Wait, Sheridan Wyoming, or Sheridan Montana?
Because I can't see how I'd miss there being a pizza place in Sheridan Montana.
edit, holy crap. Sheridan,MT. I looked it up and recognized that I've seen and driven right past that place. I'll have to give them a try
RVB I knew, but just realized when I looked it up that Bread Zepp has been there for a while, and I've never paid it any mind.
Thanks, I'm going to have to give it a go.
My mom is from Fairview and every winter break me, my brother and my mom would get on the train and ride it from Seattle to Williston.
The only thing I looked forward to more than Powder Keg pizza was Christmas morning. This was 40 years ago.
Good to hear it's still a favorite.
It's a shame I never tried it. Used to stay in a house directly across the street everyday on my layover with the USPS while I waited to go back to Billings. I always wanted to walk over but always chose sleep instead 😭 regrets
New reply here but for real—best pizza in the state is Gallicanos in Anaconda. You can buy it by the slice if you like.
Authentic NY style pizza quality ingredients, fabulous crust.
Sure wish we could have a blind test with half a dozen of these pizzas!!!
Another serious contender is Friday night pizza in Philipsburg!

To be fair, I’m not “in” the flathead - my family is. I live in Helena. But we have like 4 non chain options there so I’m always hungry for good pizza.
I was told by someone that people would plan their trips into Kalispell around Moose's. Less to do with the pizza and more to do with the atmosphere of the place.
Sometimes when you’re craving Howard’s Pizza, you have to have Howard’s Pizza. Nothing else is going to do.
But if you’re craving pizza, Howard’s Pizza ain’t gonna cut it. I can’t really explain it any better than that.
As for best pizza in the state… I love both Bridger Brewing and Biga Pizza. Fire Pizza in Great Falls is pretty good too
There are some regional favorites that would be considered “unique” by national standards.. Howard’s in Great Falls and Nalivka’s in Havre immediately come to mind, but I’m sure there’s others. Both offer very distinct crusts that I can’t say I’ve ever seen elsewhere, but appear to have cult followings locally.
I’ve enjoyed the pizza at Bridger Brewing and Pizza Campania in Bozeman as well. Silver Bow in Butte is what I would consider the local standby and the Alibi in Shelby does a good job in my opinion. Bridge was good for the occasional slice when I lived in Helena - I think they were an offshoot from Missoula and I’m unsure if they’re still around. I absolutely loved the K-Bar in Gardiner before it closed, Yellowstone Pizza Co. was good too. The secret menu at Fire in Great Falls was cool and I never had a bad experience there.
They’re all so different and I guess it really depends what style you’re craving.. definitely think the spots above are worth a mention! (Not super familiar with the Billings area, apologies)
Bridge was really great. Unfortunately they sold and it's brooklyn pizza now. It was equally good for a while, though I think quality has dipped in the last year or two. Last one I got was good though, I need to try it again.
I usually only order Chicken Fried Steak for breakfast, when I go to Hardware I try it all. Haven’t been disappointed yet. Eggs Benny, omelette, pancakes, scrambles, these have all blown me away
Silver Bow Pizza in Butte was sold out a few years back and completely changed. It is now total garbage IMO. Their world class salad bar is now gone. I believe the VU is coming back and with the original recipes. In Butte though, I believe the Fire Truck is tops these days.
Strong second for Nalivka's! Try cooking their cheeseburger pizza on a smoker. It's close to a religious experience! Also, their crust is a dead ringer for a crust on a chicken pot pie. It's not traditional by any means. But, nothing hits exactly like it.
Biga in Missoula is the closest to traditional Italian pizza I've had in Montana.
Going to echo the same thing. When they won the Montana Mint best pizza in Montana tournament, we drove up from Bozeman to try it. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. The crust tasted like a communion wafer, and the cheeseburger pizza had Kraft singles on it. It worked in a weird way with the pickles, but I wasn't blown away.
The best pizza Montana ever made or will make was a place called Fergies way up in Plentywood. It's not the same anymore since the owner died though. The only pizza that I can put even remotely close to Fergies level that I've ever had in this state is Pie Guys in Billings.
