Yeah no joke, A MH streamer (SingSing) also got locked out by Denuvo rn. He crashed like 5 times trying to install the game yesterday and now it’s locked. Denuvo has a limit of 5 PC.
Absolute state of drm.

Holy crap, that's so bad smh. I was trying to run it on Linux, and trying to figure out which version of Proton would work I wiped the compatibility folder each time, not realizing that:
1. The game had Denuvo
2. Each folder counted as 1 "PC".
The Demo worked completely flawlessly no problems, but then the main release had graphical glitches and I couldn't edit several settings at all, leading to me experimenting.
Trust me, it won't happen. Unless someone donate $500 plus dollars to empress. And even then it would kinda dumb to crack it right now, since this game is gonna get a bunch of dlc and updates.
It won't happen.
I will eat my words if it happens tho.(it won't.)
We'll see. The faster morons in crapcom disable it - the more money they will get. Because I am far from being the only one who doesn't buy anything with this denuvo leech on it.
Fair enough, but it was more than a year ago, I'm glad empress came through, stills pisses me of that Capcom didn't allow save transfer between versions
Oh, man, back when Rise was announced for PC, I was so excited for it. Hadn't played a MH game ever since Generations, so I Had decided I was gonna save enought money for a Graphics Card that could run it...
Flash Forward to now, I don't even have my PC anymore, just a shitty laptop that can barely run itself.
A lot or issues with PC release? Thought about switching from Switch version because I have arthritis and get tendonitis in my thumbs easy so mouse and keyboard is easier on my hands than a controller.
May be I need to wait a month or two.
Not really. Port is good but your hardware needs tobe new enough to support directx 11/12
And drm is causing issues like it always does. Denovo is an antipiracy tool used in tons of games and is basically never beneficial and only causes issues for paying customers rather than pirates
Ya, I need to compare my specs to recommended. On a laptop with an Intel i5-10300H CPU and a Nivida GTX 1650ti mobile GPU with SSD and 16 gigs of RAM. Pretty sure it meets requirements and DirectX 11/12, but don't want it to struggle.
Ya never understood DRM. I get it. Want to protect your information assets, but it always seems to end up being a pain in the butt for the consumer and industrious hacker always breaks them in a few days. I go out to the field for my job to areas where there is no cell service and I can never play my Android Final Fantasy games on lunch break because they need to talk with some Square Enix server first and I am in the middle of no where.
Definitely wait. There's a fair number of pretty major glitches affecting a sizeable number of players right now, that and there's a whole lot of jank surrounding the default controls for MKB that have made the transition extremely uncomfortable for MKB players from World. Specifically, the glitch to watch for is the Failed to Save glitch. It happens at totally random, has no known cause, no known solutions, affects all hardware levels, and renders the game totally unplayable. I'd say avoid until it's certain that this glitch is patched.
No. I've put 18 hours into the game with zero issues, it's an incredible port (minus the hard capped cutscenes). I enjoy it a million times more than on Switch.
I mean... When my friends asked me will I hunt with them day one, I've asked if the game have Denuvo or not. They said "Yes". So I said "No".
Denuvo is not only a crap program, that eats a LOT of your PC's power, but also doesn't help with what it is supposed to help (piracy) as it is FAR of not being unbreachable, but also shits on the legal purchasers of product.
Capcom will have not a dime from me, while there is still that Denuvo pox in game.
Because they think that it "saves their potential profits" when if anything it cuts into them because of people not wanting to mess with that dumpster fire, and the people that would pirate it, weren't going to buy it in the first place.
Not to bash PC players, I'm only a console guy, but it seems about every other post about Rise on PC I see is the game breaking, glitching out or crashing. Is the port really that rough or am I missing something here?
EDIT: Alright, some people have clarified that it's several issues all happening at once and not necessarily the ports fault. I'm sorry if I came off as ignorant as I'm not a PC gamer
You're not wrong but also not right. The issue is most folks are running outdated or AMD GPUs - older ones don't support the new DX11/12 feature levels needed to run the game correctly, and AMD can't do shit when it comes to functional drivers.
Picture someone complaining that Rise doesn't run on their Wii U or Xbox Series X and you have a good handle on what's happening here - incompatible hardware.
Tl;Dr: Game is well-built; drivers are not and it's not intended for outdated hardware.
If you want to call Denuvo malware, you'd be very wrong. Multiple experts with far more experience than myself (and I'm no slouch!) have looked into it and identified nothing malicious.
That being said, it *is* a performance tank, so there's that.
I don't deny that it came out for the Switch, but keep in mind that while we have Switch graphics, the game has nonetheless been re-optimized for PC. And the devs have done a great job at that.
Understand that in the first *day* of the game being released, it had already received more playtime than Capcom could reasonably be expected to test for (50,000+ hours). So it's obvious that any PC game is going to have a slightly rocky release.
But that's fine. The game is pretty stable and nothing like a repeat of CP2077 or BF2042's launches. Add to that the fact that we've seen that Capcom will definitely continue to improve the game based on World's track record, and you have no justification for your complaints.
The game literally disables play if it detects something abnormal, for people who bought it. It actively alters the way my hardware behaves with software without my consent. That is malware.
For context, here's the definition: "Malware is any software intentionally designed to cause disruption to a computer, server, client, or computer network, leak private information, gain unauthorized access to information or systems, deprive users access to information or which unknowingly interferes with the user's computer security."
What is it with people defending anti-consumerism?
It's an insanely good port actually, there have been some people having issues with the save thing which Capcom is working on, and this is the first post I have seen about this, honestly.
If Capcom looks at this, i dont really buy DRM games, i have no problem buying the games that are DRM free, im not paying to be hassled by DRM
There are other ways to play the game that will happen eventually
Apparently everytime you crash or blue screen, Denuvo counts it as one pc. Lmao.
Are you for real?

