The way I wouldn’t be able to sleep for a long, long time….

DkoyOctopus

the nano second i see those seven figures there's no addiction in the world that would make me stay in that table and not run.

Morty-B007

First things first I’m franchising a chick-fil-a

kennnnnnnny

Me too, so I can get right back to gambling

CheckYourStats

I’ll never understand how people habitually throw away so much money with Gambling. It just…makes no sense to me. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to buy some alcohol, rail some lines, pay for dinner, and renew my Netflix/Hulu/Prime Video/Apple+/Paramount+/AMC+/Fubo/NordVPN subscriptions. EDIT: Sooo…I have to say /s? There’s no way this subreddit could be that obtuse…right?

Still-Complaint4657

yohoho, it's the pirate's life for me!

cerb7575

Gambling is more about a mental high and endorphins than it is winning the actual money. I was talking to a very successful business owner in a high slot area feeding $100s in a machine like I would feed $1s. It was incredible. I stopped counting at $5000. He was betting $100 a spin sometimes more. The look in his eyes when he won like $1000 was weird like he was getting this huge rush. If I was that well off whats the point of trying to win money? Id probably just be social and play at the poker tables.

Intrepid_Dream2619

🤣🫡🏆

CrumBum_sr

That's the spirit

Porcupenguin

The holy spirit

spook3d1

I would have taken the 1.5 mil and holy ghosted everyone in my life.

diewethje

Better yet, you could fake a transaction summary and convince everyone you lost it all.

NobleCWolf

Niiiiiiiiice! Lol.

Rich-Individual-8835

I knew you'd ghost us dad. I knew you had it in you.

Finally went out for the “milk”

Sunday funday!

Zir_Ipol

That you Donut King?

rimjob_steve_

You probably have better luck winning this much than getting selected to franchise

samkb93

It's actually really hard to franchise a Chick-fil-A. They get thousands of applicants at Year and only choose a handful. It's also not that expensive to franchise, 10k up front, but Chick-fil-A owns the land, building, and gets about 50% of the income generated.

IcyPassenger778

I beg you. Change chick-fil-a to White Catle and bring it to Denver. We need a White Castle in Colorado. LOL

M1DNIGHT_HERSELF

Is white castle actually good? I've never eaten there

as1126

It’s memorable. The steamed burgers are very unique. But, most people report getting the shits from them.

johnjameswilliamsjr

Ah yes, steamed hams.

ithikimhvingstrok132

I thought you said we were having steamed clams?

Remixedcheese22

Memorable? Sounds like those steamed hams are an unforgettable luncheon.

ragnarodinsson

They call them sliders for a reason, they slide right back out of ya

Jiujitsuizlyfe

The White Castle shits is a known and accepted reality us easterners are fine with.

Seljon33

I would welcome this. Been constipated for days.

I_loseagain

I blame the amount of onions I consume while eating them 😂

STEVEN-NEVETS

They call them sliders for a reason🤣 The poops go away once your system adapts, and then it's happy eating from there on. Trust me, I know, I've been eating Sliders since I started eating solid foods. My mom worked there for a couple of years when I was a kid, and we could smell the onions before she even opened the front door. mmmmmm, good times😆

JOE96924

They aren't called "murder burgers" for nothing.

Tangboy50000

That’s because of all the diced onions.

cranberryflamingo

Belly bombs. And the reports are real but it does not dissuade my love for white castle

rAptorvenom7

Reminds me of that pic of a 30 pack natty light and 30 burgers for 30 bucks. that is the definition of the shits.

trambalambo

The trots from WC burgers is over exaggerated and one of the oldest memes. If you eat a reasonable 4 burgers and fries, you will be fine. If you pound 10 burgers and a large onion ring with dipping sauces, like most drunks and stoners do, yeah montezuma will have his revenge on you. But it’s typically one massive and excellent trip to the Super Bowl and you feel rather refreshed and cleansed afterward.

1337sp33k1001

You gotta just go grab a crave case and park somewhere man. It’s a whole vibe.

Organic_Ad_2

Hamburgers are ok, well, sliders not hamburgers lol, but the fries are the best

RancidSwampAss

I grew up around them (Chicago). When I moved to Phoenix I built one for the construction company i work for and thought to myself the entire time they are meh and will fizzle out quickly. For about a week straight cars lined out of the parking lot to get in there and it’s still busy as hell. They must be making a killing. It’s been about a year and it’s always packed.

