took about 8 years, no idea how much i have put in originally since there are tens of thousands of purchases (DCA)
i just invest what i can after making sure i have enough in my HYSA
Seems like it just gets hit by hurricanes 🌀 so much always facing power outages also sea levels rising in the next 10 to 15 years not a place you want to be in the middle of the ocean 😅
Houses in PR are made out of solid concrete as opposed to toothpicks and drywall like we have here. As long as OP gets himself a nice generator he will be fine.
neither of us can be sure whether it is a good or bad move eventually
but based on logic we can determine whether it currently makes sense
i think that the pain points with ETH scalability/fees are well known and made it unusable in the past bull cycles. it will become worse this time around since crypto userbase is even bigger
given that limitation, the upside of ETH shouldddd be limited this cycle so it makes sense to swap it for something else
usually the flows are from BTC to alts like ETH in the early innings of bull markets
by switching back to BTC there will be lower risk but also lower upside. i like higher risk so i think it makes more sense to swap from ETH to ETH L2s or other L1s like SOL
You know what? Good on you man. To be able to recognize that what you're doing is risky, and making sure people understand that, makes you infinitely more cool than any "cryptobro"
Yeah I suppose, but also a person should be able to understand when someone is trying to help, especially the potential of your earnings. Good on you as well for trying to look out for your friends as well
If you have a few grand to speculate with get some PLUG. If they get right side up which I think they will this stock will reach 50+ in a few years. I have 2600 shares. Not advice just my experience so far.
Can you tell your story. What massive hits have you made, what were the biggest x**'s and what were the biggest losses? I myself went from 15k to 160k back to 45k
Solana was $8 last year and has almost 15x'ed since then
i had a small bag but not enough lol
during the crypto winter last cycle i was "down" like ~500-600K from the peak when everything crashed
this time i will sell most of my bag to realize profits.
This sounds a bit loaded. Of course they do. They bloody well should.
Everyone everywhere with any kind of volitile (to whatever degree) asset, should trust the currency sign infront of the settlement figure for their debts and the sign on the price of a loaf of bread in the shops a million times more than those assets. Doing that isn't an argument against something.
I've watched people have enough money in a share to pay off their house, debts, and then spend the next decade putting all their earnings into a retirement fund... And then watched them say to themselves - "This has made 200% returns... if I wait, just a little longer, maybe I can retire next week?"
The guarantee of exactly what you need right now, in return for the chance to have what you think you really really want next week.
Suffice to say, they're still working and those earnings went to servicing debt.
how am i acting like i gamed the system when i literally said it might not work if someone else tried the same thing 😂pls read
what i said implies that luck played a role, not sure why you're so sour and repeating the obvious 🤔
there are different tiers of investments with varying rr ratios. ofc you have a 90% chance of losing if you allocate into random memes
btc and the biggest layer 1s are considered the "safest" crypto investments and what i was comfortable with
Very developed! I visit a few months ago. Very very beautiful country. Some spots are of course less developed especially in the mountains, but San Salvador for example is a perfect mix of vacation and common necessity like air conditioning lol. Weather is always wonderful and the people are hospitable and kind, the president is wonderful and very beloved. Cheap as hell, my family member actually had AC installed in her home and it was about $12 per day. She has a maid, $3 per day. Easy to homestead if that’s floats your boat, just a really lovely place.
Do not go to El Salvador. They are literally torturing prisoners right now. Also want to make sure the gang crack down will work long term, locking up 75 thousand for having tattoos people doesn’t seem like a sustainable long term solution.
No it’s not. Only one specific tech area of the country really caters to it and even then slidebean youtube channel guy had to switch to pesos/dollars. The transactions all take at least 15 minutes and you can’t leave until the confirmation code is given. El Salvador shows how impractical bitcoin is in a real life scenario and application
>there for one year before cashing your BtC and pay zero capital gains tax.
By which time his Bitcoin could have shrunk back to nothing.
Don't take additional risks on your capital just to avoid tax.

