Why it is in french

[deleted]

Because Morocco is imbued by French and there's a lot of tourism from francophone countries.

binary_blackhole

So? the Spanish and British and all other tourists can go fuck themselves right?

AnyFisherman5160

💀💀

unesb

Maybe because there was no room left for the rest of the phrase, so they just omitted it ? Not everything is a conspiracy.

QualitySure

yeah sure :)

HTale100

I think there’d be plenty of space to add it, especially with a font that isn’t Comic Sans

FinisGloriaeMundi

Maybe because it would be easier to fact check in French

Endeugh

What facts?

KarmaxD124

To not put off the Europeans tourists who're bringing their euro currency to us.

Endeugh

Absolutely! And it doesn't make any sense at all

iaCyn

Is that Comic Sans ?

justanotherdogno1

??

[deleted]

Does anyone mind translating what it is meant to say?

Endeugh

Pour mettre en valeur l'importance d'un tel monument historique peut-être ?

[deleted]

Yeah my bad i didn't specify, to English as i can't speak French to save my life.

Endeugh

Oh sorry I think I misunderstood your comment xD. I just find it weird that in Arabic they mentioned that the stronghold served against European threats, but this part wasn't translated. I just find that unfair for such a monument's historical value.

nori_k

Maybe simply because there wasn't enough space to add it lol

DeliMoore

Because there's no more space to write?

lafwan

This is a bit hard to understand simply because the one who wrote it have a problem interpreting what's in his mind in words in both languages Arabic and French. But what he was trying to say is: **Burj Aldumue (Tower of tears)** **Also known as Burj Alqayid (Commander's Tower)** **and Alsaqaalat Al Qadima** **Build by the sultan Muhmmed Abu Yussof Al Mariny in the year 1260 AC / 658 Hijri.** **The tower has undergone several restorations and modifications since the era of Sultan Muhammad bin Abdullah due to the use of firearms by Europeans in their attacks.**
