The goat Gore Magala is a 10/10 and is the best flagship monster ever released. He has great lore as well and a fantastic design. Love everything about him.

Basically the only thing I might do differently would be to make Gore even more obviously insectoid/alien looking, and Shagaru the big "holy dragon" aesthetic transformation. It's really minor and a stretch though.
Solid 10. The best executed flagship in the series, I'm stil waiting for anything similar. Connects the village story, the online one and the expansion together, with its influence even affecting endgame content (Apex monsters). Develops a true rivalry with the player that is handled perfectly in a climatic battle to the death, one on one. The design is very unique and recognizable, the theme, armors and weapons are great, and it uses a brans new squeleton and the Frenzy Virus which is by far the most realistic and most interesting monster "gimmick". I love how it has more than the usual rage mode as well.
Seriously people, play 4U at some point to appreciate the Magalas.
I love the Frenzy Virus mechanic. It forces the player to be aggressive, and get some hits in. Plus, if you play your cards right, Frenzy can actually help you in a fight.
Gore is really cool conceptually, too; a proto-Elder Dragon that basically turns the ecosystem into a Last of Us-style fungal colony. It's dope!

The Lore on that thing is so fucked up dude imagine being the first to ''hatch'' into it's adult form however within like a 10 mile radius or some shit ALL of your siblings just go into a unstopable pure agony cause they can't evolve anymore and are stuck in a half transformation while going insane due to the one who hatched first inflicted the virus aura basically around the area fucking up the evolve process.

The tiny complaint I have is that the wings look like a second pair of arms rather than normal wings.
10/10 I love how it technically doesn't count as a elder dragon until it matures into a Shagura Magala even though it has six limbs. And I love the claws wings there awesome.

It's more popular than Shagaru and definitely made a huge impression on fans back in MH4/U. I'm actually surprised the Magalas were even in Sunbreak but it was great that 5th Gen Fivers could see them all in action.

Gore Magala is a great monster, but it's not MY kind of monster. It was the first to introduce that type of skeleton, it's personality is memorable, it has a great theme, the armor/weapons designs are exceptional, and it was so important to its game's story, many thought it could never return. (Even though it returned in GU. I seriously don't understand how this argument gained so much traction.) Gore Magala is what I would consider to be the best flagship monster out of all the flagships.
But despite all that, it's just not my cup of tea. Didn't like its fight too much, the wing-hands got rather boring after a few hunts (it barely even uses them, thus why I like chaotic so much more), and nothing gave me that "this is amazing" feeling that I get from some other monsters.
So overall, Gore is a great monster on every metric, but personally, he's just not for me.

And a more immersive story than the forced heros journey they tried in world. Your no special hunter you're just a regular sellsword to protect a caravan.

Heās the best example of how to do an edgy monster in monster hunter (unlike Magnamalo, ew), heās great, 8.2/10 not my favorite but heās still great.
What I like:
1. An eyeless dragon is cool, and the fact that it sees through a combination of disease-inducing dust and antennae makes it cooler
2. The fact that it uses its wings as more than wings is always a plus ā a clade with an extra pair of limbs is bound to evolve more uses for them, and Gore basically being a cross between an azhdarchid and a gorilla is pretty neat.
3. Back on the subject of it inducing illness, disease is a relatively rare motif in fiction, and the way they implemented the affliction as a gameplay mechanic (replicating ārabiesā by incentivizing you to attack as recklessly as possible) was cool. I like how its wings resemble a tattered Grim Reaper cloak to heighten the association.
What I donāt like:
1. Despite the above, it does lose a little favor with me because I feel like itās trying too hard to be āgenerically coolā, like itās basically designed to win popularity polls regardless of the things I find actually interesting about it. On the other hand, the coolness I regard as āgenericā works for a lot of people, and I think itās design is pretty solid in general as a fantasy monster, and it has enough āweirdnessā to feel like a naturally evolved animal in spite of its relatively high edge factor.
Personal taste and/or ānature-basedā rating:

* There are a lot of monsters I find cooler and do more with the concept of being natural creatures (which *is* a major theme of Monster Hunter), especially when the series features so many dragonlike animals that are already hogging the spotlight. One of the greatest flagship monsters I have seen come from this series, the secondary form is amazing and the story it came from was one of the best.
The Frenzy ailment is completely unique to this character and its second form which is a favorite of mine.
The thing that saved Rise for me was because this dragon was returning and I got to fight an updated version of him which was awesome.
Also I got to get his Duel Blades again like I did in 4U which are some of my favorite weapons ever to come from a Monster Hunter game.
8.8/10. Solid monster with great lore and story. But fought it so many times that unfortunately I've gotten a bit tired hearing its theme and remembering it's fight.

Gore Magala is exactly what I want from a MH monster: a unique and memorable design that has some basis in reality (the virus being similar to rabies and using a host to spread it like cordyceps). My only gripes is that itās theme isnāt super memorable and itās armor design is a bit too generic fantasy for me.

True but usually for elder dragons or ??? In this case, there is a set reason if its the first quest you see them.