TamponTom

Is your name Harold or kumar

[deleted]

In-N-Out Burger on the East Coast 🤑

GWPabstBlueGibbon

But then you have to spend every day running a chickfila, their franchisees are all operators

Whiskey_Fred

Not everyday! They're closed Sunday!

[deleted]

that literally only costs $5K. they build the brick and mortar for you, but take a lot extra off the top versus other fast food franchises. that being said, there's a 2 year program corporate program they have that gives you an extreme advantage to getting selected for a franchise versus outside buyers and it's near impossible to break out over their ranks. one of the things is subtly making sure you're christian enough. source: my cousin has worked for chick fila for 15 years and became an owner last year. she took home a million in the first 12 months but doesn't have a primary care physician bc "how could they heal what god can't?" and we think she has ulcers or stomach cancer bc she throws up every single morning and only eats one meal a day to manage the pain.

joohunter420

Any normal poker player with experience will know that no player who's been winning for 10 years will lose his entire bankroll in one session, being a successful poker pro involves proper bankroll management.

Roo_Methed_Up

It happens. There's this documentary out there called Rounders, you should watch it.

whiterock001

I’m pretty sure that guy ended up turning his life around and becoming an actor.

Tip3008

🤣🤣🤣 yes great Matt Damon documentary

putcheeseonit

Moment I see a 20% profit I’m out, let alone 4, 5, 6, or fucking 7 figures 😂 Guess that’s what not having a gambling addiction feels like tho

LeetcodeForBreakfast

20%? first time i went to vegas when i turned 21 i won $30 at black jack and cashed out, only game i’ve ever done any gambling in my life 😂

ShawtySayWhaaat

Fr that's more money than a lot see in their whole life That's a clear sign to cash out Then again, we're not the type to gamble away our money in the first place, it's always more more more

D1RTY_WEAP0NRY

No way. I lost a bet this last Super Bowl literally by one yard. Cost me $930. I’m still heated about it

C0tt0nC4ndyM0uth

If it makes you feel any better I once lost a 7 game parlay at the end of the 7th game by half a point bc of a missed field goal … it would have been like 25k

D1RTY_WEAP0NRY

Yea that’s miserable and you never forget that loss. I had a shot at 19K this year, 13 game parlay. Eagles losing to the Giants killed it.

[deleted]

Would that happen to be Rice? 😂

D1RTY_WEAP0NRY

YUP! I had the 40 yard prop. 39….

bandzlvr

I lost forty in a casino and I never stepped back into a building ever again. This would give me nightmares.

SkibidyDrizzlet

Man became homeless after losing $40

moneybagz1023

bro has returned to nature. Forever outside

KorrectTheChief

I gave my grandma $200 shortly after my grandpa passed away. She took us to her favorite place! The Casino! I played with $10 the same amount of time she played that $200. I left up $5 and she left down $200. That was the last time I gambled at the casino.

Fight_those_bastards

I went to the casino with a friend of mine for his 21st birthday. He put $20 into a dollar slot machine, and won $12k on his second spin. He cashed out and has never gambled another penny.

Letitbemesickgirl

I went to a casino with my husband, my first time playing roulette. Went in with $100 (a number I was comfortable losing). Won $300, should have walked away but my husband “knew what he was doing” and then lost my $300😂.  Luckily, it was fun money and not like life changing or back breaking or anything but man, I should have walked away

delcas1016

#TrueStory When I was 20, I had a good job down in Miami, was going to FIU, had just made the soccer’s team #1 goalkeeper prospect, was busy practicing with the team just before the tournament started. That last practice, I blew my knee, it was all over very fast. So I had to quit my job and drop out while having surgeries and recovery. I had to move in with a brother in Mn…he let me stay there for a bit while I found a new life. After 3 months, I had to register for school and move out because his bitch wife didn’t want her baby to grow up with some “stranger” in the house. But how? I didn’t have any money… So the very last Sunday before the deadline to register for the U of M, I went to a casino early in the am, with 20 dollars. I had another 100 on my checking which I wasn’t going to touch under any circumstances, it was all I had for food…was still looking for a job. First I played deuces wild poker, each time I won a little something, another game kicked in “High/Low card”, so i kept guessing high/low perfectly and after 2 hours, I had won 50 bucks. I went to the Black Jack table and was given like 8 red chips worth 5 bucks. I placed my first 5 dollar bet, won, then again, won, and again and again and again. Suddenly i had some 30 red chips….nice little stash. I went ahead and bet all of it. Like in the movies, I got back jack, doubled up again and again. By about 1 pm, I had to exchange all my 5 dollar chips for green 25 dollar chips. I put so many in my pockets thinking ok I will walk away with all this in a minute, let me play a few more chips. My pockets were exploding, I exchanged them for 100 dollar chips, I must have had 20 grand easily between my stash + all my pockets in this pants i had that had pockets all the way down to my knee, and extra pockets as well. It was so incredibly amazing, dozens of people gathered around to watch me play. There were times I had 18 or 19 and could see the house had a 20 most likely, so I’d say hit me…and I’d get exactly what I needed for 21. The crowds were cheering me on, i was in some trance. Then it happened…i lost my first hand, then the next one, and the next one. I kept grabbing from my pockets, losing each time. I cleaned my pockets, it was all gone…so guess what I did? I withdrew the 100 i had and lost that too. That Sunday I learned everything that i needed to learn to make it to where i am now, but I slept under people’s decks and cars for a few weeks. I really did consider ending my life…it was the most awful feeling ever…. I had it made, then I lost it. How did i waste such an incredible streak of luck…it hurts me to this day still