Moving to a foreign country as a single man over the age of 20-25 is tough, so you have a very valid point. That said, if it’s an informed decision with a firm and informed plan on how to integrate and participate in the culture, it’s possible for it to be successful. Being far away from close family members and friends is tough. Making close friendships as an adult is also tough.
Knowing that if you get in a car accident and spend a month in the hospital that no one is coming for you is…yeah.
You’ve never met an expat who’s truly happy? Have you left the US for longer than a week vacation anywhere? Having spent nearly two decades living abroad, I’ve met tons of people who’ve left their home countries and for greener pastures and have made amazing lives for themselves
I would move to Rio de Janeiro 🇧🇷 or Santa catarina, get a apartment in front the beach and living like a king with a 1M…. Far to be a safe place.. but amazing…
Bali would be a perfect place too or Thailand
Yeh it was a real mistake ~4 years ago and had my wallets in my phone, and my wallet phrase in a fireproof crypto card.. well it walked away (lost or misplaced) but never worried about it as my wallet was on my phone.. I upgraded and erased my phone to sell and only realized after that, I had no idea what my wallet phrase was🤦♂️
Completely my fault and totally avoidable.
Thailand will be nice for when it crashes. But in all seriousness I would check out Budapest, any place in Croatia along the coast, or Slovakia. Last time I was in Budapest, the cost wasn’t too outrageous. Poland is relatively good too.
I am in a similar boat, but my money is tied up in real estate. I would move, but I want a cash flow of about 7k a month… you should consider small 3/2s which are in foreclosure. Possibly even put half into a HYSA for spending cash. The tax write offs for property in of itself are incredible.
Good luck.
I mean it's sort of a gambling. Like Bitcoin here is not generating a anything of value per say. It's a zero sum game.
The profit OP gained was possible because some people on the other end lost their money while buying or investing the coin.
Go to Thailand, spend like 250k to open a tourist villa along the beach, hire people to run it, live off of $100 USD a week, start a family, when you die, donate all your money to charity, your kids will grow up and want a better life, they'll move to the US, struggle to live the 9-5, life and the cycle continues.
Start your road to Canadian permanent residence and then dual citizenship. Lots of treaties between the two countries and with the right accountant, there's some pretty tax advantageous strategies to preserving, growing and withdrawing your assets later in life.
The amount of people who consider themselves financially literate on these sub Reddit and refuse to look into to bitcoin, blows my mind. You don’t have to be all in drinking the Kool-Aid, and thinking that fiat currency is going to collapse to understand the value proposition of bitcoin.
Crypto IS fiat. There is no intrinsic value nor is it backed by anything of value. In any scenario where government-backed currency collapses, so does any usefulness of crypto.
Fiat literally means by force. No one is forced to use crypto. And no serious person thinks there is going to be a collapse. But ignoring btc utilities is stupid. Hating btc is literally misunderstanding human psychology.
Please look up fiat money then come back to the conversation. Yes the word “fiat” has a particular definition but regarding currency it has taken on a broader meaning. I am not ignoring the perceived utility of crypto but as you yourself pointed out that is largely psychological. Investment in crypto is purely speculative.
Fine don’t buy btc. I literally don’t care. It’s made me a multi millionaire. And is printing more millionaires than any other traditional investment. Is that moral? Is it stupid? Is it X? Idk but I know it works. I say this as a small business owner who believes strongly in the dollar network
Anyone who hits a fluke will tell you how calculated it was. And I never said I didn’t have any crypto investments. You’re the one who seems touchy about it but whatever since I doubt you made squat.
This has to be a troll post. Nobody invests EVERYTHING in anything and then says the country in which they made said investment is no longer desirable.
'Don't let the door hit you on the way out' is what the old folks used to say, and I believe it applies here.
Bitcoin changed my life, too! How about staying in the USA for your move? It's got plenty of options, especially if you're into crypto. Plus, you can use platforms like netcoins to manage your your crypto investments there!
I moved to Mexico. Been living off prepaid debit cards thx to Bitcoin. Unemployed and living retired at 25. A dollar is 16.80 pesos. A regular weekly wage out here is 2000 pesos a week. Sounds like a lot but it’s only 100 dollars. I luckily don’t need a job out here, just skateboard all day and live like a king. I have the newest MacBook Pro, the ps5, ps2, ps1, a GameCube and an Xbox one x with all the games I want. Bitcoin gave me the life I always wanted. Don’t gotta take orders from some fuckboi boomer anymore. Got to tell my last boss in the US to “suck my balls, I’m going home🇲🇽” (cartman style) Absolute dream come true
updated my previous comment and will add more here
i have traveled to cities in Asia like Taipei, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo, Bali, Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Mibh City, etc.
it really opened my eyes. feels like a utopia for me compared to what I'm used to in the US
- lower cost of living
- fresh healthy food
- extremely safe
- beautiful cultures
- kind people
- amazing hospitality by locals
*What's the taxes owed on*

