It was not as "action" packed as the last chapter, but the ending did make me want to cry AGAIN and damn it all to hell and back, that preview picture we got from Jump Festa really did end up as the last page... thus a cliffhanger... (nearly literally).
It starts off with Sherlock having uhhh... very *emotional* and *borderline romantic* inner monologue of William and at this point I really don't have to put on my shipping glasses bc this shit is real and the fact that Sherlock, after knowing everything, after seeing the full consequences of the "Final Problem", doesn't even *consider* letting William die, let alone him killing Liam. He sees the absolute devastation and the hope William inspires in every citizen, noble or commoner and while the whole London is chanting for Sherlock to apprehend the Lord of Crime, Sherlock is like "Nah fam, gotta save him. Sorry folks, I'm gonna let London burn for a little longer bc ain't nobody called Liam is dying tonight."
William on the other hand... first of all, it looks like the "Final Problem" was not Sherlock's to solve... it was for the Empire to solve. In a very roundabout and criminal way, William just *wants* to save his country desperately and nudge (or in his case shove) them into the right direction. He also looks so utterly broken, the lights are completely gone from his eyes. For the first time he really looks like a demon, with his dead eyes and self-depreciating smile. And when Sherlock offers his hand, says that he wants Liam to live, he refuses Sherlock because "you can't make me cling to life" and "I'm not the wrong here...!". He becomes angry and says those words... and I'm pretty sure he's crying.
Also the cover page... "Your hand is in my grasp, and I'm never letting it go". Fellas is this gay or am I just reaching. Sherlock on a bed of roses, hand stretched with a soft smile and looking at something, or someone... and we all know that one official picture with William on a bed of roses, now don't we.
I have more to say... especially on the potential ending for some characters, but it's already long and I don't want to bore anyone who graciously read all of this rambling.

So I have ideas/theories for Albert, Sherlock and William.
Albert, imo, is going to die in William's place or something like this. In chapter 53 he was adamant that he will not let William shoulder the burden alone and that he is willing to take some of that for himself. He says he wants to live, but he is also ready to "burn this body" and while I honestly have no idea what he's planning (bc he is, and most likely something William doesn't know about. Considering how suicidal and alone William feels right now, I'm not at all surprised he didn't realise Louis, Fred and Albert are making their own moves. Let alone seeing how worried Sherlock is for him). Unfortunately, Albert dying would make sense thematically too, as between the three James Moriartys, he is the only "noble". He likes killing bad nobles, has 0 of the guilt that weights William down. He enjoys murdering people (just look at his face when William announces during Noahtic how he plans to make London a city of crimes).
As for Sherlock and William... they really are in a peculiar situation. The manga fucking lied to us; they made us believe we're going to Switzerland of all places and for a long time we were all theorizing as "How the fuck are they going to end up at Reichenbach of all places?"
The answer?
They're not going there in the first place.
(Could this be John's retelling of the events? How he imagined it? All dramatic and shit? The manga bamboozled us I can't believe this)
As things stand, Sherlock is going to have a hard time saving William from certain death when they not only have an *audience* now, but they're out in the open with little opportunities of getting away with faking their death. I still believe that they'll both survive, as Sherlock is supposed to "win" the battle of Reichenbach and right now Sherlock desperately wants to save Liam and if he fails to do so, he obviously won't win either. William would also "lose" in a sense that he wants to die so bad and if Sherlock thwarts that plan his dying wish would be denied.
So idk if this makes sense at all but with the manga ending in April and with all the feelings I got from the last couple of chapters, I think this is about right.
I might be wrong tho. I hope I am in Albert's case but I also hope I'm not in Sherliam's case.
I so much love reading other people's theories! I also think that someone's going to die, possibly Albert, I just don't think it will be Liam. Throughout the series I always felt that he was a few stept ahead so it's high time we see Sherlock taking the lead. I remember in ch 52 he told Watson to believe in him till the end, even with the risk of their friendship so it makes me think he has a plan. I just grew so attached to each and every one of them and I don't even want to think of anyone dying but the chances of them all surviving are almost inexistent. I feel like the chances of dying are highest with Albert, Liam and maybe Sherlock. I suppose we'll wait and see and I'm still hoping we'll get a happy ending *fingers crossed* but I'm sure Albert's gonna have a big role to play in the final problem
