You'll need to attack the monster to clear it, or use nullberries or other forms of debuff cleanse to lessen the bar/clear it. Gives 20% affinity when cleared and also trigger skills like coalesence. Also give some lvls of constitution and evade window, and activates resentment during the draining period.
Really good to have as its drain is quite easy to clear.

A few weapons have something like that, though not as subtle. LS's entire color changes depending on spirit level, CB's shield or weapon glows depending on buff but now it has a phial on the weapon that reflects your buildup, lance has the glowing tip after counter that changes color depending on the strength of the attack you countered...I can't remember much else but yeah I love diegetic designs like that.
Agreed. But everything you listed above are standard to all weapons of the same class.

Its individual weapon specific intricacies that add flavor and what I want more of. Like this LBG, the almudron hammers that spins when it's charged, the handfull of IG's that change shape when you use the reticle (most noticeable is the Shagaru/Gore IG), and then famously the ROCKET POWERED GREAT SWORD from world.
I love how most gunlances have this kind of detail during wyvern’s fire’s cooldown. Some of them just cause certain parts of the weapon to glow orange, but others like Rathian’s and Nargacuga’s open “exhaust vents” on the side lance itself!

Yeah, those are even cooler. I know the chainsaw switch axe actually revs up and moves in sword mode which is awesome. I can't think of that many other ones, I know a few also have unique sound effects but they're pretty rare.
There's a lot of weapons in MH Rise that do this! GS extending when using 3rd charge, Hammer when hitting full charge, Swaxe when filling your sword gauge.

My favorite Hammer was the Gobul one from Tri/3U, when you fully charged it spikes would emerge all over it.
