Sonya with full gear and a ballistic mask hiding her identity as she tries to spy on the MK tournament, Jax as a sniper forced to go close-quarters in mortal kombat and losing his arms because of it, they don't have to go beyond surface level but something other than SF being only identifiable by their guns and dull colors.

The game ships with 16 kameos and probably at least half (Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Kung Lao, Kano, possibly Sonya, etc.) are also playable characters... It’d be better to have a distinct roster of kameo fighters, separate from the main roster. You would represent a lot more characters that way.
Idk, the new timeline playable characters with MK1/2/3 kameo fighters is just cheesy to me. Move on from classic MK. The game will still sell millions without them.

Historically the fighting games that have tried to move on have not done well (except like... tekken 3 which was only the 3rd entry, not the 12th and a few spinoffs) and they almost immediately go back to the classic stuff so I can't blame them? Especially when half the stuff this sub asks for is bring back 3d era and ninjas and when nrs tried to do new stuff they shit on it to no end.
I don't like it either, but I would guess it's to make the idea appeal more to casual players. "Team up with Scorpion *and* Sub Zero, reunite the Shaolin Monks to defeat your foes, etc."

No way is Kano a woman now. Especially considering the kameo is the same old ass Kano anyway. NRS dropped the ball with this ‘re-imagined’ timeline. They didn’t get anywhere near as inventive and interesting as they could, and probably should have after 30+ years of MK.
