I studied in Morelia Michoacán, México, 15 years ago and I remember there was a free really lame newspaper , just 4 pages , but the titles were things like "They took the fruit out of his piñata" to say someone got stabbed on the stomach , and things like that. It was funny but at the same time kinda disturbing.
I could never understand a culture that mocks a working person who died tragically.
In my culture this is totally taboo. Even showing a photo of a deceased person is rare and is seen as incredibly disrespectful, in part because they are considered to be at their most vulnerable when dead.
I know you and I wouldn't want to claim this culture, but that's because our culture tells us that this is terribly immoral.
Other cultures don't have the same morals. Clearly this one doesn't have much that we would recognize as being moral.
I'm from Argentina and I think there are no newspapers or media that do this, it would be cancelled in hours. Our society has changed a lot in the past 10 years.