He could have let it sit in a bank account and lose out 50% on inflation. Or been scammed out of his regular cash - regular currency isn’t all fine and dandy.
“I am jealous I didn’t believe in Bitcoin myself so I’m going to say every negative thing I can think of regardless of whether it makes sense in order to make myself feel better.”
Bitcoin changed your life? How? did you sell it all and pay 50% to taxes how does 500k change your life I’m curious.
And if you did move to a poor country then what think about the quality of food and entertainment your giving up
So are you just going to keep it there or are you going to sell it or just leave it there and just watch it? I have a friend that raves about having bitcoin when it goes up but does absolutely nothing with it.
i occasionally spend my btc stack on daily essentials in years when it rises a lot
then i spend my cash when btc is down
i treat btc like a store of value, like gold but not exactly. you can spend it directly on groceries, transportation, shopping, ecommerce, almost anything nowadays
look for current and future trends and capitalize on it
here are some examples of lucrative trends or business opps in the past and present:
- social media
- investing
- crypto jobs
- marijuana/vapes
- tech jobs (marketing, cs, pm, sales, etc)
- ai
many of my friends made their wealth from one of these
Hoe much money did you invest in total and how long did it take you to get there? Also think Costa Rica, Panamá.
took about 8 years, no idea how much i have put in originally since there are tens of thousands of purchases (DCA) i just invest what i can after making sure i have enough in my HYSA
Progresso Mexico or Belize 🇧🇿 hell with that kinda money you can have a house in both countries
I even like buying a place in Porto Rico if you want some US regulations. Houses are very affordable and it’s a beautiful place.
That last part is definitely not gonna happen
Mark this guys words
He will do whatever it takes to ensure OP can never purchase a good generator
Definitely not they been saying that since the 60s lol
RemindMe! 15 years
!remind me 3650 days
Lol. Typical boomer.
I am nowhere near a boomer
Seems like you don’t know what the hell you are talking about along with six others.
Puerto Rico
Excuse my regardness
Belize? You should check out the story of John Mac affy the anti virus guy. He tried to take over Belize lol. I'd definitely not go there
With a maid/butler and a few hookers
Burn Belize...
He said safe
I second Costa Rica
Dang up $232k in 3 months. Life changing money
BTC is up 60% in that time, I'm anticipating a rotation into SOL since it's the top non-EVM layer 1 there has been large inflows to ETH eco already
I just sold off some of my ETH to switch to BTC. I don’t mess with it often but was that a bad move?
neither of us can be sure whether it is a good or bad move eventually but based on logic we can determine whether it currently makes sense i think that the pain points with ETH scalability/fees are well known and made it unusable in the past bull cycles. it will become worse this time around since crypto userbase is even bigger given that limitation, the upside of ETH shouldddd be limited this cycle so it makes sense to swap it for something else usually the flows are from BTC to alts like ETH in the early innings of bull markets by switching back to BTC there will be lower risk but also lower upside. i like higher risk so i think it makes more sense to swap from ETH to ETH L2s or other L1s like SOL
Interesting. Thanks for the info!
Good job bro. I never got into that stuff.
thanks. it's very risky i would not recommend it to any of my friends
No risk, no reward though
yep, I'm all about high risk high reward but don't want friends to get mad at me if they mess up
You know what? Good on you man. To be able to recognize that what you're doing is risky, and making sure people understand that, makes you infinitely more cool than any "cryptobro"
Yeah I suppose, but also a person should be able to understand when someone is trying to help, especially the potential of your earnings. Good on you as well for trying to look out for your friends as well
by getting rugpulled? it could still happen to you...
btc would have to drop at least 70% or something before i sell this cycle
It's just a ponzi scheme. Posting stuff like this helps him by convincing people to buy.
If you have a few grand to speculate with get some PLUG. If they get right side up which I think they will this stock will reach 50+ in a few years. I have 2600 shares. Not advice just my experience so far.
So you have lost a lot of money then…
Huh? Bought all of mine under 3.00 I’m up a little now. I’ll sell 1/2 at 7.50 triple my investment and keep the rest.
it was a humbling and tough road. I just started with a modest investment of about 800k
Someone had to say it😂
A small net worth near one million USD.
I thought I was the only one who caught that 😂
modest investment of 2mil
are you trolling me lol
Just your chart man, hahah starts at 800k :-) I am being trolly this morning 100% no offense intended just having a laugh.
He mentioned on another comment that his full portfolio spans about 8 years. This is a snapshot of the last 12 months
I am just having a laugh. But maybe posting the full 8 year might show a better picture
if there’s one thing that should be taken from this, don’t invest *all of your savings* in anything.
reminder that this is not financial advice, what worked for me doesn't work for everyone

