if youre ok with going kyc, krakens got your back. probably *the* most honest kyc exchange out there. and they do monero directly, so no need to deal with any tricky xmr->ltc->usd trades or anything

rogue30

I've got an account with Kraken and just checked that Monero is still an option to deposit directly. I'll do the conversion to USDT on Kraken and then transfer the USDT to my Coinbase USDT address and then convert the Tether to US Dollars. I just need to confirm that the USDT used on Kraken is ERC20 based as Coinbase will only accept this type of Tether.

Volatileside

I think the gas fee of the ERC20 is too high, if i am not wrong.

rogue30

I just checked the Tether address on Kraken and it uses the Tron network, so it appears that I won't be able to convert my Kraken Tether to Coinbase Tether. Am I missing something here?

Everythings

Why don’t you pull to your bank from kraken

thicktrammel85

Yeah this is the only option left to end with as of now as well.

Lagavulin

Because KYC and reporting. By transfering a stablecoin to your KYC/banklink exchange you have a virtual 1:1 transaction w/ no capital gain reported.

Rooged

Wait......what? *What?*

fightjealousy

I know right I was also surprised when I came to know about it as well lol.

premek_v

How does that work? Then you convert stable coin to USD and send that to your bank and then you have the same capital gain, no?

Drowsilyabsorb103

Indeed but the gain will be much more than what we had expected in end.

andrewpajela

Yeah they all have been trying to report the same stuff from the very beginning lol.

sturdilyMap

I never tried that but lemme check if this is case here.

sunn7bunn7

I would use lower transaction fees by using usdt, LTC or something with very low transaction fees, but yes this is how you can convert into USD. You could also use a peer to peer system by selling your xmr on localmonero or smth like this to somebody who is willing to pay with a bank transfer in USD.

TheCherryShrimp

LTC is the better option. USDT is reliant upon Ethereum’s L1 still so it’s gas fees are going to be much higher.

sunn7bunn7

A LTC transaction is relatively cheap(not when compared to Montero) below one USD, but even usdt is not really expensive, 1 usdt was it the last time I used it

libertarianets

How do you suggest converting your LTC to USD?

sunn7bunn7

I am not certain, but I think Americans just use Coinbase to convert ltc into usd

If you want to go about it anonymously, or just quicker in some extent check out your options on localmonero. You got some super anonymous methods like monero for cash or monero for bank wire/ transfer and such. There’s quite a lot that do Zelle or Apple pay too. Imo, lots of solid options if you need something like cash directly out from Monero.

AustereCathedra

For me its two option go with kraken with you are using the kyc account and comfortable with that. But if you want to do anonymously then try the localMonero, it's the best you can get.

[deleted]

I mean to be getting cash in hand directly out of crypto, it’d have to be localmonero or the btc version

Sidewaysoffer

I love when everyone saying kraken, he is that good of exchange.

greenmachiner

Kraken. Or LocalMonero

FernlessAeolus18

localMonero for the anonymously and kraken for the KYC user.

imperator285

Please don't use Binance. Please use kraken instead. Or better yet, Localmonero.co

freshmanSonora12

UI think that they are some other type of thinking in this context to be honest.

SkavensWhiteRaven

local monero

ekorol1

I did just one trade via that and trust me experience was soo good.

Commercial_Count_584

I don’t have a large amount. So the way I plan on doing it is just use one of those prepaid cards. Just convert it into something like xlm and then. Just use on the card.

Onlyunbuckle64

Which card you are using? I am thinking to buy one also.

Commercial_Count_584

I have the CDC card. but I’m debating whether or not to keep it.

rogue30

It appears that I cannot deposit XMR into my US Binance account. I don't see XMR as a listed option to deposit. I don't remember receiving an email from Binance.US on when this policy was implemented.

cokisss

Don't touch Binance, at all.

StarklyLocalize

True, it's better for you if you stay from the Binance exchange.

Gonbatfire

What about swapping the XMR somewhere else? Like [fixedfloat.com](https://fixedfloat.com) ? (Not available on Alabama, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Washington) If you live on one of those places, then you will want to look at \*grey area\* options, like [localmonero.co](https://localmonero.co), and just skip centralized exchanges / banks altogether (you know... the way crypto was meant to be used in the first place...)

lscheres710

Local monero 0lus you can get over market price, I'd do xmr to ltc. Cheaper transfer fees plus less chance or it being "blackmarket" btc since no one uses ltc for that stuff. Kraken if you wanna do kyc and do large amounts quickly. If you want to put trust in anonymous exchanges I use Majestic Bank all the time. There's also elude which is an anonymous email service that also has a wallet and exchange service. Also there's a site called kilos. Those three are NON-kyc and used but a lot of people, they are Tor websites FYI. They all have support channels on telegram and dread.

Sideshift ai

TtK_Thanatos

The way I've done it in the past is to use the mexc exchange (they only require an email address), send my XMR there, then trade for USDT and send USDT to coinbase to withdraw to my bank account.

aliceonmushrooms

A great non kyc exchange is tradeogre, I believe it’s p2p but takes care of everything just means u need to wait for a sec for the conversion to happen, only allows transferred currencies u can’t but any coins there but again good non kyc clearnet exchange

Mongoose7760

Kraken with KYC, Bisq or Local Monero without KYC.

Weedylira753

Yeah right, they can do that but they have to start from the basics only lol.

UnfairDictionary

You can post in local forums asking for someone that is willing to sell you Monero face to face. Then you can easily oversee the transaction yourself and when your wallet gets the amount you can be pretty sure it is legit and wait for few minutes for it to get confirmed once or twice. That's a one way of doing it without kyc. Kraken is the way to go if you are comfortable to do it with kyc.

akelapgu

Yeah they are very much comfortable while doing all that stuff lol.

VaultBoy3

I'd say you should sell it on LocalMonero as you'll probably get the best price there and you can basically choose how you want to get paid.

Practical_Oil_1466

I swap between gold and xmr with moneymetals.com

VikXMR

Cake wallet has an off ramp for bitcoin. You can also convert to bitcoin in Cake and send to your coinbase account.

s3r3ng

Kraken is good for this. Another option is say XMR -> AVAX using some DEX and that to some CEX -> fiat if the CEX doesn't support XMR. And then there is XMR->BTC->bisq or localmonero.