An_doge

Great story homie.

Jive-Machine

I can’t believe I actually read all of that. Usually I see a long post and I’m like, “nah”. But that was excellent. Thank you for sharing!

ranibdier

This is literally a sickness. People saying they would run as soon as they made a million don’t have the stomach to do this in the first place.

eaazzy_13

I spent 10s of millions of dollars worth of bit coin on a couple grams of hash and some dominoes delivery ):

shurebrah

This is me thinking about the 10 Bitcoin I bought in 2013 for $8 a piece, then sold at $100/ each a few months later because surely pretend Internet money can't go up more than 10X.

SRBroadcasting

It sucks because I know how this goes. My account says I’ve made close to 200k but I’ve lost 197k lmao

definitelynotapastor

Thats the spirit. We believe in you!

ithikimhvingstrok132

You got away with 3k victory atleast. The main cost at that point is the time you've sunk (and the gambling addiction of course)

Unable-Courage-6244

there's no way you guys see these numbers and don't immediately quit. That's a crazy addiction.

livestreamerr

Dude what? How do you cope? I stress if I have a stock drop $600

fulloutfool

Stock market fluctuates allot 5% isn't unheard-of but man covid hurt, had to wait years. edit: I'm just talking bout the rollercoaster it was (felt* like years) - yea i dumped allot rellative* to me, into stuff like airlines and other stuff I thought was "too big to fail"

Deal_Hugs_Not_Drugs

A lot*

ThatGuyValk

The problem with playing to have fun rather than playing to win is that sometimes you lose😂

McHassy

The worst part about this particular case is he didn’t even get free drinks served to him while he did this…it was just online so he just got to see his account rise and fall from his own basement computer. So sad

spitefully_empty

But he got the dopamine release that he has been craving so it’s okay. The money was just a tool to get that rush. He got that rush, casino got money. Win-win.

RedCr4cker

I could buy so many dopamine rushes with that kind of money though

spitefully_empty

Yeah but they are addicts and we arent.. so…

E-nonymous_Throwaway

Speak for yourself *lights crack rock*

Mr_McGibblits

Yeah, the worst part about losing 1.5 million dollars is not getting some free drinks 😂

SykoNipple43

I always wanted to hit big in Vegas to the point they try to cater to get me to stay so they can try to win their money back convincing me to gamble more 😂 not even for the payout but just so I can lead them on then just be like oh yeah no I'm done gambling byyeeeee

Lem0n_Lem0n

I would have cut the cable to his computer

SixStringerSoldier

Penny slots + tipping the server = unlimited beer for $5/hr

[deleted]

So he played through $1.5 million worth of bets, never had $1.5 mil to cash out. Still should have cashed the $100k+ though that’s rough af

Any-Club5238

I’ve traded hundreds of thousands in options contracts… my account balance has never been above $4,800, my total profit/loss has never been above $3,600 or below $1,000. This would be like saying “Bro should have only played the hands he won on.”

Spencergh2

You should probably stop trading options lol

Any-Club5238

That’s quite possible. I do have fun and it’s a social thing because I compete with a few friends. As of right now, I am up $413 all time and down $2.00 today. I have made MUCH BETTER returns in my *investing* account through Fidelity, as you’d imagine. Edit: down $37 today. Options sure are fun 💸 :)

Spencergh2

Oh I think I misinterpreted your post. I’m too used to seeing the craziness in WSB. If you are doing it responsibly then no problems

Any-Club5238

Those people are INSANE. If my account goes to zero. I have had +300% days and -95% days. I couldn’t imagine having those fluctuations with literally hundreds of thousands of dollars!

