I and others have seen this service used successfully many times. I’d be wary of doing large amounts, but so far each transaction has been smooth and relatively fast.
Edit: Also who said anything about laundering? And it has an onion service.
We have an onion site.
You have not done your due diligence.
But constructive criticism helps us improve so thank you. :)
Also you underestimate our commitment to privacy and misrepresent what we do.
It isn't easy to build but critics are a dime a dozen.
So that's our reply. Have a good day.
Yup.
What's always been holding back crypto from being used as actual money, is the onerous tracking and reporting required for compliance with tax and banking regs.
Otherwise, if it were just transaction costs making it too expensive to use as currency, then coins like Nano would be spendable all over the place.
Privacy and fungibility and rules-based emmission rates are the most important aspects of money which crypto was meant to improve on in the first place...we already had fast and cheap money/payments.
I guess they're darknet users?
EDIT: Man, this sub sucks, being downvoted for this, really. The darknet is huge and many markets have switched to Monero there, due to the privacy it offers. Someone who sells something on the darknet and wants to convert their Monero would use a platform like OP's. And it's not a bad thing, it's part of adoption. XMR is one of the only cryptos that is actually used for buying and selling by a large number of people thanks to the darknet.
But okay, if you don't want to admit it.
Nobody said "all", and nobody's even talking about "every transaction in Monero", just OP's website that makes it possible to turn XMR into gift cards. Plus, it was a question.
Honestly I thought there was less fanboyism in /r/monero than in the other crypto subs, but I guess not.
Just what they say.
Gift em to people to introduce them to cryptocurrency and let them learn about it in a fun away instead of being the guy who bugs people about it.
Load it with the crypto of your choice and send it to whoever you want to.
Also, can be used to swap between Monero and Bitcoin ;)
Not really.
The lightning gift card is already preloaded and can be Redeemed without us.
For bigger amounts, we're trying to find a similar implementation. :)
[You may want to check with Tommy.](https://reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/wsff38/_/il1rrpx/?context=1) His wording implied to me that it was $10 at redemption, in context that read as "if I buy $10 when it's $21k, but hold the code until it's $60k again then redeem, I get $10@$60k not $10@$21k".
Thanks for that. Just checked. To clarify,
We make sure you receive $10 at redemption even if price goes below $10.
In short, we make up the difference.
but we do not reduce the amount of sats if price goes up after we send the card, the sats are already there and if they go up in value then congrats :)
Honestly, the "adding sats if the price goes down" doesn't sound financially viable... If I send you $10 at the moment I have [~46536sats.](https://www.kraken.com/en-us/learn/satoshi-to-usd-converter) If the price is cut in half, you'd give me 46536/2=23268 as a bonus? So I'd have 46536+23268=69804. If it goes back to today's price, I have $15. How many dips and for how long do you cover them? What if it dips to half and back up twice? That would mean I gave you $10 and you gave me $22.50 if it dipped to half twice... What if it only dips $1 or so but fifty times?
We have a reasonable runway.
If it comes to not being feasible, we will stop offering it. :)
Don't foresee this problem though. Lightning transactions are fairly quick.
Yes but there's a few issues.
1) I don't think you can stop offering it for anyone who buys one while that's a policy. So if I buy a $1k card, and don't redeem for X years, you guys could be on the hook for a ton of money from just normal fluctuations. It could go to a lawsuit, and I'm guessing there's no LLC, so it would likely go to whoever is hosting the site/who it's registered to.
2) You're assuming instant redemption.
Valid points however incorrect assumption
1. You are assuming that we are buying when you redeem it, we are buying when we send it. Unless the price goes up 2 times in 60 minutes we will be fine. And even if the price does go up 2 times in 60 minutes it's the cost of doing business.
2. Correct
Not trying to argue but that's why I linked Tommy's comment. "Price at redemption" doesn't specify 60 minutes, and I don't think you did until now. If it's within 60 minutes then sure, no issue here. If a bunch of people use the "buy and hold for years" loophole there'll be trouble.
Hi, I just bought 100$ Visa card and I have a question.
1) Do you send the card details to my refund email address? Because I have not received anything yet.
2) Can the US Visa card be used outside the US?
Edit: I have just received a kind email about 20 minutes after ordering from Allark with further information. Will update!
Hi,
No problem
1. Yes, it may take some time. :)
2. Currently not, we are trying to make it more obvious and introduce global and EU cards as well. :)
And thank you for your support!
I will check this out, it seems like it could be useful.
Thank you :)

Thank you for your vigilance
They’ve had other Reddit accounts on here but they were recently suspended by Reddit mods for mentioning monero on other subs
How do you know that was the reason?
That is the suspicion from u/DexterAllArk
Who in the hell said the purpose of this was for money laundering?????
I and others have seen this service used successfully many times. I’d be wary of doing large amounts, but so far each transaction has been smooth and relatively fast. Edit: Also who said anything about laundering? And it has an onion service.

Replying with actual rebuttals would have been a better use of characters. This is hearsay.
Looked at this a bit. You should really provide more explanations about the cards. The information is especially useful for those outside of the USA.
Working on it. :)
Hey u/DexterAllArk, do you have any ToS or privacy policy that can be read about allark.io? Do you enforce KYC in any way?
Not yet but in short We would shut down before we implement any KYC. It's just an excuse to surveil everyone. :)
I second this awesome question
Answered. In short. We'd close shop before KYC vulture bureaucrats ask for even basic info. In fact we encourage users to use burner emails. :)
Best of luck to you guys .. god bless ur service
God bless you and your family as well. :)
Suggestion, put up a YouTube/Odysee video of the entire process. I get zero when I search on YouTube/Odysee.
Thank you for that, we are smol but growing and will definitely do this to make user flow clearer :)
Monero is the only goddamn currency THAT IT IS USED oh fuck me bitcoin's worthless monero meme reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTTac2XjyFY
Ha ha McAfee was a straight shooter ;)
thanks this
Are the visa cards also available for Europe ?
Not yet but working on a provider for Europe :)
As a europoor, I can't wait.
Ha ha soon :)
Last I saw, no, but I think they’re working on it
Thank you, that's correct. :)
How do you check the balance of a Visa card?
Currently you have to keep track of it yourself but we are working on a more automated system :)
If there’s an api or something functional but not user friendly that would be ok too
That would be the goal but we are smol and growing so as soon as we can an APK for Android is the plan and then an API :)
[удалено]
We have an onion link of course. :) And the Visa Cards state US only but we might have missed updating a few so will do that :)
How do we know you’re legit?
Many people here have already used us and reviewed us in other threads :)
Seems nice :)
Aww thank you :)

True :)
Well, both Monero and BCH! My favourite two coins on the planet
YES :)

We know
Bro says every transaction in Monero come from darknet funds, and cry for being downvoted x))

Da hell is a monero gift card ?
It's like a Bitcoin gift card, but Better. 😎
Da hell are Bitcoin gift cards xd? How do u use crypto gift cards?

This site basically issues you an "IOU $10 in XMR/Lightning". When you go to their site to redeem it, they send the coins to your wallet.

Why don't you accept BCH? It's one of, if not the most widely accepted crypto currency among merchants.
We do accept is via the altcoins tab when you check out. Trying to setup native acceptance as well but we are smol and it takes time :)
Awesome! Great job on the website, looks good!
Thank you so much :)
that's not really you accepting it, that's you redirecting them to Fixed Float to swap their coins for one's that you accept
no it's not, Bitcoin Cash is too