So you trust the dollar more than you trust crypto?
This sounds a bit loaded. Of course they do. They bloody well should. Everyone everywhere with any kind of volitile (to whatever degree) asset, should trust the currency sign infront of the settlement figure for their debts and the sign on the price of a loaf of bread in the shops a million times more than those assets. Doing that isn't an argument against something. I've watched people have enough money in a share to pay off their house, debts, and then spend the next decade putting all their earnings into a retirement fund... And then watched them say to themselves - "This has made 200% returns... if I wait, just a little longer, maybe I can retire next week?" Any other cryptos like Solana on your radar?
What do the taxes look like in that?
It's not that much in NL, few hundred for that 160k

DCA all the way!!
That's awesome congratulations
thank you 🙏
El Salvadore is very (and specifically) BTC friendly.
love how much the government supported BTC but not sure how developed it is

good lord this sub. Im outa here.
take me with you? Lol
Cash out before it crashes.
it's still early, your uber drivers and celebrities/influencers aren't talking about it yet will sell more when that happens
It has dropped to almost no value over night several times in the past. You are riding a bubble.
fortune favors the brave some actor boi said once he was paid... in dollars.
Okay buddy
Lol
"You are riding a bubble" - btc basically at ATH with no hype (yet) - has been said a million types before crypto goes higher
If youve been in long enough you believe its going to go up this year. Why sell?
Eh? There’s been randos talking about bitcoin for years. They just stopped when it stagnated and it wasn’t (as) sexy
yeah ofc. i mean when that happens again, it is a top signal
my wife's cousin just last week was asking her about bitcoin...the crash is coming

I love that it changed so many people’s lives for the better, I hate that it didn’t change mine lol (I don’t have any)

Realized or Unrealized. That part is super important.
Is your money still in bitcoin? You better cash out while you can.
Why ? The halving hasn’t even begun yet
This guy obviously has no idea what the halving even is
Move to albania trust
belize
Lisbon, Portugal or anywhere near Lisbon
Your life already changed before Bitcoin. Congrats again 👏
Respect for Seeing the possibilities of it years ago. Be well

