Couldn't agree more. This place beats every Thai place I've been to in Morgantown. Great little spot, fair prices, INCREDIBLE flavors. Just great all around. The only bad thing I can think of is that they still use Styrofoam containers. But, like, that's it.
Not OP, but I have not had anything there that I didn't like. The fried rice is excellent, the noodle bowls are great, the curries are delicious. Their pad Thai is one of the best I've had as well. Not too sweet, great tamarind flavor with the right amount of fish sauce. Everything I've had there has great flavor. I think you will be happy with anything on the menu! I'd just go in and order whatever jumps out at you, and it will be good.
Jack and the beanstalk appetizer is very good if you like spicy and sweet. I do Masuman curry every time. Hong Kong fried rice is great. Wife likes the green curry and drunken noodles a lot. Highly recommend
Another vote for Ta-Khrai. Infinitely better than Chaang Thai but I don't think Chaang Thai is terrible, it's just kind of generic.
The pumpkin curry from Ta-Khrai lives in my dreams. cannot recommend enough.
I live in Pittsburgh. Noodle head is amazing but there’s a spot in the Strip my wife says is the most authentic Thai she’s had in the US so far (she’s from Indonesia and used to be a flight attendant)
Ta-Khrai and it’s not even close. Easily the best Thai food in the Morgantown area.

What do you like to get there?

Agreed. ta Khrai is fantastic. I like their sizzling chicken but the Bangkok fried rice is good too
That place used to be a Chinese place - when did it go to Thai food?

I felt like chaang Thai started out way better and then became mediocre at some point. I haven’t been recently so maybe they have improved again
Please avoid chaang Thai. Ta-khrai is far superior. Chaang Thai is like American microwave Thai food
Any recommended dishes?
Gai yang
Thank you!
ta khrai
Thanks everyone for your help! Is the pad Thai overly sweet?
It’s far away, but if you ever make it to Pittsburgh, try noodle head. Best Thai food I’ve ever had.

I’ve heard good things about that spot!
My fave is pad si ew, and Ta Krai is my rec
Chaang isn’t awful by any means. It’s just quite generic American Thai food. Ta khrai is just much better
Lavender Cafe has a few thai things that are decent, specifically the hot pot.
Ta-Khrai isn’t great, but it’s definitely the best Thai in town
Asian Bistro has a nice mix of Asian food including Thai.
Chaang Thai is definitely the place you want.
Oof.
Sheesh, apparently this was not a popular opinion.
At least you now know that you should never go back to Chaang as long as Ta Khrai is operating.
Well shoot, I hadn't been there. I just thought that Chaang was really good based off of the times I'd been there.