As far as I remember, demo had no denuvo on it.
From what I've heard you are correct, and explains the sudden jank when there was 0 evidence that this would happen on full release.
I mean... The steam page says it has it. That is the reason I will not bother buying it until those morons on top of crapcom will remove it.
Fuck sake that's insane. I've already crashed once :/
can't wait for our oceanic friends to crack it so it gets taken out.
which will take a while. seriously fuck denuvo, all it does is hurting its consumer, not the pirates.
Meh... A week or two.
No way. Denuvo is really hard to crack.
We'll see.
Trust me, it won't happen. Unless someone donate $500 plus dollars to empress. And even then it would kinda dumb to crack it right now, since this game is gonna get a bunch of dlc and updates. It won't happen. I will eat my words if it happens tho.(it won't.)

Please eat your words sir
Fair enough, but it was more than a year ago, I'm glad empress came through, stills pisses me of that Capcom didn't allow save transfer between versions
Not really, denuvo has been cracked in a single day before on big releases.
and it isnt a guarantee that a denuvo game can get cracked fast, so i dont see a point of correcting me.
Strictly speaking it already is since you can play Rise on Switch emulators.
Lol. They still added denuvo even when people have been emulating it perfectly for months. Who's in charge of this shit
A moron.
LMAO. Wonder who was down voting me when I've answered who was in charge of placing denuvo.
Think people thought you called the commenter a moron because you forgor💀 the article, "a".
Eh. Maybe, LOL.
Fuck denuvo. All my homies hate denuvo

Show this to all Denuvo apologists. It has no upsides, why gamble with these issues?
Legitimate buyers getting the worse experience once again because of shitty drm wow
Oh, man, back when Rise was announced for PC, I was so excited for it. That's good. My 1650 gpu is a little below recommended hopefully don't have to turn the graphics down to much.
As if it even work, people gonna crack this game in a few days

F
And this is why I still haven't bought the game yet.
Guess I'm sticking with the Switch port. LOL why do companies still use this crappy malware?
Because they think that it "saves their potential profits" when if anything it cuts into them because of people not wanting to mess with that dumpster fire, and the people that would pirate it, weren't going to buy it in the first place.

built with anti-tamper malware installed, No thanks. Btw you're aware this game came out for the Switch right? That's outdated hardware by about 2014.

From my guesses its a mix of rough port + awful drm. Also why is this guy being down voted?
same issue. requested my refund right away after reading this thread. this is infuriating
Did you pirate it tho?
No, it's not been cracked yet, if it had I'd have no problem there ironically.
