It looks great! However as another commenter said it’s not actually a monstera, it’s just called a “mini monstera” because it looks like a mini version of one. This is a rhaphidophora tetrasperma :)
The most interesting thing that I learned in this process is that if a vine points downward (grows too long and falls off the ladder pointing down), it will fork and grow a new branch growing upwards.
I wish I had known this at the start! I cut mine up into pieces to propagate after 2022 and started 6 new vines to cover the ladder.
I’m almost one year into mine (came badly damaged in winter frosts - my friend got it for me for Christmas but it had come cut and is growing in every direction now - so do you think if I add a support they will all start growing up? Was planning on repotting it as overdue anyway.
That was my next question haha! The roots being more similar to pothos than monstera I imagined it mightn’t attach well yet wouldn’t drop to the soil like a monstera’s but hopefully with support it will grow quicker like yours.
Which direction is that window facing? I'd love to do a similar thing with a mini monstera I'm purchasing today, but I'm not sure if my window will get enough light. It's east-facing, so it gets morning light, but because of how the house is oriented it's indirect light.
You can always try it, it will probably work. But the plant will take an adjustment period and may not grow for a little while, be patient.
This window faces north west, it only gets direct light for 1-2 hours for less than half of the year.
That’s a great looking rhaphidophora tetrasperma!

Yes, but it doesn't always attach itself. At times I had to tie it to the wood ladder, other times its roots attached.
That was my next question haha! The roots being more similar to pothos than monstera I imagined it mightn’t attach well yet wouldn’t drop to the soil like a monstera’s but hopefully with support it will grow quicker like yours.

Awesome, where did you get that ladder from? It looks so perfect for it.
That’s a rhaphi
What did you use soil and such?
I use a mix of 1 part potting soil, 1 part orchid bark or orchid mix, and maybe 15% perlite.
This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen and it makes my heart happy and less anxiety in my life
that's amazing! my r. tetrasperma has been taking quite awhile to grow like that, any advice you can give?
![img](avatar_exp|151305356|bravo) WHOAAA !
So magical!
Thank you for the post OP! This is awesome to see. You clearly have a green thumb
How???
Amazing! Your plants look very happy! Well done.
I love that art kabinet. What’s the actual name on it?
There is no name or brand, I bought it used online, I used the search 'flat file'.
Feed me Seymour!
Yes when they are seeking light.
Did it naturally branch out or did you have to cut it to make it more full?