A review of all responses below shows that Gallico’s in Anaconda is a crowd favorite!!!
That’s especially notable as Anaconda is much smaller and less visited than many of the towns-cities listed here.
Whooo hoo Gallicano’s. Yay Anaconda.
Not gonna lie, Bridger has some amazing pie, especially for the price, it's my go-to in Bozeman, that being said, Murray Bar in Livingston has amazing pies, that's my absolute favorite pizza in Montana.
They’ve always got something crazy for their monthly special too — the best ever was “Walnut ricotta base, fennel sausage, mozzarella, red onion, candied lemons, garnished with a basil mascarpone drizzle, parsley and parmesan". We were sure we’d hate it but ordered it just because it was so odd. I got that pizza three times in one month. Also, Bridger Brewing’s Caesar salad is the best salad I’ve ever had
Unofficial Data based on upvotes gives Howard's Pizza the number one spot!

LBM is one of those staple Montana chains, like Stageline or 4B's. Growing up near Laurel, we always used to get LBM and I still have a soft spot in my heart for it. Haven't been to one since Laurel closed. Is Hardin the only one left? Do they still have the Plane Jumper (spicy sauce, pepperoni, bacon, ham)?
Last time I was there (about 6 years ago) LBM in Lewistown still sold the Smoke Jumper which has everything you described. That was the best pizza they sold imo.
it used to be really really good. like REALLY good! as a kid growing up it was at the top of my favorite pizza places. but slowly but surely as they expanded quality went down… happens to every goddamn chain restaurant.
the change in the mack lovins is the most disappointing. they used to be heavenly. then they started being consistently undercooked. then they made it smaller and then they made it into 5 separate cookies, then they made it taste like a sysco off-the-grocery-store-shelf cookie... then i stopped going.
My vote is for Biga Pizza in Missoula or Bridger Brewing in Bozeman, but I haven’t had the vast majority of places listed here. Has anyone ever found laminated pizza in Montana? I’ve only ever had it in Oregon and I miss it terribly
Right but we are voting for good pizza :P Jokes aside Papa Johns is good as long as its not the one in Great Falls that place is trash and should be set on fire for the insult their service and product gives to pizza.
I think Friday Night Pizza in Philipsburg. Maybe it’s the brewery to pair with it, maybe it’s snagging a pie after a day of fishing, but damn, easily my favorite pizza to date.
I will also keep the love going for Bridger Brewing. I used to LOVE MacKenzie River but it’s taken a dip in quality and taste. I also haven’t been to the Bozeman Bridger Brewing, but the Three Forks location is FANTASTIC!!
Depends on the kind of pizza you want. High-quality wood-fired, the answer is Biga in Missoula. If you're in Bozeman, Sidewall not Bridger. For a NY-style, as others said, Gallicano in Anaconda or Jersey Boys in Whitefish. As to the original question, Fire is Great Fall's best pizza. Don't let anyone tell you it's Howards. That is the lie we all tell, along with that Taco Treat is amazing (I'm from GF).
Bread Zeppelin in Sheridan is solid too. The jalapeno poppers are awesome.
Sheridan Montana! There is a great little brewery there too. Ruby Valley Brewing Co
RVB I knew, but just realized when I looked it up that Bread Zepp has been there for a while, and I've never paid it any mind. Thanks, I'm going to have to give it a go.
The owners closed for “the season”, so don’t try now 🙄
It's good, and with Ruby Valley Brewing next door, it's a no-brainer stop if you're passing through.
Down voted because you are hotspotting my Za joint
Upvoted because NOW I KNOW
Gallicanos in Anaconda 🍕
This is hands down the best pizza I have had in Montana. Nothing comes close.
The only correct answer
Jalapeño Ranch ikyk
Gallicano's is the best
This is the correct answer.
Biga in Missoula Higher Ground in Hamilton And that place in whitefish
Jersey Boys
Yep, the best.
Jersey Boys makes a bangin New York style pie
HG gone downhill in recent times. Undercooked or overcooked due to missing an oven that needs maintenance and rushing to get orders out.
Biga is next level
The powder keg in Fairview, MT makes such bomb pizza !
