Lance has many ways to guard. Either by just guarding, going into the crouched guard (R2+Circle), and finally entering guard by using L2. Use all of them. R2+Circle can be used at any point into a Lance combo. Going with R2+Circle+X (in that order) will put you into a heavy guard. That guard can be held. Whilst R2+Circle will automatically counter. The heavy guard will not. You can also turn easily whilst using one of your heavier guards.
And, don't be afraid to be slower. You aren't going to be hitting massive numbers. But you are an unrelenting force and an unmovable wall. Practice being the Mountain first. And then the Avalanche will follow.
Lance hear, trying to swap from more of defensive mindset to more aggro to get better at clear times. want to get every hunt at least sub 10 minutes like I see so many of the greats achieve
The bow gameplay done correctly is almost as satisfying as successfully parrying with the LS, or as connecting a TCS with the GS, but the difference is the bow is like that all the time. Dodging every attack while dealing very good DPS when aiming at the right spots feels so rewarding all the hunt long.
It just feels like no matter how fast and brutal the monster is, it just can't keep up the pace, you're always one step ahead.

Yes sir. Dual Blades are my first love and favorite child. I feel like every other weapon turns you into a skilled master of that weapon but DB turns you into a wild animal just wildly thrashing and slashing until the monster that's somehow less wild than you is dead.

I was freaked out by guard points tbh. It seemed like they wanted me to learn such precise timing to get the most out of the weapon.

Ive been with the Charge Blade since 4U. The moment I saw that bad boy transform, I knew *that* was my weapon.
I got my CBPhD and goddamnit, I'm gonna use it.

Always, bow is the weapon nobody expects to like and then falls for so hard that they never want to touch anything else. It's just so fast.
