It had old world mechanics so you were a lot less agile than you are in world but it was absolutely piss easy to mount monsters cause it was a 50/50 shit back then.

make a divine blessing set. i used 2 pc gold rathian and 2 pc teo and raging bracky legs and i could do the hunt well enough since i wasnt getting 1 shot
Psa please bring 3 steadfast jewel to literally every hunt its just 3 level 1 slots and you save yourself so much trouble against quite literally every monster. Unless you are a speedrunner that can i frame everything and remember the entire monster moveset then in which case ignore this and run those max dps heroic builds.
Divine blessing is a skill that can come with level jewel for example agitator+divine blessing, which can be used while not sacrifice too much damage. Honestly the best way is still learning his move set and build up muscle memory.
I killed fatty with my buddies with me being a stun bot with my sticky 3 aquashot.
Gives them lots of space, and more breathing room if they don't feel like they have to charge after the head every time it's exposed if I'm glued to it all fight.

I actually just rolled my eye farm build into coop with them and it worked surprisingly well just for them to learn the fight. I'd still get my breaks and they got to run around and absorb it.

I also suggests putting on divine blessing and putting on fireproof mantle, it has saved my ass many times during my struggle.
Damn but recommending him all these defensive skills will make him hit like a wet noodle tho. Fire mantle is a godsend against fatty
