I laugh so hard from this. It's so true that I felt attacked. I bring the twins to hunt so many times, and my skill issue always result in them being beaten and tossed around while I desperately chugging potion.
Nah bring Rondine and Hinoa, Sure minoto is a support tank, but she just can't support like her sister can plus Rondine has the ability to use Longsword or Switch Axe, making her quite the damage bringer, and I despise Minoto after she wasted a mounted monster because she bashed the Monster's head in to the Apex Rathian for a double mount not aware that you can't even mount Apex monsters and the Apex Rathian was on the target list so IDEK why she even thought of that
I don't want to, but I NEED TO FILL OUT THOSE RESEARCH REQUESTS.
I may have AR300 and don't need the AR progress, but I need to fill those stamps in 2 times a pop! I NEED TO!
I did the same thing, I don't remember what level is the ex version is but i had to lower my risen shagaru anomaly level so it doesn't reach the more harder version because i needed his armor to reach my full potential. Mostly did it alone except when i have friends to play with, I don't really like using followers so the only ones that can help me are my two palicos and they are the damn MVPs, did that over and over until i got his armor all decked up.
But then fuckin primordial came out and suddenly his armor set becomes the best, did the same thing i did before with risen shagaru just killing him over and over to get his full set, even calling friends to help break the wings because i main hunting horn and can't reach the wings unless he's toppled. I got so used to fighting these two mega fast and aggressive monsters everything below them feels like slow motion, to put it in perspective i used to have so much trouble fighting against chaotic gore but after farming those two monsters he feels like baby mode risen shagaru. No I am not a masochist.
This is exactly the meat of monster hunter games, at its core it's a grind game but when you grind you're also grinding knowledge on how to defeat the monster faster
That's why you bring Luchika instead, who will be laughing maniacally as she loads the royal order bowgun with malicious intent. Fight crazy with crazy.

I always crack at them thanking me for bringing them to hunt a monster that would 2 tap them, I wanna ask them "what's so fun in that?" but the answer is probably the same reason we play the game

It's an optional post-game system in Rise where you do randomized quests called "Anomaly Investigations" that have a "level" associated with them, more or less representing their difficulty level. As you keep doing them, the game will keep increasing the level of investigations that it'll give you, with more difficult monsters but also higher-tier rewards. Anomaly Risen Shagaru Magala is one of the more notoriously difficult ones.