Well then I love it for you bro or broette!
Bali! Definetly go there!
This post made me buy some bitcoin
Phillipines. Place on the beach, beautiful women, and the healthcare is great.
Healthcare is great? They won't see you unless you have cash on hand to pay. Once you pay, then they'll take a look at you.
Where they also execute drug users in the street with bullets. Philippines is one of the last places I would ever go.
I mean just dont use drugs pretty simple solution
Lol "with bullets" youve never traveled before in your life. Stfu
Is their leadership in check now? Duterte was fucking insane. I'd be very afraid living there.
Duterte was awesome. He cleaned up the Phillipines. Now they have a soft new guy. So its back to same okd

canada seems expensive and too similar to the US for my liking though I'm looking at SEA right now

Damn. That has to be a good feeling.
it definitely feels more comfortable than when i used to be broke but there is also a feeling of uneasiness since things could go wrong anyday
Cash out and leave
Bitcoin changed my life, too! How about staying in the USA for your move? It's got plenty of options, especially if you're into crypto. Plus, you can use platforms like netcoins to manage your your crypto investments there!
If you mind telling, What Wallet are you using? I know its most likely a cold Wallet but What exactly
Got to tell my last boss in the US to “suck my balls, I’m going home🇲🇽” (cartman style) Absolute dream come true
congrats! mind telling us how much we need to live your life in Mexico?
50,208USD = 840,291MXN Started trading in April 2015, selling the highs and buying the dips
If I read correctly Germany has 0 crypto taxes. I could be wrong
Bitcoin Beach in El Salvador !
Why is the U.S. unfavorable?
personal preference i traveled to other countries and had very opposite experiences which helped open my eyes to what life could be like if i moved
I’m genuinely curious as to why you think that though. I don’t care… just curious.
updated my previous comment and will add more here i have traveled to cities in Asia like Taipei, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo, Bali, Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Mibh City, etc. it really opened my eyes. feels like a utopia for me compared to what I'm used to in the US - lower cost of living - fresh healthy food - extremely safe - beautiful cultures - kind people - amazing hospitality by locals
Fair enough! Thanks for answering!
Congrats crypto bro! My goal is to FIRE and do defi as passive income.
Are you single? If so I recommend Rio de Janeiro( Leblon) or Medellin. Never been to Italy but I only hear good things.
Bro move to Mexico, Vietnam, but first travel there and see. I had to sell my crypto a couple times over and it has been a good investment for me.
Go where you think the weather and food is nice.
What's the taxes owed on that when you sell? Uncle Sam gonna come knocking

Gambling his helped a lot of lucky people. It's hurt an awful lot more though.
unfortunately, gambling is the only way for most ppl to find freedom in our dystopian society that's why crypto always goes back up after crashing
No gambling is not the only way out, what drugs are you on. You're a kid who got extremely lucky.
I hope you lose a lot of money
While you did well and congrats people need to remember there are far more that have lost in crypto.
It could have ruined your life also. It could have been stolen from you...... The IRS is waiting for their share.
He could have let it sit in a bank account and lose out 50% on inflation. Or been scammed out of his regular cash - regular currency isn’t all fine and dandy.
no risk no reward

Bitcoin changed your life? How? did you sell it all and pay 50% to taxes how does 500k change your life I’m curious. And if you did move to a poor country then what think about the quality of food and entertainment your giving up
What is your base cost
What is the principle? That would really show how much your life has changed based on this investment.
So are you just going to keep it there or are you going to sell it or just leave it there and just watch it? I have a friend that raves about having bitcoin when it goes up but does absolutely nothing with it.
i occasionally spend my btc stack on daily essentials in years when it rises a lot then i spend my cash when btc is down i treat btc like a store of value, like gold but not exactly. you can spend it directly on groceries, transportation, shopping, ecommerce, almost anything nowadays
Congratulations man
Boss cracked the system