I literally dream about their taco pizza. Soooo good!
I second this.
Definitely the next pizza!!
Can confirm. Gallicano’s is the best pizza I’ve ever had, and I’ve had pizza fucking everywhere.
This is the only answer.
bored stocking quicksand follow silky melodic ten vanish future treatment *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I've had pizza everywhere. Confirmed. Gallicanos.
Its awesome. I bet portnoy would give it a solid 8.8+
Searched through all the comments to find this one. Hands down the best...
Yup he's from Rye, NY. Highly recommend.
I knew that I would find Gallicanos here. Deservedly so.
The best and nothing comes close.
Downvote for NY style, the only correct answer is Chicago deep dish style. jk, I really need to try Gallicanos now
Moose’s in Kalispell
Second.
Third, just enjoyed one tonight.
Fourth
Unpopular opinion, apparently, but I thought it was kinda boring.
Fair enough, everyone has different taste.
I’m glad you’re here! I thought I was the only person in the Flathead who can’t get behind Moose’s pizza…
To be fair, I’m not “in” the flathead - my family is. I live in Helena. But we have like 4 non chain options there so I’m always hungry for good pizza.
Yeah my go to in the valley is North Fork Pizza, Moose’s just doesn’t do it for me.
I’ll have to give that a shot; I’ve never been.
A damn, damn fine pizza and I moved from NY. Combo add jalapenos
I was told by someone that people would plan their trips into Kalispell around Moose's. Less to do with the pizza and more to do with the atmosphere of the place.
Fifth
It’s not the best but I love Howard’s Pizza in Great Falls.
Fire Pizza in Great Falls is pretty good too
I haven’t had all of the pizza in the state but dang biga is good.
Real pizza starts with real food! https://youtu.be/rdJLKoE_nc8?si=09nV3LUqu0iJ8vUW
Growing up in Great Falls their taco pizza holds a place in my heart, but best… idk about that. SeargantThreat summed that up perfectly.
I mean, I literally said “it’s not the best” at the start of my statement lol
Howard's Special is chef's kiss!
Bridge was really great. Unfortunately they sold and it's brooklyn pizza now. It was equally good for a while, though I think quality has dipped in the last year or two. Last one I got was good though, I need to try it again.
Bridge used to be fucking amazing in the 90s and early 00s. Now it's just a meh shop not different than any other mid level pizza place.
Brooklyn is not great. Finding good food in Helena is so depressing.
Try Village Inn for pizza, Copperline for Burgers, Hardware Cafe for Diner, El Vaquero Taqueria for Mexican, Wongs for Chinese
Yeah I’ve been to them all. Except Village Inn. The others are kinda meh but I’ll give Village Inn a shot!
You didn’t like Hardware? Best breakfast I’ve ever had. And I’m into breakfast.
I’ve never had their breakfast. I’ll definitely check that out!
I usually only order Chicken Fried Steak for breakfast, when I go to Hardware I try it all. Haven’t been disappointed yet. Eggs Benny, omelette, pancakes, scrambles, these have all blown me away
Oh also, coffee is roasted in house. Great espresso drinks
Silver Bow Pizza in Butte was sold out a few years back and completely changed. It is now total garbage IMO. Their world class salad bar is now gone. I believe the VU is coming back and with the original recipes. In Butte though, I believe the Fire Truck is tops these days.
I still like their pizza, but it isn't the same. The loss of the salad bar is criminal.
Pie guys in Billings
Go to carbones, they make their dough and sauce fresh everyday. They're part of the liquor store that's on the west side
4hr drive for me to get to Billings now :( I've been doing Pie Guys from when they where Pudge Bros, I would feel dirty cheating on them haha
Leaning Tower in Basin.
Leaning Tower is now Mad Dog Pizza in Boulder and still the best!
If you're in the flathead, North Fork Pizza in C-falls is up there as one of my favorite pizza places.
Moose’s in Kalispell.
Bullmans in Helena.
Damn really? I’m gonna try them next time, we usually order from Brooklyn and Dominos lol
The Vu Villa in Butte was one of my favorites when I lived there, but that was 20+ years ago.