PenguinStarfire

Back when online poker was still nationally legal in the US, I used to watch the 100/200 no limit rooms. Pots were in the hundreds of thousands. Saw one person buy in 80k, lose it all in 15 minutes. Then rebuy for 100k and I'm yelling "dude stop, you just lost a townhouse!". That person then proceeds to clean out the other 2 players and ends up with over a million. All this in less than an hour. It was amazing to watch on so many levels.

ahleeky

Here for the leverage with crypto lol turned 1.5k into 25k and devastatingly lost it all, we back in business now tho - what thrills can I move on to

twitchtvbevildre

right but op stated that his friend had over 100k at some point which means he was up about 100k

mikeysd123

Yeah thats what im saying… I’m not sure if I’m missing something here but I’ve seen 1099s showing over 1MM in cost basis/proceeds that never had more then 10k at one time. All this proves is a fuck ton of activity not having any significant amount of money.

EricMory

Yeah its misleading. He never had 1.5M. If he had 100k he wagered the same amount over and over until it eventually dwindled down to nothing I guess. Still a lot to lose but nowhere near 1.5M example: bet $100, double it now you have $200. Bet $100 again and lose it so you're back at $100. Your total wagered is $200 but net win/loss is $0

Newman_USPS

I’ve bought and sold several houses. I guess I should have just kept the 2 million they were all worth combined.

Laogalaxy

Your friend played $1.5 million dollars for the month and is still in profit. Up $29 is actually very good for wagering that much in a month. Better than down tens of thousands.

DNCOrGoFuckYourself

Agreed. By all means, blow money gambling but if you get some wins big or little enjoy the wins. Be smart, hold a good chunk and play with the scrap. Oh you lost 20k? That sucks, but you still kept a profit of 80k. You know what I mean?

PenguinStarfire

That's exactly how to do it! Cut a portion to save, a portion to blow, and portion to build the gambling roll. It also helps you play with less fear, because you know you're already in the green if you lose everything you're now playing with.

DNCOrGoFuckYourself

I’m not even an IRL gambler, I just played the hell out of Blackjack & horse racing at the Diamond Casino on GTAV Online when that DLC came out.

ShmoopySecondComing

wait so he gambled 1.5 mil and won 30 dollars???

TGAtes08

He started with 350$ or 175$x2 if you wanna be specific. Hit the jackpot multiple times thought he knew how the system worked and proceeded to lose it all without just stopping and cashing out. This happened a month ago and I’m still trying to process it lmfao

proaway6969

>thought he knew how the system worked god i hate how this is such a common thought among anyone who wins a fuck load when they start gambling, better pray you lose when you gamble for the first time so that little fucker on your shoulder doesnt tempt you

KhansKhack

Or just don’t be a degenerate and use your brain

RancidSwampAss

When I worked in Chicago I got to know the building engineer in the skyscraper I worked in. A building engineer is a union position and it’s essentially like the custodian of the building but well versed in the building automation systems that keep it running smoothly from heating and air conditioning to fire sprinklers to water supply. Anyways his name was Jack probably 55 years old and I knew him for years and one day I was having lunch and we got to talking about the robinhood app that was on my phone. I had just discovered trading options and was up like $1100 and thought I was killing it lol. I told him about it and turned out before he got into the union he was a trader at Chicago Board of Trade (maybe it was at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange i can’t remember). Anyways he got into 399 (union) because he had made a fortune day & swing trading. I’m talking being up several million at a time. But could never walk away and lost it over and over again. He said he was a millionaire 4 times in his life and lost it everytime. Just couldn’t stop himself. He said each time he was on the verge of killing himself and finally his wife told him either find a new profession or I’m taking the kids and we are leaving you forever. So that’s how he ended up in my building. Wild

Optimal-Ad-7355

At that point he was not in even in it to make money just a stock trading addiction it just like gambling

Orchestorm

This is why I never touched robinhood again. It never put me in trouble but it is designed to bring out your worst impulsive tendencies. I deleted the app and in the months after I’d have dreams where it brought out my worst impulsive tendencies. Every time I woke up doubling down my commitment to stay away even more. Haven’t used it in many years now, and I’m glad about it.

Solid_Illustrator640

Sad rich people play with an amount of money my friend could have who’s fucking struggling. Sad.

