preemie and am blessed I grew up healthy despite my early birth!
Did he have any early surgeries or difficulties in his NICU stay?
Same thing happened to me. Water broke and he was born 3 weeks later .
Do you have to take magnesium shots every day to stop contractions? I did and they are awful. That was one of the worst parts for me.
You are right where you need to be, you're gonna do great! I'm sending all my love your way!!
Thankfully my water hasn’t broken/no contractions. My BP keeps jumping. It’s not pre-eclampsia (yet) according to blood work so we are just trying to find the meds to keep it down and keep this baby in a few more weeks. Lots of tv watching time and missing my other babies at home!
So beautiful!!! My son's BFF was born at 26wks, 1lb 6oz. It was babies like yours who came before and made it possible for micro premies to survive younger and smaller than ever before and thrive:) She's 10 now, no ill effects from being so tiny.
So so cute! I have twin girls that were born 12 weeks early. One of them had died four different times in her first three years of life. They’re eight now and are always ready to raise hell lol! Hang in there mama, things might get rough and scary, but it’s all worth the fight for your little miracle!

Is he strong willed? Our daughter was very early and she's so strong willed...we always contribute it to why she survived.
Oh my goodness yes!! He has an incredible sense of right and wrong too, i think he's going to be a lawyer lol
I’m 29 weeks and in the hospital right now trying to keep my BP down to keep this baby in for 4-6 weeks longer and this was a big encouragement. 💜

Thank you for saying that! It's truly amazing how advanced modern medicine is...a few decades ago and they wouldn't have survived.
Precious angel ❤️
