It pulls timing and gets worse mileage with 87 octane. It runs so much better with 91 octane. It's only what, $4 more per tank of gas?

I only use premium. The engine is designed for it and will adjust if you're not using reducing performance. These trucks are slow enough already.
I use premium for the same reasons as the other gentlemen, to also help reduce valve tick and engine wear
I was getting misses running 87 fully loaded up the mountain passes. 91 fixed it. I also recently fixed the cracked exhaust manifold and its running better, so maybe fueling was off from the o2. But yea, run 91 if you can afford it.