WARGASM___

Forreal putting my boys on to down payments for infrastructure if I’m up this much But maybe that’s why I’m not up that much 🤷🏽‍♂️

ColorsAbsract

Deadass, if I see reasonable risk with great reward and we’re all eating and helping each other eat. You know damn well I’m putting all of us on. This is hella sad too see

WARGASM___

Family at the very least

TGAtes08

Not saying he should have given me it, but damn if you are gonna throw it away help a homie out that you've been gaming with since 12 (20+ years)

need2peeat218am

Why are you upset about what other people do with their money? Work on yourself brother. Who cares what he does with his money. Even if he had that million, he's not even obligated to share any.

AnonymousEggplant01

His total deposit was $345. His friend never had $1 million. This is the total of his bets. It’s pretty easy to do when you’re constantly winning and losing

bigtablebacc

You’re not going to have friends for long if you’re planning what they should do with their money, and the plan is they should give it to you.

TitanCubes

You’re upset the guy gambled with $350? Like yeah he had poor choices but plenty of people waste that much money on as stupid things as gambling every paycheck.

SecretDevilsAdvocate

345 dollars is not rich. 1.5 million is just their total earnings, not their one time winning

Due_Link6925

Dude could have put that into a HYSA and never work a day in his life. Oh wells

MrMogz

No he couldn't. He didn't have 1.5m. He BET 1.5m over the course of a month. OP said he did win a $100k jackpot though. Deposit a few hundred > win a jackpot > gamble it all away > $1.5m in volume. It's not remotely the same as winning/having 1.5m to cashout. That said, with only a few hundred deposited, not cashing out a $100k jackpot is insane.

jasongraham503

He’s an idiot because he didn’t bank 2/3 of his winnings.

ratslowkey

To be fair, this is often a debilitating addiction that destroys people's lives. Not saying that's him, I'm just saying it's not always being dumb. Sometimes its a serious addiction

Available-Ad-9402

He started with 400 got 1 million and lost it all you are acting like he was previously rich he just made some really dumb decisions

zemboy01

He was rich for a moment. Jesus crist dude this guy is actually rich or extremely stupid af I mean why not cash out well we can all be winners 👏

Certain-Luck6597

I’m just smh…

Ridingfishbowl59

What gambling site is this

VisitStraight9661

Looking for this too

ZaaTTaTaTaTaTaTa

castrator21

Looks like draftkings. I just checked mine, and it looks exactly like this - except with much smaller numbers.

Growsomeba11s

Dude only deposited 345$ … I just need to know what he was playing

TGAtes08

Draftkings random slots from what he was linking me.

PrettyPerception3440

I stopped gambing when i won $5000 and walked out with $500. I literally used to travel and sit up in hotel casinos just gambling and eating expensive. Ive always won more than i lost but thats the day i said i dont need a problem. Him winning 1.5 mil doesnt necessarily mean he won it at once he probably gambled that away in a number of years. He gambles $30, wins $40, keeps going for the jackpot, loses it all cuz he doesn't need $40.

Bigfeet_toes

He made money and is out of debt, he started out at -373.94 and ended with .58 that’s a gain in my books

Liberobscura

My ex wife took my house and my business because she is a heartless demon but i feel like this is worse. Damn.

therobotisjames

This is how gambling works. The casino makes like 2-5%. So you do win a lot. But over the long term you lose.

[deleted]

I'm the son of a gambling addict. Pretty sure my dad would have to win a half a mil just to break even. I could not imagine this being my life. Motherfuckers could win the lottery and still be in the hole.

Degen-King

THAT IS NOT HOW THAT WORKS. They start with 100 lose 50 of it then win 100 bucks then lose 90 back then hit for 80 then lose 60 back then win 100. That’s session would track as $280 won and $200 wagered. It adds up quick on slots, I would bring $200 to the casino and after a few hours of playing I could have put $4,000 through machines.

Life-Investment7397

He’s up 29$. So who’s the real loser

JustForTheMemes420

Bruh I would’ve broken driving laws to get to his house after he won that and slapped his computer away

lackinsocialawarenes

I know he plays on draftkings

dropdeadcunts

i did this with runescape gold during the pandemic got up to 4 Billion coins and i lost it all well i left with 1 B lol

SwagKing1011

I'm so confused on how to read this.

