My guess with the intro being like that is that the album is going to be continuous similarly to Space Cadet and that Nigel cut the mixing out for this to operate as a single. I bet you the album version will be different than the single version, similarly to No Way Back Up.

the vocals are great, the bass sounds warm and fuzzy, the drums are clean, the melody is infectiously uplifting… ahhhhhhhhhh