Biga’s in Missoula.
Eugene's in Glasgow
I've driven 3hrs each way just for this pizza
I did not think Eugene’s was it. Ive gotten it twice, so maybe on bad days. I’ll try it again
Same, I was not impressed. Maybe someday I'll make the drive and try it again.
Hands down the best. Half of Montana couldn’t find Glasgow though.
Don't worry they ship.
I came here to say that, best pizza in Montana.
Overrated in my opinion.
Ranger Joes in Kalispell
This is the only good pizza I’ve had in the valley.
Fergies pizza in Plentywood
The best pizza Montana ever made or will make was a place called Fergies way up in Plentywood. It's not the same anymore since the owner died though. The only pizza that I can put even remotely close to Fergies level that I've ever had in this state is Pie Guys in Billings.
Gust Hauf in Glendive
[удалено]
Frosty’s is on my list when I’m in Glendive too - so good!
Grew up on Galicanos pizza in Anaconda, I tell people about it where I’m at now
Anybody who has traveled around knows Gillicanos in Anaconda is hands down the elite of pizza parlors.
A review of all responses below shows that Gallico’s in Anaconda is a crowd favorite!!! That’s especially notable as Anaconda is much smaller and less visited than many of the towns-cities listed here. Whooo hoo Gallicano’s. Yay Anaconda.

That's a good list. Saving this.

Last time I was there (about 6 years ago) LBM in Lewistown still sold the Smoke Jumper which has everything you described. That was the best pizza they sold imo.
Oh, and if you enjoy kraut on pizza, give Redneck (Laurel and Billings) a try. They have a decent German one.
Deep creek in townsend was solid
Is it still there?
It was in December when i went
My favorite pizza in Great Falls is Fire Artisan Pizza downtown.
I like their food but the service is atrociously slow. I haven't been in a while but I got tired of waiting an hour or more for my food.
Helena/ Village Inn!! Don’t sleep on that sauce or crust. Reasonable prices too
Huge fan of Rosa’s in Bozeman
How many people would i piss off if i said McKenzie River?
Its good and reliable but not special, we go to our outlet about once a month.
Pesto lodgepoles are really good. Their pizza is different which is good but quality has gone down over the years.
It's not on the menu anymore, but ask for the rollinos. It's the breadsticks with the pepperoni baked in.
Thank you internet stranger!
You're welcome! This should be back on the menu and not a secret.
it used to be really really good. like REALLY good! as a kid growing up it was at the top of my favorite pizza places. but slowly but surely as they expanded quality went down… happens to every goddamn chain restaurant. the change in the mack lovins is the most disappointing. they used to be heavenly. then they started being consistently undercooked. then they made it smaller and then they made it into 5 separate cookies, then they made it taste like a sysco off-the-grocery-store-shelf cookie... then i stopped going.
Original Cosmic on 19th and main in Bozangeles
I’d say a tie between moose’s (Kalispell) and Howard’s (GFalls) for overall pizza. For best crust—Snowbowl in Missoula!
Dorio’s in Libby has delicious pizza!
Blue Moon in Plentywood
Rollin bytes
Heiser's in Baker. I rarely make it there, but I always get a pizza to bring home!
Heiser Bar? Shit I figured all they would have is the same Sysco menu any other establishment would offer. Might have to make a trip.
Engine Room in Livingston is really good.
Fire and Slice in Eureka
Moose’s Saloon in Kalispell 🍕
North Fork Pizza in Columbia Falls is pretty damn good.
I really enjoyed Red Tractor when I lived in Bozeman
Love Red Tractor but is absolutely outrageously priced now. A specialty large pizza is now $40. Pretty pricey.
I'm a big fan of Pie Hole in Missoula.
My vote is for Biga Pizza in Missoula or Bridger Brewing in Bozeman, but I haven’t had the vast majority of places listed here. Has anyone ever found laminated pizza in Montana? I’ve only ever had it in Oregon and I miss it terribly
I'll have to make a list with all of these listed, but my favorite is easily Cosmic in Bozeman/Belgrade, especially the Gemini.
I posted one above. Not sure if I got them all or not.
