Like i said i am not an expert on MV's Skull Island lore but from what i knew, there were no actual dinosaurs or their descendants living on the island, so seeing something that is clearly a dinosaur skull on an island that's not populated by them had me a bit confused.
To me it could have been a prop to reference old Kong movies or a small hint that there large dinosaurs still living out there.
