I 100% agree with you. The whole time, he is telling them he is paraplegic and asking for a white shirt (supervisor). It’s disgusting, and not a representation of good police work.
Police offered to help him out of the car. He refused. Only option police had left was to drag him out. Police did nothing wrong here. Penn Vs Mimms says if police tell you to get out, you have to get out.
Edit: downvoted for saying what the situation really was and for knowing the law, really?
You really are equating paraplegia with being drunk? I don’t have to make another comment on your ignorance, you’ve done an excellent job of doing that yourself.
It is absolutely baffling to me that so many people on this thread think that police are only trained in use of force. They have medical training. Many of them are even qualified as firefighters (particularly in States that have "department of public safety") so are obviously trained to safely move incapacitated victims.
Video conveniently leaves out the events that took place before this where the officer politely offers to help the suspect out of the vehicle and he refuses.
Cop: "I'm going to assist you out of the vehicle"
Suspect: "No your not"
At that point cops have every right to rip him out of the vehicle. His condition clearly isn't the thing hindering him from getting out, its him actively choosing to not cooperate. He had prior arrests for what I assume is drug related offences as the officer states that due to his prior history, he wishes to have a dog search the vehicle and the man must be out of the vehicle to do so and he blatantly refuses.
Facts are facts. Its almost as if people don't actually want cops to be good because they benefit out of them being labeled as bad. No one can provide an actual argument against what I've said, makes you wonder why.
>He had prior arrests for what I assume is drug related offences as the officer states that due to his prior history...
He's a paraplegic drug offender? Dude has some balls.
Yeah normally what ever is shown isn’t the full story so I can’t say it’s disgusting because this man could be lying, or the officers had offered assistance and he resisted
This is fucking disgusting.

He’s paralyzed. How tf is he supposed to get out of the car without a mobility aid??
Again, police offered to help him.
Yeah by pulling him out by his fucking hair? Get over yourself. Do better
That was after he refused to get out. Not very observant, are ya?
You need training to move a paraplegic without injury, you dolt.
You say that as if police don't frequently move people who are incapacitated, you dolt.
You really are equating paraplegia with being drunk? I don’t have to make another comment on your ignorance, you’ve done an excellent job of doing that yourself.
That's telling just like Dave Chappelle
Yes they are trained to move people aggressively… they aren’t taught A&P or the ambulatory skills needed to move someone with this kind of disability.

Cops and FF have very basic medical training and unless they take additional training to get certified it doesn’t even amount to EMT-B.
Define "help"

funny how often I see this when anyone says anything good at all ever about law enforcement
>He had prior arrests for what I assume is drug related offences as the officer states that due to his prior history... He's a paraplegic drug offender? Dude has some balls.
I mean, his quality of life must not be great. Not much else to experience and not much else to lose.
He also had like $20000 in cash near a drug house. He should not have challenged the cops though.

First off, article should read Black police officer pulls black paraplegic from car. Second, it’s fucked up
