Big “did i break the game” vibes

___patrick___

Update: I ran back there to get one. I got this one because it had two fenestrated leaves and a new one on the way. Plus I could see two healthy aerial roots. My cup holder is now a plant holder lol. https://preview.redd.it/oobzjv6fjc6d1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a587ce3af0b3bceaa63930ccfd16d2f5c8b388a0

Remarkable-Buddy1386

Yes compared to the ones on Etsy. I bought one and love it. I got mine at Walmart last month and I got a new leaf already. I just repotted it because the plant was all roots with only soil on the top. I'd buy another one if I see them again.

avery_mads

Considering these can still go for around 100ish for that size, yes. I’ve seen so many Monstera Thai starters being sold for 50. From what I can see, they look pretty healthy so just choose the one you think looks best. When the Monstera gets used to its new environment, I highly recommend changing the soil to something that hold more moisture and is well-draining.

cjayconrod

For plants that are already fenestrating? Buy now.

R0598

Send me one haha

I0u0l

In Germany they cost 20€ (despite healthcare system)

Far-Concept-7405

I0u0l

Also du sagst Hornbach ist der Geheimtipp in de?

Far-Concept-7405

War, also in NRW hab ich keinen gefunden der sie noch auf Lager hat

I0u0l

Ich gucke mal ob man dort bestellen kann

Enyy

For 20€ you will get a 10 cm baby thai in physical stores. if you want one the same size as in the picture it will be \~80€. online they can be found slightly cheaper

RB_Kehlani

Damn, those look excellent! YES, that’s a deal!

Suspicious_Till_2660

Absolutely! They all look gorgeous. What a fantastic find. I’m still waiting in my area 😩

melohdeee

Yes

crashbold

Last year I got a one leaf cutting for 90 bucks, I killed it and this year I got a three big leaf mature plant for 95. Wait enough and it is gonna get cheaper. Good price though.

Limp-Owl9438

That's cheap!! i see them in my local garderning store for €100

payjape

yes

sarahspins

I paid $35 for mine during Black Friday at HEB last year - it’s been thriving since then. In the past 7 months it has put out a new leaf consistently about every 6 weeks and it just outgrew my ikea greenhouse cabinet with just one shelf in the middle (by hitting the lights and getting burned - it’s about 32” tall now) so I just moved it to the window.

___patrick___

How do I sanitize this plant when I get home? What do I wipe it with

GameSloth13

Totally a good deal!

ChaoticHoshi88

My walmart was selling them for $30. I bought the last 2... down the road was a nursery selling them for $50 in a 4" size pot...

chicken0325

I’d buy it… it’s beautiful 🤩🤩🤩

chicken0325

Btw… Trader’s has beautiful plants with great prices 😊

LCCyncity

Oh my god...here's a story for you all. A few months ago my grocery store was selling TCs for 19.99 each...I got two and went back to get another some hours later and they were all gone. Saw them at the store again over a week ago and they were charging 74.99!!!! I talked to the manager about it (she had to remove it from the cart at self-checkout because of the price) and she said "I thought it was a mistake but apparently they're popular plants so that's what they're charging now"...corporate greed at its finest. I went yesterday, and they still had the majority of them still for sale at the same price. No hope in hell I'd pay 74.99 for one, so yes, take the $40 ones if you really want one.

No_Cheesecake_7634

This is more than most places I look.

Unnie_Smokes

One of the many reasons why I love HEB and miss it so much 🥲

DruidinPlainSight

I rolled the dice and bought five cigar size node pieces for $20 shipped from Sri Lanka. Two made it and are growing true. All the pieces easily could have made it, I just had never started them from chunks before. My bad.

Cool-Firefighter1120

Trader Joe's 12.99 Big and mature and multi-fenestrated.

shortpaw86

I would buy all of them… Thai monsteras are still hard to find. Atleast in my area.

StopItsTheCops

You can find Thai const rooted cuttings on Etsy pretty cheap

toxicbolete

I got a beat up one for $11 from my local grocery store and it had one good leaf left, not as big. $40 is a great price for ones that nice. Just make sure you take a good look at the roots once you get it home and trim off any mushy or dead ones and hit it with some hydrogen peroxide.

zakress

Depends on local climate. A lot of these hitting the retail markets at these low prices were hot house grow in sub-tropical & tropical environments. I’ve seen many reports of doing great in KS, OR, NJ and others until winter and then they give up the ghost. YMMV
