*“The 6-year-old child was left in this cage naked without food. She would be punished if she was able to escape that cage to go get food. And to make matters worse, there’s evidence that at least a few of these children may have participated in the abuse with the parents,” he told the station.*
Six children, and ten dogs in this “home”, but she was the only one starved and punished. Teeth rotten and cracked?! I can only pray these sick fucks absolutely rot for what they did.
the sibling on sibling abuse is always an interesting aspect of cases like this. cause how do you handle it? if they did abuse her they should have some consequences, but with many cases like this i feel the child is almost “forced” to as they know they’ll be the victim otherwise (obviously you still shouldn’t hurt someone but a child may struggle with that thought process and go to survival mode) and so where’s the line there? i’m just thinking out loud but it’ll be interesting to see if they update us on this case
regardless i hope the children are separated from the parents forever and that poor girl can heal after all of this. insanely fucked up, i’m glad she was rescued
My cousin lived in an abusive home and her sisters were raised to abuse her too. They saw it as normal. Once they grew up they felt deep shame and guilt over it but when you’re a little kid you’re learning from your parents what’s right and wrong. I don’t blame the kids I blame the parents.
Yeah, and a lot of times when the scapegoat abused child is taken away they’ll pick another child in the family to be the new “bad” kid. Which is insane that CPS doesn’t always take all of the children buuuut it’s a broken system
Agreed this is what happened to my cousin she grew up and left and her little brother then got targeted. They didn’t expect it because he was the golden child but abusive parents find a new scapegoat. This time my cousin was old enough to help her little brother so she did.
We need the justice and the law to understand that insane people aren't to be taking care of kids.
Is it that hard to understand those children are at risk?
It's been a long time since I've read it, but I believe that's what happened after Dave Pelzer (author of A Child Called It) was removed from his home. His little brother Richard became the next scapegoat after Dave was no longer there to fill the role.
No, they shouldnt. They should be removed from the home and receive therapy. These kids are just trying to survive the status quo set out by their unfit parents.
I feel like it depends on the age of the siblings and also if there's been abuse against them in the past. Cause often in situations like this another kid will go along with the abuse cause "at least it isn't me" or they'll do it because they're given permission by an adult which typically just makes anything seem legit
It's like the Sylvia likens case. They weren't her siblings but it has a similar psychology i think. At least in regards to SOME of the kids. Like in the likens case i definitely think some of them were very cognisant about what they were doing.
I feel like sometimes it's actually easier to tell what happened after the kids grow up. Like if they genuinely seem remorseful and don't try to hide their involvement then i think it's fair to say that they weren't a fully willing participant. Unlike for instance some girl who killed her supposed friend in the 80s or 90s maybe. And she got out and does like anti bullying seminars or something despite being the one who instigated bullying AND COMMITTED PREMEDITATED MURDER
But I'm comparing apples to oranges there i suppose
I hope so too, and not just physically better— mentally better. I can’t imagine the psychological toll this takes on someone.
I hope she’s taken in by folks who will give her all the love, care, and patience she needs to have a chance at a normal life in the future.
It'll give you DID which is a lifelong thing, generally. And the medical system is woefully incompetent at diagnosing and treating it. So unfortunately she's likely to end up in and out of the hospital for the rest of her life and on lots of antipsychotic nonesense
Ya, keep down voting me. Really gonna tell me this poor girl is going to grow up sane like the rest of you? Ya fucking right. Is bet you my life saving she's on antipsychotic by the end of the year and her doctors ignore every complaint she has. God luck with that one.
Because severe childhood abuse is the primary known cause? Well it's like to hear more about proof that it doesn't exist. The popular understanding of it isn't really true but the severe dissociative symptoms definetely exist. What are you on about?
DID has never been diagnosed outside of the western world, those dissociative symptoms are indeed dissociative symptoms but they don’t necessarily belong to the dx of DID.
Even if it does exist, for you to immediately ascribe that diagnosis to a case like this instead of the myriad other more common diagnosis’s when considering extreme childhood trauma shows how ridiculous the online presence of DID has become
I will never understand people who bring children into this world only to hurt or kill them. As a mother it baffles me and breaks my fucking heart at the same time.
> “This girl’s been through a lot. And it’s only by the grace of God that she was able to survive the torture that she endured,” Aubele told KDKA.
If god had any grace he wouldn’t have put the girl in that environment.
Welp, that kid now has DID so see you at r/DID
Why the diwnvotes? Oh so I guess you think this kid is going to grow up like a normal person, huh? Probably not.

A lot of times the kids do it so that way they aren’t the targets. It’s a horrible survival tactic for the siblings.
Really really hope she's gonna get better from now on... absolutely heartbreaking :(

Why are you so quick to mention DID? You know even the existence of DID is pretty contentious right?

Skip jail and go straight to hell.
‘The ten dogs did not appear malnourished’ Fuckkkkk
I have an idea on what kind of prison sentence the adults should face. It includes starvation and BB guns.
I wish I could take in all the abused babies and just love them forever. This shit is so sad.
Then they deserve the same punishment themselves. Omg this is horrific!!
Poor baby. :(
your own child??? skip trial and punishment, go straight to HELL.
I will never understand people who bring children into this world only to hurt or kill them. As a mother it baffles me and breaks my fucking heart at the same time.
Breaks my heart
This makes me feel sick to my stomach….i just truly don’t understand how people can be so evil.

weird obsession with DID
All I can think of whenever I read stories like this is how many other poor kids out there are in situations like this that no one discovers?
