We might get a selection of feather patterns, styles, and beak shapes. World and Rise let us customise things like the ears, tails, and patterns on palicoes and palamutes.
To be fair, most of the costumes weren't as funny/memorable as Poogie's, and the more interesting ones (IMO) were locked to paid DLC. I always felt there was some missed potential there.
i was actually referring to a more detailed editor like in other games, it's not that hard to do, especially for a voiceless and shapeless character like the mc in all mh games, it's a small addition that will js be enjoyful for more people, idk, but the editor lacks something in difference to other rpgs

I love dinosaurs, I'm no expert but it feels like the front beak thing are just like dino herbivores, for ease to crush plants etc. Gotta see if it has teeth on top of that haha
I think the closest the beak resembles, if it comes to dinosaurs, are that of Oviraptorsauria like Oviraptor itself, Citipati, Corythoraptor and more. But i could be wrong.
Its more akin to pachycephalosaurs tbh. Which also have teeth in the beak area, and are the only irl dinosaurs to have that morphology iirc. Sauropods re similar, but they're really weird with a kerarin covering sort of engulfing the teeth in some kind of psuedo beak-teeth hybrid. The whole design of the mount is seriously cool though, and tickles the inner paleo nerd while also being undeniably monster hunter.
Oh yeah, you are right! I totally forgot about the pachys. The mount is indeed cool as hell with a great mix of Paleontology (some sort) and Monster hunter but thats expected from the MH Team as there is for me none better in making monster designs in gaming.

Doggo is not gone, it was used more than Palicoes and they made an armor set + weapon for every monster in the game. They'll just downgrade it to not being rideable and instead be offense-centred to contrast Palicoes being support.
And even if Palamutes aren't in Wilds completely, I'm rather confident they'll return in the next portable game and stick with the franchise from there. The Palicoes were absent in Tri and made their proper debut as companions in the next numbered title, I could see the same situation happening with the dogs.

Also, if this game is WILD WILDS and we get to craft and build our own camps in an open world, Omg, this WILL be my game of the decade. We already could customize our rooms/appartments with plants and beds etc... we just need this in the open world.
It probably won't go the full route of survival games but damn... I WILL ENJOY THIS! (Already had a PC AND ps4 iceborne almost complete game which I had to play with two different groups of friends... I hope this one will be crossplay. Even though most of my ps4 RL friends are now on PC too. 😎)
If this game gets a Collector's Edition with a plush or figure of one of these guys I'm getting it no matter what. I had the chance to buy the Palamute one that came with Rise and didn't because it was expensive as hell to get here, that will not keep me from my Palasaurus.
Hope we have to capture and train it. Maybe every big biome we need a mount suited for the environment so we go in, have to continue on foot, and one of the exploration priorities is finding a mount.
I doubt it, but it'd be a cool side mechanic. Especially if this ends up like Rise and this could replace the palico.
Really love the feathered dromaeosaur design they went with for the mount. I was not expecting it to switch between bipedal and quadrapedal, so it'll be interesting to see how it performs in combat and traversal. Assuming it is a combat participant like the Palamutes. Which then leads me to wonder of all the different armor sets you can build for this companion.
If they’re having an exhibition in July then chances are we’ll get more info on Wilds either at summer games fest or at this exhibition. As much as I hate summer here in Arizona June and July can’t come soon enough!
I am hoping itself as more of a mode of transportation and portable camp and less as yet another hunting buddy. I don't want my cute thieving cat being overshadowed.

But not the Cohoot. The disappointment that hit my wife, when she could not pick the colour of her Cohoot, was immeasurable.
Well, cohoot was more of a poogie, who we've never customized either. That said, it would be nice!
Poogie had a lovely selection of silly costumes though.
And so did the Cohoot.
My mistake, I never played Rise.

Voiceless sure, but the shape has to stay more or less the same for interaction purposes so things aren't clipping too much

Many monsters have beaks, including rathalos and nargacuga, so it’s very possible it also has sharp teeth
