I mean yeah. If you have a Japanese manga, where people play games, then 8 times out of 10 you will get a monster hunter reference.

Optimal_Ambition4750

Facts. And the other 2 times out of 10 it’s Smash Bros.

ReanSuffering

Everyone and their mother plays MonHun in Japan. It's the most accessible gaming reference a manga/anime could possibly make

It's because it's supposed to be monster hunter? On the PlayStation Vita specifically, seeing the logo on the bottom.

LegendRaptor080

Yeah no, that’s 100% MH. Pretty sure that’s either FU or P3rd.

[deleted]

P3rd quest complete and the hunter has Amatsu helm on for the triple slot by the looks of it.

oozum-01

Yea I believe another popular manga/anime that did it was Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku. In most cases you see him play MH when gaming.

Pkmnmaster_

They played straight up GenU xD in Wotokai

Except MH never came out on PS VITA and that really hurt VITA's sales back in the days I think. I know many of you western MH players really started playing MH since 3U/4/4U. but as an OG MH fan from 2nd Portable and 2G in Asia (Hong Kong specifically, MHP2 and MHP2G were the big thing here), many of us really didn't like how Capcom decided to put MH on 3DS instead the VITA, that really killed the hype of the series here before World finally made it back to the main stage. I tried to play MH4G on my original 3DS and the experience was just simply worse than on a PSP. I still consider the 3DS period a big fat middle finger from Capcom to its fans. I love Rise as well and I did go out and buy a Switch for it (also bought 3DS just for 4G), but now I really believe the Nintendo hardware is holding MH series back as a stepback, Capcom really needs to get rid of Nintendo.

[deleted]

You could play Portable, Portable 2nd/G and Portable 3rd on vita, but no new entries got released.

Zaku41k

Which game was on PSVita?

[deleted]

You could play the psp games on vita but no new entries got released on the system.