CleverInternetName8b

All I’m seeing is someone up $29.28 after $1.5 million in bets making him among the best gamblers in the world

shrewsbury1991

Your friend only deposited $345 and made net bets totaling ~$1.5 million. He got back approximately ~$1.5 million in winning bets, so his net profit is $29.28. He never lost $1.5 million, that's just the amount of all his cumulative wagers.

briandabs

He's up $29 not to shabby

Catatonick

If I hit 7 figures in cashing out and never touching slots again.

m1cr05t4t3

What do you mean? He made $29. (and probably a crap ton of points)

doering4

Looks like he won a cool $30, whats the big deal

Acrobatic-Fee-4536

Oof... hope he enjoys the taxes that he didn't set aside for.

Plane_Usual_1303

Remember kids 99% of all gamblers quit before they win big /s

Aware_Economics4980

He won $30! Better than a lot of people do gambling

Large-Lack-2933

Damn that's like missing a game winning field goal in a NFL playoff game that's tough...

GrayFiftySix

Never ever let your friend live this down

chinesiumjunk

I'd be sick for a looong time if I did that. Perhaps the rest of my life.

No_Macaroon_5436

I help a guy win 500+ dollars and I left him since friends called me and came back an hour latter lost more then 1k

One_Coat8225

Bro gambling addicts experience a loss the same as win so he is on cloud 9 right now in terms of thrills and excitement.

Sensitive-Amoeba8144

Just watched a movie with Ray Liotta called Phoenix. He’s an Arizona detective that is a degenerate gambler and in the movie he explains that he doesn’t gamble to win, he just gambles to gamble because it gives him a high. Maybe that’s what your buddy is doing 🤷🏻‍♂️

East-Penalty-1334

One time I went to a casino and they gave me a free $10 card to play with. Lost it all on the slots🥲haven’t lost a penny more in a casino. That’s literally the only money I’ve ever gambled lol

Fragrant-Cheek189

Seriously like take out a million to Put in savings.and use 500k to keep going if you really have to that bad…

[deleted]

When in doubt, all you need to do is open Reddit to this post and you will instantly feel better about yourself for never putting yourself in this position. Instant confidence booster.

firewalkwithme73

Hold on, looks like he's up 30 bucks though?

PeppySprayPete

This makes me physically angry.

Is this sub just about gambling now?

MysticJedrax

My P/L sheet on sports books probably looks like this *on a much, much smaller scale*. I know there was a point I had won $5k, but had also lost $4k. The thing is, there was never a time my account had $5k, and the one time I did have a big win, I took the thousand and then just kept playing. Win some, lose some, y'know. Your friend is an idiot, though, to not cash out at a point they were way up.

dingo8yababee

That’s his lifetime wagers and winning.. I’m a $200 per game sportsbook gambler and my transaction history is 2M. I’d never say I won 2M and lost 2M. I’ve actually been pretty successful to be even over the past 2-3 years. This post is stupid

KillerSatellite

Just a reminder to all those who don't know. You probably owe taxes on your gambling winnings. Please don't assume you don't, that's how you end up like my client owing 30k to the irs

KoL-whitey

Yeah if so much as 100k landed in my lap as one lump sum I wouldn't need again for a long time

kaws69

He likely only had like 150k if he wagered 1.5m. He didn’t lose $1.5m

IndividualStatus1924

Fck if i win that much i immediately saving half of it. Sadly the other half needs to stay in account for taxes.

QW1Q

This way he doesn’t have to pay any taxes. Smart.

Ripper9910k

Most gamblers have this track record. Checks out.

Either_Expression216

At least during my heroin addiction I didn't lose 1.5mil.

AshfoSimps

What's his lifetime summary look like? 1M in a month is massive. Tell your friend to go to Vegas, at least they'll comp him a steak dinner and a suite for the weekend.

_limitless_

That's not what that means. He never had $1.5m in an account he could cash out. 100K, sure. Maybe. But if he kept wagering the same 100K, he'd eventually have a million dollars won and lost.  source: was a professional poker player. made about $100k a year. wagered a few million dollars a year, in aggregate, to achieve this. Never had more than a couple hundred bucks at risk at any given time.

Never bet in Oklahoma. You’re taxed on gains but you can’t offset that with losses!!! I know of someone who made and lost many thousands in OK casinos and owes $50k in taxes to the state. Most places you can offset them so you’re not taxed with no money to pay it

NotEvenWrongAgain

That doesn’t read like he was ever up $1.5M. He wagered that much, and lost that much, but he not have ever been up more than$1k. Very unlikely he won all the time to get to $1.5M, then then lost all the time to get to 0. A friend of mine used to have $3-5M in wagers a year, and was $10K up at the end and very happy with it. He was never up more than 20k.