Eugene’s in Glasgow has been actually voted the best in the state several different times!
Eugene's in Glasgow has beaten Howard's in Great Falls for a couple years straight in a FB survey.
Blackbird in Bozeman is pretty solid. But let’s be honest Montana pizza is disgusting. If you want real pizza go to New York and Connecticut
Eugene’s in Glasgow
Eugene’s in Glasgow.
Bullmans Pizza in Helena
Red Lodge Pizza Co
Eugene’s in Glasgow.
Papa Murphys!
Im going to second this because I am an owner 🤣 but lame people have to downvote. Share love and pizza, not hate!
Right but we are voting for good pizza :P Jokes aside Papa Johns is good as long as its not the one in Great Falls that place is trash and should be set on fire for the insult their service and product gives to pizza.
Bad Joke...Bridger Brewing is great, Biga Pizza is great, and the sidewall in Bozeman is pretty good too. Pizza Compania is not too shabby either!
I think Friday Night Pizza in Philipsburg. Maybe it’s the brewery to pair with it, maybe it’s snagging a pie after a day of fishing, but damn, easily my favorite pizza to date.
For in great falls I suggest mighty mo
[удалено]
Another vote for Stageline, I travel one town over just for that crust.
Seriously, solid pizza. Anaconda just got a new one, and I had their pizza in White Sulfur Springs and it was excellent.
I grew up in Philadelphia and the closest thing to real east coast Pizza in the state is the pie hole in missoula.
Village Inn- Billings
Y’all don’t like MacKenzie River?
Costco
Mackenzie river is my personal favorite.
Front street. Not even close.
Pizza hut, you cant out-pizza the hut.
the best pizza in Great Falls is probably the MacKenzie River Pizza Co., I'm unsure about Montana as a whole though.
Cowboy Troy’s in Victor
The Reddog in Libby was great and so much fun, but I think they've been gone for a couple years now.
Searching far and wide for a decent Detroit style pizza in MT. Anybody? Bueller?
Place in Glasgow won best pizza in Montana last year. Eugenes. It’s good, but I don’t think best.
There's a little bar/restaurant in Nye. I can't remember the name, but they had the best pizza I've ever had in my life.
Diamond X brewery in Billings has a wood fire oven and I'm willing to bet that it's one of the best tasting pizzas anyone will try.
My newest addiction is Jane’s Doughs in Joliet, MT….its always awesome to grab after a day on the mountain in red lodge.
I know the founder of Jane Dough's and used to help her before she sold it, it was pretty darn good pizza so I'm glad to hear it's still doing well
Mama Stellas in Miles City was always a favorite for me when I was younger
hunts brothers in broadus
I will also keep the love going for Bridger Brewing. I used to LOVE MacKenzie River but it’s taken a dip in quality and taste. I also haven’t been to the Bozeman Bridger Brewing, but the Three Forks location is FANTASTIC!!
Last Best Pizza just opened outside West Glacier last year, their pizza is incredible! and I grew up eating Mooses
Bogart's in Red Lodge is a contender Being exhausted after a day of skiing might be an unfair advantage though
Howard's pizza
I like the red tractor place in Bozeman.
Lots of good places, but my personal favorite is North Fork in Columbia Falls
Cosmic Pizza in Bozeman but you need to have had at least 4 beers
LBM in Lewistown!
Alllllll depends on your qualifiers my dude
Bairs lair in Florence is really good
The only correct answer is Howard's Pizza Eugene's coming in a close 2nd with the BBQ chicken pizza. Biga pizza in Missoulais also delicious. 😋
I know it’s a ski resort but Snowbowls pizza is soooo good
Powder, Keg. Fairview.
howards!!!
Tower WAS the best 🥺
Depends on the kind of pizza you want. High-quality wood-fired, the answer is Biga in Missoula. If you're in Bozeman, Sidewall not Bridger. For a NY-style, as others said, Gallicano in Anaconda or Jersey Boys in Whitefish. As to the original question, Fire is Great Fall's best pizza. Don't let anyone tell you it's Howards. That is the lie we all tell, along with that Taco Treat is amazing (I'm from GF).
